thats interesting, in the Troopers vlog, he said the roll wasn't good-wonder if they have stopped using Amoroso's- (big key to the sandwich)-gonna have to make a trip over and check it out again

It's not a Philly cheesesteak but if you haven't had the Italian beef sandwich at Windy City you're missing the best sandwich in town. Must get it dipped with cheese and hot giardinera.

I haven't been in a couple years at least, but I remember it being better than any cheesesteak I've had here outside of Geri's. I'm told Stake Out bar right across street from UNLV on Maryland also has good cheesesteaks, ain't never had one myself though.

I need to try that Italian Beef sandwich at Al's. I've had some phenomenal ones in Chicago.

Al's also has good Chicago style hot dogs.

When I used to live closer to Pops I went 1-2 times a week. I noticed that the sandwiches were the best when the older guy (owner?) was cooking. When anyone different was cooking, they weren't nearly as good.

Anyone tried Dom DeMarco's yet? I have a foodie friend coming to town and she requested it so I'm going to try it...but I was wondering if any of you had taken the plunge yet.

Windy City > Al's. Not even close.

Oh you said Windy City's was better? I'm pretty sure I've had theirs, I don't remember it being particularly special. Maybe I'll have to try again, try both and compare.

I've never had Windy City Italian beef, but this doesn't seem right.

I will give you the benefit of the doubt, however, in the case that you were born and raised near Chicago.

I only went to Al's once, a couple of weeks after it opened, but this is very true in my limited experience.

Weiss Deli & Bakery on Green Valley Pkwy in Henderson is a great little family run place. Huge portions. Service can be a little slow. Highly recommend the chicken noodle soup, even on those 110 degree summer days.

Dom DeMarco's on W Charleston was pretty phenomenal. Appetizer Meatballs were fantastic, had a crust and were just great meatballs. Their thick crust pizza is among the best I've ever had. Also tried their normal style pesto pizza which was pretty good, but nothing special. Saw people order some regular Italian dishes that also looked quite good.

Dom's is pretty great, everything I've had there has been solid. Thick crust pizza definitely better than NY style. The white pizza and the classic one are the best ones I've had there.

Archi's Thai on Rainbow is pretty darn good.

Archi's has the best thai iced coffee I've had in Vegas, solid food. Their spice level is wacked out though, even a 10 isn't spicy.

Big fan of Archi's as well, all locations are good. But, it's not in same league as Chada and Lotus.

Yeah, I've heard about Archi's from some Thai food fans I know in town, and now I hear about it in this thread. So naturally I now want to check it out! But how could it be better than Chada? Plus I already have a non-Chada favorite right around the corner from my house, King and I by The Lakes, delicious curries and crab rangoons which is basically all I order from there.

It's not better than Chada, but it's solid.

Seems like a good time to mention that I was invited to the soft opening of Chada Street this thursday and I'll be going with daryn, his gf and Bugstud. I'll be putting a review up probably that night on www.jimmyeatsvegas.com. Super excited!
