If it makes you feel better, downtown is still the nuts.

Thanks for this. I happen to be in San Diego now and went for lunch based on your post, it was awesome.

Has anyone tried Dutch Bros. Coffee on blue diamond as yet? There must have been 20 cars waiting in line at the drive thru and maybe 30 people waiting at the walk up window.

Oh that's great. Cant imagine how much an outpost would make on the strip or downtown.

Holy crap. I eat AYCE sushi weekly or every week and have been to most of the places around town. This place blows them out in terms of quality/service/rice:fish ratio. It was a bit of a drive for me, but man, I'm not going to another place again.

Order the nigiri, both seared salmon options are unreal, for rolls, get the super rainbow roll and the blossom roll. This place just blows away every other AYCE option in town and is up there with the better non AYCE options. Let me know how your experiences are.

Pro tip: pay the extra 5 dollars for the dinner option, the nigiri options are super high quality and come with fresh wasabi.

the firecracker roll looks like fire. is the whole menu included, apps and everything? was the service quick enough to get everything in in the 90 mins? could probably eat there all day, looking at some of that menu

went to Burger Bar, sat at Bar, Burger was upper echelon quality and i eat a lot of burgers. Bun (which are made daily) was a highlight as the burger and bacon were plenty juicy but the bun maintained complete structural integrity until the last bite.

Sweet potato fries were also S-tier, though nothing will ever beat the place that serves them with a maple syrup based sauce. Housemade Dijon was very good on the burger and as a fry dip as well, but obv not much needed.

Price was def Striptacular, burger with fries plus Dijon side and a iced tea was $25.66. Prob won’t be a regular here anytime soon without comps (MGM merging comps when?) but it really was a good burger.

note: i ate some of the fries before taking the pic, it came filled to the brim.

We ate all the things at Hachi last night for $100 out the door including a beer, then saw Penn & Teller, and then grabbed rolled ice cream from Flavyours by Sparrow and Wolf.

Hachi is one of those places that does everything well, and there aren't bad dishes. It's not sexy so I'm never like 'omfg need hachi now!' but every time I go, I wonder why I don't go more. Flavyours was our first rolled ice cream experience, and I am impressed -- not at the rolled nature but at the flavors (talk about anchoring -- I almost wrote flavours). We had the nutella something something with wafers and strawberries and the CREAM (Chocolate Rules Everything Around Me). Both were solid but would eat that nutella deal all day every day.

Bonus: Penn and Teller was great. We really enjoyed it. Sort of like Hachi in that there's no one thing that made the show, but we were solidly entertained throughout. Laughed quite a bit, and it's a lot of good cerebral fun talking thru the plausible mechanisms for the tricks, especially over ice cream. If you're Diamond, definitely consider using one month of tickets on this.

It looks like the Burger Bar at New York New York, and if it is, they give 10% off to locals if you show your id. Not much but it adds up. Burgers are definitely fire

Flippin Good Chicken on Fremont was incredible for pretty cheap. Friend and I both got Nashville hot chicken sandwiches and upgraded our sides to Nashville fried pickles and “flippin style fries” which are basically in n out animal style fries. Bill was like 31 (with a $3 soda on there). Had a good beer selection as well. Everything was top notch.

100% go to Jaleo at lunch for their $25 Lunch Like a Spaniard. Order the three items in the right column of the menu. Ridiculously good deal. Their drinks are overpriced, but their $20 gin and tonic is the best G&T I've had and the recipe sees a fair amount of daylight at my house. Alternatively, buy two nips from Walgreens first and absorb on way then drink water at Jaleo and have drinks afterwards somewhere cheap.
