1. Bachi Burger
2. Debateable, depends on personal preference there are loads of good options. Ramen Sora (more western style, v rich broth), Monta (lighter broth, thin noodles), Tatsu-ya (more traditional, they also have tsukemen, best toppings broth was not so rich/flavourful tho imo), Jinya (somewhere inbetween) all good options.

I agree. I my Vegas Fries were overcooked as was the burger my wife had.

Cocktails were good, though.

looking to visit vegas again. have shamelessly read through almost the entire thread. here is my first list of places that i've been too, roughly ordered into how good i thought it was relative to price (honestly i enjoyed all of them)

been-to list
peppermill
holsteins
burgr
hash house agogo
mon ami gabi
blt burger @ mirage(rip)
maggianos @ fashion show mall
five50 pizza
stripburger
ramsay steak
secret pizza

here is my list of places I want to visit next, mostsly gathered from this thread and yelp. would love advice as to what places im missing and what places should be removed. (we almost stick entirely to the strip). only limitation is no seafood if that wasnt obvious already.

on strip:
grimaldis
border grill
Trattoria Reggiano
cosmo buffet
rollin smoke bbq
casanova
Gonzalez Y Gonzalez
off the strip
yardbird

on strip fancier:
Beauty & Essex
mesa grill
bouchon
milos
cut
spago

off strip:
settebello
chada thai
lotus of siam

also looking for a recommendation for a fancy steakhouse meal, is "cut" the place of choice?

For your new casual places to check out on the strip, I think you can cut most of that list honestly. I think border grill is definitely a spot to check out. In terms of the fancier ones, I think bouchon, cut, spago, and milos are all really good choices. Check out milos for lunch it is one of the best deals in Vegas. I personally would substitute gordon ramsay steak/carnevino/delmonico, and a few other steakhouses before I would go to mesa grill but they do have a good bar menu. A restaurant that is never really mentioned as one of the top ones but a place Ive had some really memorable meals is nove italiano which is at the top of the palms. Grabbing a few blackberry mojitos up there at a minimum is worth it.

It was a really good deal right when they had it for $20. Was less impressed the last time I went. Price went up, food went down.

And $25 + $10, if you get one substitution, results in a $50 check including tax and tip even if you don't get any alcohol.

Of the places you haven't been to I'd agree with bouchon, Cosmo buffet (wicked spoon) and Cut.

Off strip everyone raves about Carsons Kitchen so you should check it out. It was shut the night I went

Agree that Milos is only worth it for a low price lunch, so if that doesn't exist it's not worth it. Dinner there is a joke.

Spago is where I go when I'm on business and someone else is paying, and there needs to be consensus.

Bouchon breakfast is one of the best values in town.

Mint Indian Bistro is missing. Unreal value for lunch.

Depending on where you're from, mint is pretty standard fare/very skippable (in my one trip anyway). Indian lunch buffets are good so I'm not saying avoid it, but Mint wasn't better than the ones I've been to in the DC suburbs, in Seattle, etc. I wouldn't make a point to go get it while visiting LV if you have decent options at home.

No there are plenty, I just don't particularly like the second list. I think you nailed a lot of the other good casual places like Burgr, Mon Ami Gabi, secret pizza, grand lux, pub 1842, peppermill, etc.

I'm sure this has been covered here before, but I was on the strip at a weird time around 3:30 pm, and ended up going to B&B Burgers and Beer. Really just mediocre food, the specialty burgers were far from inspired, the fries were tiny and bland, and the create your own burger was saved by a perfectly done over easy egg. I won't be back.

Went there this summer a few times, and thought everything was decent.

Only had a regular burger/fries, and a strawberry shake. Everything was nice, and I thought the shake was very good.

for the locals that are in the know... Aloha Specialties has reopened in the California on the second floor.
not to be confused with the California on the first floor, this very small restaurant is MUCH BETTER imho and had closed for several month to retool.

Saimin with wonton is to die for as a morning meal...

Chubby Cattle fills a need in Vegas for asian hot pot, conveyor belt is kind of gimmicky, and the server told us in Chinese to order off menu. Was delicious

"Off menu" as in "from menu" or "off menu" as in "make your own special requests"?

Smooch Aloha Specialties. For a long time they had the only spam musubi downtown, and their loco moco was the best comfort breakfast around.

I don't really mind the place downstairs: there graveyard oxtail soup and breakfast miso are both ok.

jmo

M,

The side of gravy/sauce being 23 cents instead of 25 cents is bothering me.

If you need nourishment and all you have is a quarter, there you go. 23 cents plus tax.
