Went to Hachi again last night, they had a new dish "Crispy Chips" that was fried crispy chicken skin....JFC was that great.

Server at Carson Kitchen recommended the fried chicken skins. Seemed like it was over cooked a bit. Maybe I got a bad batch.

My gf is a ramen fanatic so we've tried probably 40-50 ramen places and Sora was unquestionably the worst. I would never go back when Monta is close and so so much better.

In contrast there's a strange little restaurant on the outskirts of Chinatown called Omae that from time to time will offer ramen lunches for $10. Their burnt miso ramen is the best ramen I've ever had. It has this really pleasant smokiness to it that is highly addictive.

Sadly LV has nothing on DC/MD/VA when it comes to Peruvian food. I try any Peruvian restaurant that opens up but they're never as good. Mi Peru is probably the least disappointing of them.

Huff: Japanese Cuisine by Omae is a great little spot, and I enjoyed their chicken ramen quite a bit. They did lunch as a soft opening and then sporadically thereafter, but aorn its a $100pp dinner spot. Just so people don't see this and drive over to try the ramen. But the food there is definitely awesome.

Heading west for a week of catching up with friends, placing some bets, and of course hitting the restaurants off the beaten path. Stone cold locks? Only in that I WILL be stopping in at:

- TC's Rib Crib for some pulled chicken and mac & cheese
- Bachi Burger for Miyagi San's Burger and Ox Tail Chili Fries
- Ping Pang Pong for pot stickers
- Lola's for some Etouffee
- Echo & Rig for the Tomahawk Rib Eye
- Off the Strip for the meatloaf
- Grimaldi's for a pie
- Rollin Smoque for burnt ends
- 2 Coney dogs at American Coney Island
- pancakes at Northside Café (just to see if food is nearly as good as closed Griddle Café)

Any suggestions? I'm not a sushi guy but a Japanese steakhouse type place is cool. I probably will give Streetcar Po Boy's another chance since they moved to a better location. Old joint was fugly and food wasn't up to par. Sorry to hear Hank's Philly Cheesesteaks closed. Food was OK but owner was cranky and I ate there at 2 P.M. and place was deserted. Not a good sign so closing isn't a shocker.

Goof,

Other options are fuku burger or grabbing a burger at whatever your favorite steakhouse is.

North strip you have other options: I'm a fan of BLT burger at the Mirage.

yeah, you can exchange them at any time. most of the restaurants I bought them for in 2009 have closed down and I was able to exchange them instantly.

Parents went to the Truffles N Bacon and were impressed. They have mac and cheese and bacon jam on their burgers, I'll probably go check it out myself at some point.

Went to Juans Flaming Fajitas the other day, it was pretty damn good. The double order was more than enough for three people.

I have a friend picking me up tomorrow around 6 at the airport and I am staying with him that night as I don't have a comp rooms until the next day. He lives 1 exit away from Red Rock casino. I want to take him to dinner, he is gluten free for a medical reason. Likes sushi and I guess other gluten free options. Any suggestions in that area?

Love love love this place.
The fajita nachos are good too. We used to sit in the bar and watch football, eat apps, and get margaritas too. Everything there is great.

quick question for the thread:
spouse and i are going to vegas this weekend and staying at aria.
the previous two times in vegas we stayed at mirage and liked the option of having chipotle across the street for a quick and cheap meal. beer on the side was definitely a benefit. this helps balance the money we spend on a nice dinner.
are there any places in or near aria that are at a similar price point for lunch?
