The details on dinner and poker have been finalized. The Golden Nugget has graciously offered to host us on July 3rd. Only a ~$15 cab ride from the Strip, the Golden Nugget is the premier downtown casino property.

Dinner

Dinner will be 7PM at The Golden Nugget Buffet. For a group of our size, a buffet is the best way to allow people to arrive at their own pace. The Golden Nugget will offer us seating together so everyone can mingle while enjoying dinner. Individual cost should be right around $20 (that leaves more money for me to win from you later).


Poker

From June 6 - July 6, they are offering over 50 tables of action in The Grand .

On the night of July 3rd, around 10PM, there will be tables set aside for 2+2 mixed games. Each table will decide what game (can you say Badugi or Double Flop Omaha) they want to play. The stakes are expected to be $2/$4 limit variety unless there a demand for something different. This special poker room will be one of the nicest rooms in town. Don't miss out on the opportunity to play in it with your fellow 2+2 ers.

For you tourney donks, they have a nightly $125 buy-in (with rebuys I believe) that starts at 10PM. Feel free to play the Tourney and then join in the cash games afterwards.

Hotel Rooms

The Golden Nugget is offering (while supplies last so book now) a special discount poker rate of $59 a weeknight and $99 a night on weekends (even July 4th). To take advantage of this offer, you need only to call their reservation number at 1-800-634-3454 and use the discount code "poker."

YES. And its not cool to even ask that here my man, it places our friends at the Nugget at risk. You would only get kicked out (possibly for life if they put you on on their banned player list), but the Nugget staff can be fined or have licensing issues if you are caught playing underage in a casino. Come and hang out because it will be a blast, but don't play please :-)

This is lawl on a couple levels for me.

I'll also play if TT gives me back 75% of my losses. I think that's about fair.

I would also be up for more "unconventional" games, but think 2/4 is a little high for these kinds of games considering that many attendees are grinding serious NL at or below that level... dont know if GN is willing to deal smaller limits though? (potential rake issue) if we play at that level perhaps some mixed games (HA/HORSE) could be an idea?

2/4 limit, not NL. That's as small a game as you'll get in Vegas.

no problem playing 2/4... but maybe not Badugi or chinese ... anyway since the tables decide for themselves im sure there will be plenty of games to suit everyone...

The point was just that while many will be comfortable playing normal games at 2/4 perhaps fewer will feel like spewing 1-2K on badugi, but on the other side it would be a ton of fun to play these games LIVE, wherefore if it could be on a level where more people would be comfortable and casual about the high variance which these games are prone too, it could be a lot of fun

Nobody's losing $1k by accident. I think everyone lost between $200-$300 last year. The only winners were the dealers and waitresses
