Went to DOCG enoteca, 3rd floor of Cosmo for lunch.

$8 Panini's were big and delicious, while the calamari was light/crispy, with deep-fried fresh herbs etc and a great tomato dipping sauce ($11).

Looking forward to trying the pizzas and pastas there another time (pasta's and mains aren't served btw/n 2-5pm apparently, only lunch/dinner).

Open till 11pm S-R, 12am F/sat

I've been slowly exploring the Vegas food truck scene, I'm already a fan of Fukuburger and I intend to continue exploring this new Vegas phenomenon. Tonight I am going to try Sloppy Joe's at the new bar Artifice on the corner of Charleston, downtown. Ive heard great things, really looking forward to an unpretentious killer meal under the stars while sitting on the corner of the street!

PS: Fukuburger has said on twitter that they intend to look after hungry poker players during the WSOP with deliveries... finally, decent food at the Rio ;-)

Slidin Thru > Fuku

If Fukuburger had a burger without a mayo based sauce on it I would be happy but unfortunately they just don't. Balsamic reduction and red wine vinaigrette on sliders = They have my vote.

Translation to the above: When a "food snob" goes slumming.

Weird sounding at first, but balsamic vinegar is a common ingredient in some of the better bar burgers. Next time you grill, marinate the meat in a reduction first... it will smoke more than it usually does and it might end up more brt on the edges, but the flavor is a really cool biting effect.

Beijing noodle no. 9 has one of the best plate of noodles in Vegas imo. Get the eggplant hand-stretched noodle dish for $13, can't go wrong.

We will be staying at the Monte Carlo.
Can you recommend which Buffets we should try for dinner? And ballpark prices?
We don't mind walking to other casinos to try them out.
thank you.

Cosmo buffet is my fave, I think it is $29 a person pre tax and tip. Bone marrow ftw!

Wynn buffet, $86 for 2 on a friday night. Insay its worth it if you gorge on the snow crab legs, otherwise its not worth the price.

Any suggestions for Fried Chicken on the strip?

Struggling to think of fast food options on Strip, you don't have to go far off strip to fall over KFC/Popeyes/etc everywhere.

Will quite often find fried chicken and waffles on breakfast/brunch menus and there maybe fried chicken on some of the run-of-the-mill casino 24hr cafes.

But for a fried chicken fix, the chicken tenders served in Venetian poker room are pretty decent, and a big basket of it for the $$.

And of course just about every food court will have some fried chicken options...but I'd still hold out for the Venetian In-room poker option.

Any good places to get a bone marrow or pork belly dish?

Headed out in June and have never tried either of those.

Thanks for any recommendations.

CUT has a bone marrow starter and a pork belly starter. And as with several steakhouses, you can order more bone marrow as a side dish. Not particularly casual dining though...

Went to Table 10 (Palazzo) last night. New chef, revamped menu. The bone marrow app was spectacular. The candied bacon and grissini (w/prosciutto and black truffle butter) were also quite good.

Less expensive, yet still expensive is Bouchon's chicken and waffles. And it kills Blue Ribbon. For casual dining I think the best fried chick dish is probably Has House a Go Go's chicken and waffles

Or head off strip to Monta noodle house, I havent been yet but our friends tell us it kills #9 and is cheaper too.

I think the marrow was $7 or $9, its expensive, but if you just wanna try marrow its price cant be beat, might be the best priced marrow in a mid-high restaurant in town. Just sit at the bar, get a beer, and go to town on the marrow and candied bacon if you want to save some $$$ IMO. I went there with CKBWoP and some other friends, the menu from the new chef is pretty good!
