Trying not to be results orientated...... Bad play on my part or do I normally get a fold from 9s in that spot? (For background, this was biggest pot at the table so far and she hadn’t called light in the couple of hours at the table, although she has been active pre-flop and folded to a few pre-flop 3bets).

What are you putting her on when she calls a raise on the flop on that board that you think will fold to a jam on a semi safe card? 2 shouldn’t change anything.

I think based on the preflop raise, flop continuation and call on a raise it looks like a set or over pair. If you think the player is a thinking player, shove is great as this flop hits your calling range much better than her preflop raising range depending on position. Against people that overvalue high PPs, it’s a bad shove.

I put her on what she had, an overpair, although I thought it would be bigger than 9s. I also thought she’d be able to let an overpair go when my hand looks very much like a set.

When my outs increased on the turn, it felt like a definite shove spot. Clearly I wrongly assessed her likelihood of folding, but I still suspect that it gets the job done against most players.

Well played imo.
Based on your read; she defo seemed capable of letting 9's go into that spot.

Cheers for the TR, quality as always and getting me excited for my trip June 14th.
Best of luck

Your line seems okay in the 55 vs. 99 hand. Even if she is one of the rare players in a low stakes NL game on the strip that is comfortable with range building and GTO, she doesn't have an easy decision on the turn. Given the action, JJ, TT, 77, 44, 33 and even QQ are in your range, and she has to dodge a few cards if you have 55 or 66. In general, I think the aggressive line against this type of opponent is probably +EV, but I'm no expert.

Enjoying the TR, good luck

maybe want to meet up for lunch or supper one day? I’m an LV local and have been playing online since 2004 and am a reg at 1/3 and 2/5 at Bellagio, Aria, and Wynn. I should be at the Bellagio tonight from about 8pm for a 16-30 hour session as my average session is 24 hours during WSOP time.

This session at Bellagio is a bit of a struggle and I keep getting outflopped when I do have a playable hand.

A little salt was sprinkled in that scratch of frustration when I straddled $6 UTG and everyone folded, even the blinds. Initially happy with getting what is essentially a walk, I look down to see what hand I did have. Pocket Kings.

Spent a couple of hours fighting sleepiness and card deadness at the Bellagio last night before jamming a flush draw that inevitably and predictably didn’t get there. Said a quick hello to CWsports and then hit the hay.

Jetlag is still showing me who the boss is by waking me up at 3.45am. After an unsuccessful effort to put that bastard in its place, I find myself at Earl of Sandwich for breakfast and drinking a grande from Trooper’s favourite beverage retailer. The plan today is to play some very untaxing poker in Planet Hollywood whilst the caffeine takes hold, and then probably jump over to the Aria. But the highlight will be seeing my brother later on - he is due to land just after 7pm tonight and to say I’m looking forward to seeing him would be the dictionary definition of understatement.

Run good everyone that is still firing in the Colossus, and safe flight Donk Dunc’s Bro!

Good shove, but people at most cash games just don't like folding overpairs, especially on the turn. They always think someone is "getting fancy" with AK.

Apparently AcQx is no good against AKc on a QJTccc flop. Who woulda thunk it?

At least it was only a $650 pot.
Good luck on the rest of the trip.
