After another 'monster-session' of sleep (4 hours only again), I started my day again with my usual 1-3 NL morning session at Aria:
In short: Clock in at 5am, clock out at 10am, +697 USD profit. Not too bad. Had a fun 3bet-4bet battle going on during that session with an attractive Indian chick wearing a 'Super Girl' t-shirt... Only bothering part was that she had position on me... Still managed to stack her...
... I love poker chicks who play as laggy as me... It's hot in my books...
Checked emails and 2+2 in my room after that, tried to sleep again, didn't work...
Hence off to the Aria Buffet for which I had a comp ticket from the poker room. Buffet was 'meh', food and ambience was ok, service was super slow though even though the place was maybe 2/3 occupied...
Back to the room after that and finally I was able to get some sleep. Since Friday night I slept only 3 hours on average per night, so I got worried a bit...
I woke up refreshed at 10pm and decided to check out the South strip casinos.
Unfortunately Mandalay Bay is not on the Bravo Poker App (I highly recommend this app to anyone who is visiting Vegas btw), so I had to call in to see what is going on. Two games 1-2 NL were running at that point. I asked to put my name on the waiting list.
As I arrived they just started a new table which I was able to join immediately. The room has 10 tables in total, professional staff and good dealers. The player pool was very soft, I guess due to the location on the strip. So to sum up a good place to play.
Mandalay Bay session result: Clocked out after 2.5 hours with 582 USD profit.
Next stop Luxor:
Got seated after 20 minutes on the waiting list, table a mixture of old tourists and young Euro guys who are obviously here for the series. Drunk guy to my immediate right. I know most of you like playing with drunks in terms of EV, but that guy slowed down the game so much, it was starting to tilt me big time. It was a nice fellow though.
Only two hands worth mentioning in the two hour session I clocked there:
1) Two way all-in for full buy-ins, hero has top two pair, villain has a flush draw and hits it on the river. Pretty standard.
2) Elderly tourist (playing 300 USD) raises to 10 USD UTG+2, drunk guy (100 USD) calls, hero (320 USD) wakes up with KK on the button and repops it to 40 USD, elderly tourist grabs with two hands two fistful of chips from his stack and slams it in the middle, drunk guy folds... Dealer counts 164 USD to call... Hero tries getting info from villain. Villain visibly excited, shaking and quite talkative... Hero open folds KK...villains shows JJ... I normally never fold KK in low limit NL, but this time I was absolutely sure he had the nuts... Well at least I was able to produce some laughter at the table...
Started to tilt, hence left shortly after: session result -303 USD, 2 hours played..
Excalibur is next on the list. When I arrive it's 4.45am and only one 1-2 NL table is still running.
I join and stay until the table breaks three hours later... Result: -419 USD... Variance was not my friend in that session... Can't say anything about the regular player pool there due to time of the day. Room is nothing spectacular but has friendly staff and good dealers.
Back to my home base. Not tired, hence Aria 1-3 NL it is again. Clock says 08.00am and...
... I enter poker god mode... I call down pot size river bets with Ace high and I am good, I value bet mid pairs, I induce shoves against me holding the nuts, I overbet pot on the river with the nuts and get called and so on... And flopping the nuts does help sometimes as well
...
...Don't you love this feeling when all your reads are spot on and when you exploit each opponent to the maximum? I think it's the ultimate rush in poker when you are completely 'in the zone' so to speak...
... And on that high note I stopped playing after 5 hours with a whopping profit of 1407 USD...
Time to get some sleep...
Cash game results up to and including 5/28/2013 (I included today's morning session at Aria here as well, since I was pulling an all-nighter):
