For most tourists, it's probably easier and way faster to go to the strip location and pay $5 to the guys who are next in line to add your stuff to their order.

Haven't done that at tacos el gordo, but at other places with huge lines and never had a problem with it.

Instead, it was tonkatsu with marinara, mozzarella, corn, olives and maybe mushrooms on it. The bulgogi dish was amazing, but everything was just not what I expected from a Jjanga.

Still, it's far and away the best AYCE in town. Every time I see someone who is still recommending Oyshi or Goyemon, I laugh in their face. Hard.
On the boldness of the laughing in their face comments, which cracked me up, I've tried Jjanga twice and I have to disagree.

The quality of some of the fish is not as good as Goyemon, and there's a substantial quality difference in the masago, ikura, crab and some of the fish. The halibut is low quality. Some of the jjanga fish was fishy.

Goyemon is still the champ IMHO, though it's lame they rarely have salmon belly.

Oyshi is lightyears beyond goyemon imo. Goyemon was king for a year like 3-4 years ago but it dropped considerably in quality after losing a few chefs.

I don't care for Oyshi personally. I don't find their nigiri to be any better than the competition and they have fewer rolls that appeal to me vs the other spots.

Jjanga has supplanted Goyemon for my sushi dollars these days.

I wanted to try Sushi Koma but I had a friend tell me that they've just begun dousing everything in yum yum sauce which is a practice I find quite unappealing. I feel like Kaya did the same thing.

I was at the Charleston location, and the lines were insane.

They have a shuttle bus to take people to the Charleston location for when the lines get too long at the LVB location.

Going to Mint Indian Bistro when I get into Vegas. What should I order there? I've only had Indian food once.

i've never been, but after a quick review of their menu i'd suggest getting something from the chef's tasting menu and let them introduce you to indian food. the non-vegetarian dinner for 2 looks great.
if you're there solo, then use the chef's menu to suggest what you order.

any of these proteins would be good if you eat meat:
Chicken Tikka Masala
Lamb Vindaloo
Organic Tandoori Chicken
Dal Tadka

eat with naan and rice.

this looks like a decent intro guide to indian food: http://firstwefeast.com/eat/essentia...ndian-buffets/

Are you going for dinner or lunch? Their lunch buffet is fantastic and it's dirt cheap. Go and get a great variety of things that are super high quality because they last for like 5 minutes before they need to put out more.

Not sure yet, probably for lunch. And if I love it I'll go another day for dinner and try some more stuff. Thanks for the advice.

Pasta Idea
Corner of Buffalo and Lake Mead
Cheap, authentic Italian food at a family owned joint.
Dozen or so fresh pastas that can be paired with a few dozen sauces.

Has anyone had a good Loaded Baked Potato soup in town? There used to be a place in Ocean City, Maryland that used to make it on Tuesdays and Fridays and it was 5-stars. It even had crushed Jalepeno Potato Chips on top of the dollop of sour cream on it.

This is a good question, but how much weed did you smoke in the hour prior to you writing it?

Went out to try Echo & Rig...the waiter did a good job of getting us hungry by explaining why their steaks are so good.

Had the grilled octopus which was very tasty but the Spencer steak was underwhelming. Maybe I wasn't hungry enough but it was a bit under cooked while slightly tougher than it should be.

Most of the red wines were about 2.5x retail...not too bad. We had the Peachy Canyon Paso Robles Zin ... best part of the meal.

At any rate the price was certainly reasonable enough to try again in the future.

And don't forget: no corkage at Echo and Rig so you can go next door to total wine and either buy your bottle at retail or buy a bottle 2.5x as good.

It wasn't very good.

Warning: Ellis Island Top Steak deal no longer includes the brew!

Just came from there, was served the lowest quality cut of meat ever (barely edible), and then the check comes with the beer added on top ($2.45 each), and the waiter explains that the included drink was terminated three months ago.

IMO a salad and a chewy steak for $10 is not worth the wait.

End of an era, sadly.

To be fair its still $7.99 with $5 coin in right?
Las Vegas Casual Dining Thread Quote

It was 7.99 with $1 coin-in 12 months ago, even if the $1 was at VP

But the beer definitely helped elevate the value.
