Moved to LV in April 2014. So basically that.

That said, I do a handful of business in NY so I'm there a few times a year (except this year, of course)

I know I know but sometimes my aging body just can’t do more fatty meat

Usually you get better katsu at a katsu joint and better curry at a curry joint, but I used to really like the katsu at zen, so I'll look forward to the kare here.

Edit: I google-mapped it and it's on top of something called "Euphoria Wellness Marijuana Dispensary." Were you ravenously hungry when you ate there?
There was reggae(ish?) music on, wife and I were discussing how it felt hawaiian. The katsu and curry were both good, but like you I like the katsu and curry at zen too.

Lol, dispensary is next door.

PS - re:the rolls, it's a dying art. Bakeries are closing in NJ. Used to get rolls from Freedman's in Belmar, they made "Kneips Hard Rolls." They sold their recipe when it closed. One day I'll endeavor to make them at home.

Bread is not bad but I’ve become more of a Jersey Mikes guy recently. These all pale in comparison to what we got back home in WNY, DiBella’s and Wegmans grocery subs. People form PA with WaWa or whatever it’s called or Jersey folks can GTFOH.

Lol at putting Subway and Port Of Subs above any sandwich shop.

The bread is so crucial. Fifteen years ago first thing I did when I arrived in Atlantic City was to go to a sketchy neighborhood to get White House subs. The bread made every sub phenomenal despite every worker being rude and always worrying your car will be there when you leave

Chinese BBQ at this joint was awesome, highly recommend it. It's fast casual and you can get an individual bowl ($10ish) and don't have to eat it family style like most Chinese places.

Crispy skin pork belly was awesome.

Roast duck and bbq pork:

Hash House a Go Go is still closed for dinner. Really enjoyed casual dinner at Hardway 8 on water street. Schnitzel, meatloaf, fish n chips, bar burger, good fries. Surprisingly good.

Just checked Yelp for a Hardway 8 in Henderson and it popped up. Looks really solid gastro type pub food.

Yeah it isn’t gonna get any Michelin stars but it’s a nice little spot.

Not a whole lot of Michelin stars in Hendertucky. Folks there tend to judge a meal by whether it is better and cheaper than breakfast at the Emerald Casino.

When I lived in green valley a few of my favorite restaurants all had to close due to lack of business but places like nacho daddy would be packed to the gills every night.

Just want to be clear I prefer Mcdonalds over In n out, BK also for taste but always makes me sick. In N Out is written in its name, in and and straight out. I wouldn't feed it to my dog.

You managed to break the subjective-objective gap.
