Augie, seriously, get out of my head!

Broccoli has always been my favorite vegetable, I can only eat a steak/burger well done, and I don't like PB&J.

We may be brothers...name your least favorite vegetable.

Whoa, celery is awesome! Chopped into little bits, it makes chicken salad crunchy without actually doing anything to the taste. And sprayed with Cheez-whiz, you can eat it by the stick.

I had never had meat not well done until I was 23 or so (28 now). I ordered a steak at a tapinyaki place well done, and the cook new it was my birthday. He said, here let me make this for you, pulling out a filet mingon, and said if I didn't like it the meal was on him. He made it medium, and I loved it. I think I may have ordered steak medium-well a few more times, but it's now always medium, and always think of pulling the trigger on the medium-rare. I still get my hamburgers well done, and probably always will.

The well done meat thing is a product of my dad's cooking and growing up with that. Everything was well done, and more often than not more than well done.

PBJ, damn I think I've had 2 as 3am snacks after poker the last couple of weeks.

Also, add me to weird eating trends as a child that bordered on aspberger-ish (not a joke, was honestly a concern of my parents when I was a youngster) I liked all orange foods and liked to see them together...Oranges, mac and cheese, cheese curls, Orange Juice. I grew out of this somewhere along the line, but I'm still reminded of it every time I see a bunch of orange foods together.

All the PBJ talk just sparked me to run downstairs and whirl one up. It's been a few months. Orowheat whole wheat bread, Jif (creamy), cherry preserves, and the piece of resistence, Grapenuts to give it crunch. Yum. And it's 3am, just like it's supposed to be when you are >15yo and eat a PBJ.

I'd include pictures but I don't want y'all drooling over your keyboards.

As for vegetarian... try one of the Ethiopian places in town. I don't do veggies-only, but I think they could swing it just fine.

I think well done steak is purely a function of parental bad cooking. My mom can burn a salad and she insisted on steak well done because she didn't actually know the difference. My kids will at times literally lick their plates to get the juices from their med-rare/rare steaks and have actually rejected a couple steaks I have cooked for them because they were overdone at medium. They are 5 and 3. I would like to have my mom cook them steaks and record their reactions on hidden video.

Well, my mom could burn water.

Raw vegetables are the devil......I've always had a thing against "crunchy" vegetables. I also used to never eat lettuce/salad and I'm pretty sure it's because of the big "white" crunchy pieces ruining it for me.

I assume you could probably get a good matzo ball soup at Carnegie in Mirage or Canter's at TI.

If you're used to anything of high quality from Chicago then you will not find anything to your liking anywhere else.

Pull the trigger on medium rare. You won't regret it.

Deep dish or stuffed?

I had Metro stuffed pizza in Vegas a few years back. Wasn't bad and will fix a stuffed pizza jones. Can't vouch for any deep dish.

I won't eat pizza in Vegas. I'll wait for some Lou Malnati's until I get home. There's so many other things to eat in Vegas. Life is too short to eat sub-standard Zaa.

Can anyone recommend a good Chinese restaurant somewhere on the strip? I'll be staying at Caesars.

Someone will say PF Changs at Planet Hollywood, and they'll be wrong.

If it's noodles you're after, the noodle places at Venetian and Bellagio are good. No idea if the one at Caesars is any good.

On the Vegetarian discussion, I had no problems anywhere, Veggie Burger in Burger Bar is amazing, decent veggie burgers in most of those type of places, Cafe Lux and the like had plenty of options compared to what Im used to, plenty of pasta dishes etc had the option of adding chicken but were good meals without.

On the Chinese, was well impressed with Pearl in the MGM but is probably more towards fine dining. Well worth checking out chinatown for more casual restaurants if you're willing to go off strip.

The last time I was there was about a year ago, and I had the combination platter (hummus, tabuli, stuffed grape leaves, falafel, yogurt-cucumber dip, baba ganosh and athens fries). It was yummy.

Went to Burger bar at the bay. They gave us 20 min to read the menu, 15 more to bring a beer, and 20 more to drink it before the burger was ready. I wanted to leave an itemized tip.

Went to Naked Fish. We had all the Items on the Happy Hour Menu (and some more). Spent somewhere around 135$ including tip for 5 people and am definitely going back for more. Good Value, Good Sushi!

Went to Outback the other day. Had a very funny & awesome waiter (Joey at the Outback close to the Las Vegas Premium Outlets) and a good meal. Definitely worth a visit too.

Not really a noodle fan... A non chain Chinese restaurant that is similar to Pf Changs would be nice...
