IMO Casual is somewhere you don't have to get dressed up to go and you're not paying nearly $100 for a steak with no sides etc.

Hell's Kitchen at Caesars would be a posh night out for us. We just want to go somewhere in jeans and a collared t-shirt with sandals/sneakers (for the dude) and jeans and a nice top for the ladies.

I have to agree. I think <$40 a plate is my idea of casual (in Las Vegas). It's <$25 where I live. I realize other people live differently than I do. Like I know there is not a chance I would go anywhere that was >$100 per person for food. Just not worth it to me.

There's almost nowhere where it's 100/steak. Cut is one of the more expensive places, and most of their (non-wagyu, 20-ish oz or under) steaks are in the $70 range. And if you share food, you don't need 1 steak per person. Get sides, apps, etc. 5 of us went to Echo and Rig last night and got a bunch of apps/sides, a couple salads, a fish, 10 jumbo shrimp, 2 smaller/medium-sized steaks and a 45oz tomahawk ribeye. Bill was 351 + tip. No corkage and we drank 4 really nice bottles of wine. It was fantastic.

You can dress like this nearly everywhere in Vegas, even if some places you might feel underdressed.

Echo and Rig, Herbs and Rye, or Cleaver would be my recs based on everything you said except for the sandals. I usually wear a jacket and jeans when I go to these places, but you wouldn't feel out of place at all in a golf shirt and jeans, even with sandals. You'd be severely underdressed in beach- or pool-wear, but you'd be underdressed in that at Outback too.

Went to Mabel’s highly unimpressed. They don’t have baby back ribs which are my favorites. Got the spare ribs which were the smallest ones I’ve ever seen, and not particularly good. Brisket was pretty good, did like that. All the sauces were very underwhelming, and I had the fried potatoes which were maybe a 6/10. They give you white bread with the meal which may have been the highlight actually as it was quite good and dumping the brisket in there was nice. And they also give you sauerkraut w jalapeño in it and that was quite good and sweet pickles which were also good, but, would not go back and expensive.

Jessie Rae’s, Rollin’ Smoke, and John Mull’s Roadkill Grill are all better and way cheaper. Weak sauce (literally) Symon.

Damn, good to know. Sorry if i did you wrong. Not completely surprised given our experience, but we left feeling that we had just gone a little awry in our own ordering and that things would be better had we ordered something else.

No, I had to try it either way and I got a $10 off coupon if you spend $40. A friend of mine from Ohio told me she thought the location in Cleveland sucked too, so...there’s that. Maybe, I also ordered wrong, but if ordering ribs at a BBQ place is wrong, then for me it’s the wrong place.

I make a lot of bbq and just love it overall. Stick to the fatty brisket and the pig ears and you're going to have a good time. Those are what I would gravitate towards anyway so I see how someone's opinion would differ if they're more of a rib person.

The brisket was pretty good, but not amazing. The sauces, all of them, sucked...and they would have helped everything.

Not a big lunch person but honey salt was fantastic.

I've never been a fan of 'que that has to be covered up with a sauce. A good rub and use of smoke SHOULD get all the flavor that brisket or ribs need. Admittedly, I know that some of this comes back to regional preferences, but when I have traveled, I just tend not to find barbecue that matches what I find throughout Central Texas (or that I do in my own smoker).

I know this is said a lot but I went few weeks ago, ate at Secret pizza which was amazing, Tacos el gordo was incredible (uber driver said there was a better place off strip) and Hattie B's I thought was beyond delicious.

As always, Grande luxe for most meals after poker when I wanted something quick and not crazy expensive, Jardins in Wynn was great too, had the forager slice at Aria after I busted out of a tournament, highly recommend.

I’ve come to appreciate some central Texas bbq, especially when it comes to brisket. I do believe other places have better pork ribs.

I would love to be proved wrong by you and that smoker.

Yeah, every Texas BBQ person I’ve ever met loves brisket...and it can be great (though I’ve never had any in Texas), but I’m into reeeeeyyyyyyyyuuuubs.

If you are in the southwest craft 595 is a great casual spot. Great beer list and their bar food is among some of the best I’ve had this year, especially the fried spicy chicken sandwich.

Their spicy chicken sandwich used to be one of the best I’ve ever had, then the last time I had it, they went literally insane with the spices and it was awful, almost inedible.

It was actually so good, my friend and I ordered one to go as well. Does suck when they don’t nail the heat.

Currently eating at smashed pig, ownership changed, they didn’t keep same recipes and just decided both the shrimp app and especially fish and chips weren’t worth the calories a few bites in and stopped. Music is super loud too, which is not my thing in a restaurant, I won’t be back.

Old Smashed Pig sucked too.

For bbq you have two choices - boss’s on green valley and big b’s on st rose. Boss’s sides suck but the meats are legit and at big bs everything is real good, the best beans I’ve ever had.
