There's a new joint downtown called Inna Gadda di Pizza, which is a ridiculous name, but looks promising based on what I've seen on Yelp.

You are in the LA area?
Blaze Pizza is the best one we have in San Diego. Not sure how far north they are. Much better than Project Pie and Pieology

I am, but the Blaze closest to me is on the same block as Settebello and it always wins. I will make a point to try it though, thanks for the suggestion.

PP can be a well kept secret if you are at MGM late at night (until 1A I think) and you don't feel like standing in line. After a rock concert at the Grand Garden Arena there were maybe 5 people in line.

IMO Secret Pizza is all hype and no better than any average NYC joint.

Pies from Five50's, OTOH, are better than those from Sette Bello in Henderson, and these latter pizzas are certainly worth the drive from the Strip.

Take this from somebody who makes his own pizzas incl crusts from the ground up.

I think secret pizza is very overrated and Settebello might be even more overrated.

It's ridiculous no one here is talking about Old School Pizzeria. The only reason is you haven't been yet. There are no excuses.

The average NYC pizza joint is better than any pizza I've had on Vegas.

I'm getting married in Vegas in late October and will be doing a dinner after the ceremony for about 25ish people. I'm looking for a good steak restaurant with a budget max of $100 a plate, any recommendations?

Hoping to hear a recommednation from you gobbo!

Thanks.

I did the same thing. Steak is tough at that price -- you're going to see a lot of $5k mins. Would absolutely not tell them it's a wedding if you can avoid it (can be tough because of cake, linens, flowers, etc. if those are part of your plan).

Ultimately we went to carmines, but that's because we had a lot of picky eaters in the group and Italian was easy. With booze and everything I think we kept it all to like 3-4K for 31 ppl including us. But that's not steak.

We didn't really look off-strip, so you might have some success with Golden Steer, nor did we look downtown, so you might be able to look at Vic and Anthony's or Hugo's. Don't know what Circus Circus would do either.

Treasures?

Honestly I think if you sell it to the restaurant as a group dinner and not as a wedding, that's your best bet.

I can't see "good" "steak" and "<$100" being in the same answer.

A good steak + 1 side, glass of wine, = $100 at a decent steakhouse on the strip.

My (admittedly limited) experience of 25ish table gatherings is that the cost of drinks, dessert, appetisers, included gratuity, is all going to nuke your budget when they could be looking at $50 for the steak alone.

So I don't think you'll do it on the strip. Circus Circus would be a very good steakhouse at a low cost, but then you've got to ask all your guests to go to Circus Circus. Going off strip to some of the older joints that serve "steak dinners" (rather than a la carte) might do it. But then, you have to troop 25 guests off strip, so getting out a few miles off strip will have problems. You might be able to pull it off though, under the cover of searching for 'old vegas charm'

Most of your guests will probably call it correctly though as a damage limitation exercise. I'd be tempted just to pick your fav on strip steakhouse, finding out what the damage would be, and seeing how big a chasm away from your budget. Some places have very nice private dining room for larger groups, but I imagine they expect to make considerably more than $2500 out of a booking.

If the quotes make you realise your budget is never going to get anywhere close, then you can start looking at family style Italians

Came here to say same thing, Blaze better than 800 Degrees. The crust is no good at 800 Degrees. The official rankings:

Blaze
Pizza Rev
800 Degrees
Mod
Pieology

Pieology is just plain old bad.

Fwiw we had to negotiate the min at carmines down from 5k. I think they were more willing since we were booking just after they'd opened. But you should certainly try.

Awesome. Thanks for the tips. Carmines looks decent and actually works out well for me as they appear to be very gluten free friendly.

Also, thanks Simon for making me realize good steak is wishful thinking at my price point.

I love Musashi for parties but may not be the atmosphere you're going for after your wedding. Would be better for a bachelor party. The food is outstanding for whatever the occasion, though. Would be well within your budget.

For $100 a plate you might be able to do Delmonico but it would be cutting it close.

Golden Steer is probably your best bet but it will still probably get close to $100. The next step down is a sharp drop and you're looking at like the circus circus steakhouse and I just don't think that's appropriate. Go Delmonico or Musashi if you like the atmosphere of a fun teppanyaki place. If you go for anywhere, call ahead and make special arrangements for that many people obviously. Call asap.

I would recommend the place I had mine out at Lake Las Vegas...did it in their outdoor dining area...4 courses for I believe $60/per, could choose a couple different options for each, including a steak entree. Quite good food. Were able to set up the tables the way we wanted, there was live music like 100 yards away, etc.

Buuuuut, they closed their Lake Las Vegas location, so nvm.

Check delmonicos per gobbo's rec, but we usually end up 100+pp there without alcohol

PM me if you want and I'll give you the name of the person we worked with and where we ordered the cake from (which they do GF cakes as well).

It worked out really well and their minimum included wine.

Calling ahead and negotiating a price is a great idea actually. Have everyone prepay for an appetizer, entree and dessert and you might get a good deal from them.

You certainly won't get an outstanding steak for under $100 on the strip.

But saying you can't get a good steak for that money is both disrespectful to the animal that died for that steak and to people for who Ruth Chris would be the most expensive dinner in their life. I feel the latter group might be in the majority in the US.

Personally I wouldn't want to have my wedding dinner at a chain restaurant, but I bet a lot of people would be very happy if they could have theirs at Outback or Longhorn.

Yeah and honestly not everyone needs all of that. For a table of 8, you could easily do 6 entrees, 4 appetizers, 4 salads, and 4 desserts and people would leave stuffed.

It just matters whether you can get them to agree to host dinner for 25 without a guaranteed F&B minimum that exceeds 100pp - if it's a fri/sat night, they're probably doing 100+ per head anyway and turning the table more quickly than your group will turn, so there's opportunity cost for them.

I guess I meant outstanding then?? But who shoots for anything other than outstanding for their wedding? I also wasn't making this all about the beef. You want the salads/sides/ambiance to be as good as possible for your money too. And yes, plenty might order chicken/fish, so the cow doesn't have to take the full burden of my expectation. As you mention Ruths Chris (and historically, RC has been bad (worse than in other cities, which is hard to do for a chain?) in Vegas when on W Flamingo and on Paradise, no idea now it is back on strip.) I would be very surprised if RC will do it for $2500.

I'm sure the Excal buffet hosts a fair number of wedding receptions and I don't see any problem with anyone wanting to do that if that is their idea of a dream meal, or the limit of their budget.

As suggested, get a couple of quotes and if they are all coming in around $5k, then it is time to decide if you are really going to shave a few corners to keep in budget or if it is time to look away from steakhouses.

Ha ha never heard of this restaurant but this is actually pretty funny given that one of the first ever hard rock/heavy metal rock bands (formed in the late 1960's) had a huge selling album titled album In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida with the very popular title track being well know for taking up all of the first side of the album (around 17 minutes).

I am guessing a lot of LSD was dropped listening to this song which still holds its own. The owners must be old hippies or music aficionados.

I was reasonably certain (hopeful anyways) of this too but a little history and nostalgia never hurts. I also didn't think someone would call the restaurant name ridiculous given its seeming homage if they knew what I posted.
