(DOCG also has Enoteca in its official name, so I guess I need to stop calling this place Enoteca?).
They changed the name from Enoteca San Marco to Otto last year. Same concept, same menu, only difference is the branding now matches their offering in NYC. San Marco was a "copy" of Otto from day one so its only logical that they change the name eventually. The NYC location is designed to look like an Italian train station stop, in Italy the stations have fantastic quick-bite food shops where you can often drink wine while standing up at tables, I was a regular because I lived just 4 blocks away.
I generally use Otto for either a casual lunch at the bar (not cheep, but it is the best polpette I ever had) or a cheep option for huge groups where we share the food.
BTW - Destyn, the GM of B&B, is moving back to Otto this month. She is a fantastic manager, thats great for Otto... she will bring the quality of B&B to the more approachable Italian "fast food" concept of Otto.
