Last part!

So after the heavy Sunday on the booze and getting to bed at 4am the best thing my body could do was wake up at 9am! My head was pounding and I could feel the worst hangover coming so I decided to fight it, get up and take a trip to CVS for some paracetamol and enough water to fill the hoover dam. After a hour I was feeling back to my usual self just super tired and not really up for anything. The guys send a message in the group chat asking if anyone wanted to play the $200 Daily MTT at the Wynn at 11am. Now I have said all trip I dislike MTTs but I agreed to play but there was no way I was starting at level 1. Managed an extra hours sleep and decide to get a cab to the Wynn.

For daily tournaments the Wynns 10k GTD is actually pretty good. The standard is basic, the structure is good with 30 min levels so there is plenty of play in the early stages and if you are a stupid drunk like me you can late reg and still have a good stack. I entered level 3 and by the time it got to the end of the re entry stage I was on around 140k by simply getting away with murder. It seemed no one on my table knew what to do when I three bet so I did it alot! Just picking up alot of small pots preflop or taking the other pots on the flop or turn. I can safely say I did not get to showdown once which was good as I was not hitting anything to show down. Being one of the top stacks in the room and with 50 odd players left and nearly 6k up top I was feeling pretty confident.

A few hands later after the 2nd break I tangle with a lady who was super passive and I had bullied her all tournament. There are two limps and she shoves her 9bb stack on the cut off. I look down at AKss in the sb so re pop it to around 25bb to ISO and the limpers get out the way. She turns over AJ and I am on course to take her out until she smacks a J on the turn. Groan!

I tangle with her later when she raises 3x in MP and I find two black aces, being next to act I 3 bet and she shoves. Clearly I snap, she turns over JJ and can you guess what comes on the turn? Yep another J. Feeling a bit of tilt now so I walk away from the table for a couple of hands. I have gone from having around 90bb to 50 or so bb.

When I sit back down I am in the BB with TT. A competent young guy raises 2.5x which get 2 callers including the lady who has smashed me twice. I am not calling here to in theory set mine so I 3 bet (cannot remember to what). The young guy rage folds a little complaining about how active I have been and the lady says she has had enough of this so shoves! Stack wise calling here leaves me around 13bb from about a 40bb stack (this maybe a little off as I had not written notes). It's a clear call in my eyes and we are shown two black 9s. Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee I think to myself but oh no no the poker gods did not like my evening of drinking and chatting women up so they decided to bless her with a 4 flush on the river. To make it even saltier it was the Tc which gave me trips!

We see QTcc on the button a little later and another active guy from the HJ raises 2.5x and we think this is a prime spot to rip 16bb here as even if we do get called we are usually around 30% from a whole range of hands. He calls and shows AK. Flop comes T high and we are toasting the gods thanking them for their forgiveness and telling them it will not happen again. However they know I was lying when they bless the other player with an A on the river. Just like that we go from hero to zero. The only positive thing was the table gave a sigh of relief as I was leaving which meant one of two things. I was playing well and they hated it or I had a really bad personal hygiene problem. Lets take the former shall we?

Decided to look at the cash tables but I was not feeling it and thought it might be best to get a little more rest so I decided to walk back to the room and maybe get a little more sleep. The sphere was looking pretty good on the way back and I wanted to buy some t shirts so popped into Culture Kings as I like the fit of the t shirts there.



After a couple of hours sleep I wake up around 7pm to a text from the girl last night or was it the morning asking if I was playing again at the Horseshoe. The others were playing the 9pm game at Caesars because they all busted the Wynn and I though why with the crapshoot at the Horseshoe. Not going to bore you all with the details but I shipped it again for $1100. The lady from the night before was there so we chatted some more, went for a couple of drinks but I just needed the early night as the day before had killed me. I did realise that I had not eaten since 4am so we grabbed a quick bite to eat before I went to bed.

Tuesday was my last day and with a flight at 9pm I still had plenty of time to do a few things but I decided to buy the kids some stuff at the M&M store, check out at 11am and head to Ellis Island with the others for a meal. I had spagetti and meatballs for lunch which was ok. Not something I would get again but the food at Ellis is not always the best in my mind.

After I got back I sat on the BJ table with $500 and spent the next 4 hours playing BJ. I am not a bonus bet player but the other two on my table were screaming at me when I hit 7 freebets in one hand which would have paid 100/1. Knowing I was already massively up for the trip it did not bother me but it did them for some reason.



What made it funnier was the next hand I hit 5 freebets in one hand so I would have had chunks. At that time I had built up my chips to $1200 and it was time to go so what is the last thing a degen gambler does on his last hand?? Oh that's right I hear you say go all in! So final hand of the Vegas trip:

Then a 9

Ok 19 and the dealer is showing a 4!

Other two lose and I have another $1200 come my way. As this one kept me entertained all trip and was one of the best dealers I have spoken to (not because of the last win) but due to her making the game interesting I tipped her $400 and kept the $2k. Even the pit boss came over to thank me for tipping her that amount so it obviously meant something.

Anyway get a taxi back to the airport. See the flight is delayed by a hour and there were no upgrades so I decided to pay for the lounge, have plenty of food, get some sleep and have a pretty boring flight home.

And just like that my week in Vegas was over and I was back to normal life. I did however sign up to Caesars rewards and managed to get close to Diamond for the trip (missed out by like 1k points). But we are platinum now so there is another plus I think. Forgot to add that lady I met even texted me when I was on the plane to see if I wanted to go for drinks with her again. Must have done something right there!

My totals are all ****ed but I know slots and roulette I was down. Poker and BJ I was up massively as I came back with far more than I started. Note for next year, keep better notes and don't fall off.

Thanks all for reading my TR. I do enjoy doing these and I felt a little bad for falling off a cliff a little near the end but I think with the news back at home, the sheer amount of drink I did in one day and a week just killing me physically the last part was tough.

Gotta love a TR which includes TWO tournament wins - and not a single hand from either of them

LOL that is a fair comment I did not even realise that.

The first win I was so drunk the only thing I was paying attention to was the waitress. I just kept hitting top pair and got paid each time.

Likewise with the second win. The problem is with these dailies at the horseshoe is that they are just utter crapshoots after level 6 so no much poker is played.

Already planning my next trip hopefully in March as I have some comps I need to use up

Thought I would update this quickly as I just had a grim email from Caesars today. My calculations on table games/slots was well out, well they are according to Caesars. Just had my profit/loss statement from them and considering this only includes the trip from November it makes for grim reading!



Anyway thought I would share and say pit games are bad m'kay. Thank god for the 2/5 and Horseshoe tournaments that trip. I did wonder why they are happy to comp my rooms next month. Guess now I know



Anyway not long now till March and the next TR. All the ones I have read so far have made me miss Vegas so much!!

Ugh. I hope you got a nice suite. If not, maybe my husband was joking when he said he lost only $6,000 playing pit games and they gave us a 2 bed, 2 1/2 bath with a six-seat dining table, living room, and popup big screen TV in the master! LOL.
