Cool, place is right down the road, do you usually have a long wait?

10-15 minutes. It's one guy doing everything. Get your car washed while you wait or something. I live literally right next door to it so if you wanna go I'll meet you there and we can chat a bit.

I love this thread. Thanks, everyone. One request, when you are talking about a place that was mentioned in a previous thread, can you repeat the name (basically in each subsequent thread)? Makes it so much easier to follow! I'm going to eat my way through Vegas when I'm not playing poker (which will not be often, but enough to enjoy some great food).

I had the buffet right after I moved here, and it didn't do anything for me (probably "good-not-great"), but I moved from a place with an incredible selection of Indian food. Took me some time (and disappointment in everywhere else) to see that Mint is best-in-class.

I'll do mint buffet soon and report back.

That's the gas station mexican place that's so ****ing good.
As soon as you said "Gas station Mexican" I knew it would be this place. Used to live around there and loved the food.

Roberto's is only the best burrito in Las Vegas if everything else is closed, and if that's the case...just wait until anything else opens.

Is there something they do particularly well?

Went to China Mama last night. Way better than my initial impression. Had XLB (is there another place in Vegas that does soup dumplings?) which were good, twice cooked pork with these leeks - really good, and "chow mein" but they do wide flat hand pulled noodles which were delicious though really tough to manage. Basically fork and knife required. Wish they did hand pulled thin(-ish) noodles.

Also heard good things about HK star and want to try Ramen Tatsu. If HK* and Tatsu are good, I might update my favorite shopping Ctr in vegas to that one over the monta/raku/nakamura-ya/kabuto shopping ctr.

Fukuburger doing sat/sun nights 4p-10p at Cromwell rear valet now

Gelato bar - 3849 spring mtn, in the shopping Ctr south of spring mtn just west of VV. Really really good gelatos (pineapple and coffee standouts IMO), super friendly staff. Can't believe it took me a year to find this place. Try it, trust me. Where else do people go for ice cream?

I do not understand the love for Fukuburger. I guess it's been a while and I should try it again but man Slidin Thru is so much better it's ridiculous.

I've never had Slidin' Thru, but I need to. I'm with Gobbo on Fukuburger. It's fine, but really overrated.

Have any of you tried Mochiko Chicken or Old School Pizzeria yet? Get out there and find out!
