Have done Orchid Garden and Changs. Both are fine if you're craving dim sum but don't hold a candle to middle of the road places in a real Chinatown (eg, NYC, which is not close to the best in North America).

Caveat: it's been a few years since I've been to Chang's, and I've never done dim sum at Ping Pang Pong. I assume the new place at Paris is amazingly overpriced as well, but might fit your criteria if you don't have a car.

Ping Pang Pong's dim sum is vastly superior to Orchid's Garden in my estimation.

You can call it American-style Chinese takeout and it will be the same thing. There's nothing NY-specific about it anymore. Most Chinese restaurants in the US have NY origins and follow the same formula. Quality will vary of course.

what you are asking for is most likely in the thread above your post.
i suggest reading it, or learning how to use the search function.

Hi guys, looking for some tips on where to take 30ish guests (fam/friends) for an afternoon Lunch/Dinner, private seating would be a bonus.

Probably something like one of those exotic meat buffets where they keep brining it over to you etc but up for hearing any suggestions/recommendations.

Last time I was here I got a flyer for a Brazilian style place like this but never got round to checking it out and can't remember the name?

As far as food, Steaks/Fish, Modern/Classic, defo not Asian, as much as I would enjoy it.

Could do Pampas @ PH. All you can eat Brazilian Steakhouse. They have a private dining room that holds about 30. Can always get Living Social or Groupon for like half off.

Pretty bad deal @ full price, quite reasonable @ half price.

Texas de Brazil and Fogo de Chao are the two non casino brazilian steakhouses you'd be thinking of.

Yeah, they're both better than Pampas, but have no clue about private dining or ways to pay half price.

Correct. 11/9/12.

Was just stating why I personally won't go back. If other people have had better results or have higher expectations, I'm very happy for them & wish them the best on all future visits.

I'm from NYC so looking for something comparable to the chinese take out we have.

Now that there's Uber there's no excuse not to cab it over to Chinatown. My pick for NYC-equivalent would be Cafe Noodle or Harbor Palace (where dim sum can be had until 5A).

You can get good, but pricey, dim sum and noodle dishes until 3A at the Yong Kang Street restaurant in the Paris Hotel. The waitress stamps your dim sum ticket with a little rubber stamp and before you know it you've run up a huge tab. Recommended if you happen to find yourself inside the Paris.

Can I get some feed back on Pizza Rock? Is it any better than Five 50 or secret pizza? One of our guys found it and wants to try it. I'm assuming it will tie in with craps session down town.

dunno about pizza rock but pop up pizza at the plaza has a pretty tasty slice, even when you get the stupid pizza with potato and eggplant on it by accident

I think Pizza Rock has the best crust, Five50 has the best cheese. Both are good, I would say in order: Pop Up Pizza, Five50, Pizza Rock, Secret Pizza, Pin Up.

I had a horrible couple of pizzas at pizza rock. I think settebello is by far better.

Five50 rules all. Pop up pizza is pretty good too though.

Five50, Project Pie, and Amore (off strip) would get my vote for best pizza in this town.

Went to El Dorado last night. Really enjoyed everything we had. Good service. And, ran good at CCR so it was free

Secret Pizza would have been more of a 2+2 friendly pick but I'll stick with PP. Internet reviews seem to back me.

The only one of those "Chipotle but for pizza" places I really like is 800 degrees, I think the quality of their ingredients is a level above places like Project Pie and Pieology. I used to be a huge Secret Pizza fanboy but I think they've gone slightly downhill in recent years. Maybe (hopefully) it's just variance but my last couple visits left me disappointed. There's a new joint downtown called Inna Gadda di Pizza, which is a ridiculous name, but looks promising based on what I've seen on Yelp.

Pizza is an individualistic thing. Details are needed.
