So after a shower and wind down I felt alot better. As my friend said to me don't be an expresso depresso.

With that thought I played some BJ to wind down and the universe did me a solid. In for $100 out for $550. That's the buy in for the tournament recovered which always feels nice.

Just as I was going to get a bite to eat the gang texted to say they were going to Caesars palace to playing the 9pm daily and drink. Obviously this is a snap call well apart from the tournament part. I head down there and get a seat at the 1/3 table.

A hour in and I am sat on $925. Hands will follow later as this table is hot.

Excellent TR so far - how much was the flight upgrade if you don't mind me asking?

£700 in the end which I thought was not too bad. Had an amazing night last night which covered this cost. Will do a recap later but just in the gym.

So last night continued

As you saw earlier I may have been running hotter than the sun. Managed to finish the session on $1175

A few of the big hands.

I limp UTG with 33 and we are 7 handed. All 7 go to the flop as everyone on this table clearly been listening to Dnegs limping is pimping.

Flop 3dTd8h

Checks to me and I lead for 10. Button min clicks it to 20 and the BB flats. This is far too much of a wet board to call here and I came to make some monies so I pump it back up to 100. Button folds and the BB tanks for a bit and eventually calls.

Turn is the 7s and he checks to me. With just a pot size bet left I just jam and he goes all the way into the tank. After around a minute he says the words I want to hear and that was "well I am priced in now so have to call".

River 7d and he proudly shows his flush with Q8dd and I roll over my full house for a full double up.

A little later I am in the BB with 44 and an OMC raises big on the button to 21. Now this is always a fold in my eyes against a player so nitty his range is only top 2% of hands but I did not fly all this way to fold and if I do hit the set here I am winning big.

Flop 437 rainbow

The absolute dream. I check it over to him and he indeed bets big again to the tune of 40. I call hoping he will hang himself on the turn.

Turn 9

I check and this time he bets 100. Yep confirmed overpair I have in my head. I call

River is another 3 so we have the boat and I don't want him checking this back so I just jam. He asks if I have the 3 to which I say "I will happily confirm there is no 3 in my hand at all". He says "alright then I am good and calls". I turn my boat over and he angrily mutters something under his breath, shows AA and heads out of the room.

Third other big hand was a bit of a cooler for the other guy where he straddles the button to 6 and I find AA in the BB. I raise this to big to 30 as we one caller who folds to my raise but the button straddle called.

Flop A86.

I bet small now 15 and get repopped to 80!!! Ok this guy has a monster so I just get 250 which is what he started off with the hand and he snaps.
Shows me 88 and we have that horrible situation of set over set. It's really nice to be on the correct side of that coin.

So all in all a bit of an up and down day with the bad news about my friend but we picked ourselves up!

Today has started off with a gym session, a walk around the Bellagio and a spot of breakfast at Denny's again. Not the place I wanted to go to but there were a few of the gang who wanted to try the place. So much for healthy eating while I am here. Did have some fruit!

The gang are off to the Wynn in a bit for the daily comps there so I think I will join them but play cash instead because LOLdonkaments.

Having to write this day 3 now while it's fresh in my mind.

So after the walk in the morning as described earlier and breakfast with the guys I had back to the room for a shower and to relax. Yesterday's events are a thing in the past now and I need to look forward to the holiday.

I decide to get a taxi to the Wynn and am talked into playing the tournament. $200 buy in, 20k stack and 30 min blinds means the structure is not too bad and does not feel like a turbo. As we arrive later than guys I late reg into level 3.

Honestly I cannot talk too much about the tournament as not much really happened. We won a few hands, we lost a few and stuck around the 25k mark nearly all tournament. It got to the 1/2k level it folds to an active small blind who raises 5k. We look down at KJdd and it a clear shove. Obviously we find a time to get snapped by AJ and despite the flop giving us some hope in 5QT we miss our open ender.

Sigh a deepish run but no luck when we need it. Tournaments are so disheartening at times. Some good news is one of the gang took 4th for 2k so I am really pleased for him.

I decide to play some 1/3 at the Wynn for a bit to pass the time. I buy in for tree fiddy and the table is like a scene out of crazy rich Asians as I was the only non Asian at the table

Like with the tournament there is not much to report as the table was pretty much raise and take. Some of the players had dinner reservations so we had a few more but not much changed. I did manage to pull off a bluff with 72 in a pot I had no business in being in but my story I was trying to tell checked out and I got a fold on the flop to finish in some profit for the session.

$435 so a profit of $85 for the small session.

At this point I just wanted to shower as the Wynn was hot so I walked back took a few pictures and did what I needed to do once I got back to the Cromwell

The night was young and I wanted to play some more cash poker. I had totally resigned myself to actually doing anything else as the others were heading to Caesars Palace to play the 9pm tournament. So Bellagio 2/5 was in order.

After walking myself over there I noticed one thing and that was these games were going to be boring. Plenty of hoodie wearing bots so I checked Bravo and noticed Caesars was running 2 tables of 2/5 so I went there instead.

We were immediately seated in a 6 handed game with $500. You will have to excuse to poor hand histories here as I had no time to write them as the action was fast paced. However we won a big pot bluffing a young Asian guy with his girlfriend sat by him on a K high board with 9 high (like a boss).

We picked up JJ and stacked someone on a 9 high board when he was holding A9. He immediately went on tilt and 5 hands later I stacked him again with AQ on an Ace high board. No idea what he was holding as his cards went into the muck quicker than the cars at the F1 here. We also made a straight flush that got paid.

Chip pr0n incoming

As I am racking up due to the game dying I look down at QQ UTG. Thinking oh well here goes some back to the players I gain another $500 to my stack as a professional Baccarat player (his words not mine) donated with K9 on a 9 high board.

We finished on $2060 for a profit of $1560. I wish I had more words to describe how I am feeling right now but I am so tired and I forgot to eat all day due to being so busy. A subway sandwich was all I got on the walk back.

Then at the Cromwell I decided it's not time for bed yet as I wanted to call the wife and kids as it was the morning and I could catch them before school. So to kill time I ended up putting $100 in and ending up hitting a bonus early on for $450ish!!

Day 3 totals

Tournaments -$600
Cash Poker + $2,665
Blackjack +$450
Slots +$351

Total profit $2,866

You know I thought about that last night and I promise I will get some attractive ladies on this thread. Jet lag has gotten to me the last few nights and I had been fighting to stay awake come 10pm so have been finishing up sessions by 11pm. Pretty sure a few energy drinks will keep me awake!

I go from Europe as well, struggle with jet lag like crazy but the other way around. During my last couple of trips I just went to bed like 3 pm Vegas time and woke up midnight and played midnight to afternoon. Much better for poker as well, but a bit challenging for food.

Well boy did I get consumed by Vegas yesterday!

As it was Black Friday the group wanted to go shopping at 6am so I was woken up by the guy I was sharing a room with at that time. I am not one to shop unless I really need something so declined knowing how utterly terrible the shopping centres would be. Getting a picture sent later on in the morning confirmed my decision to be a good one.

Now after the gym in the morning this is when my whole day turns upside down. I get a taxi to the Orleans as my partner wanted what she said was a 'naughty gift' and I know there is an adult store next to the casino (in the words of Borat naughty naughty). Anyway I decide for the hell of it to play a tournament as I am determined to actually cash one this week in Vegas.

A couple of levels in I raise on the button to 2.5ishx (cannot remember levels as the day is a blur). SB and BB calls.

You will see the board but we managed to get it all in on the turn against these holdings (yes AA flatted)

Then usual tournament nonsense happened. I grind my stack back up from 10bb to someone average chips then as the levels get bigger just lose every race against the short stacks to put me short again. Then shove my own 11bb stack with KK only to get snapped by A2 and lose. That is enough for me and I do not re enter.

Has to be said the Orleans is a pretty cool card room and a little more relaxed than the usual on the strip rooms. Breakfast of choice was pizza. Yep terrible I know but what the heck it just adds to the Trainwreck of the day

Get myself over to the adult store and have to admit my eyes were opened a little bit. I am no prude to these things but why on earth are they selling a hammer the size of Thor's!

Also I am fully aware I maybe sharing a bit too much info but whatever. Happened to find some funny bears also. Dont think I will be buying any of the kids anytime soon

After buying my surprise gift I get an Uber back to the strip, put my things away, have a shower and it's time to get back to playing some poker. I bump into one of the guys and he was going as well but he wanted something to eat first. For some reason he wanted McDonald's. Never understand why but I went with him, got myself a drink and we chatted while he ate. He has been busy playing at the Aria the day before and kinda fan boyed the whole experience which I am pleased for him as this is his first trip here.

I decided to show him around the shops at Ceasars as he likes his snap backs and they have culture crew there which has mountains of hats. He was super pleased and got himself an LA Lakers one. I also got myself a couple of t shirts as why not you can never have enough.

WARNING THE REST OF THIS DAY IS A COMPLETE CAR CRASH.

He loves tournaments and decided to play the 6pm game at Ceasars. For $100 I decide F it one more won't hurt. I splash around in the tournament, get chatting to a lovely lady to my right who we shared alot in common with. The drinks were flowing and I somehow make the final 12 with plenty of alcohol in my system.

However it had got into push or fold mode with average stack around 7bb. Folds to me with Q9 in the Sb so I shove, get called by K3 and miss. Oh well.

I immediately reg a 1/3 game and win around $30 in about a hour, drinking and being merry. By this time I had alot in my system and think it's a good idea to play blackjack. The rest of the events of the evening/morning are a bit of a blur. I know I played slots, BJ, roulette, three card poker and video poker at the bar while being spoken to by a lovely lady of the night. I still had my wits about me and never accepted an offer by her.

I also know I went back to the Cromwell where the nightclub was in full flow. Again I played casino games there till around 8am! Not knowing how much I had won or lost I did a count this morning and I am now minus $200 for the whole trip so I managed to blow 3k in the pits!

Final total for the trip so far

-$206

Ok so the road to recovery is always pretty sweet right?

It's now Monday morning and I have realised I have not done an update about Saturday or even Sunday yet so here goes!

So Saturday was a bit of a non starter for me. As I had been up 26-27 hours I slept in till around 4pm when I was woken up to a message saying the group were heading to Freemont street for a few drinks, walk around and to find something to eat. Feeling like I have wasted a day because of antics the day before I jump out if bed, shower and get a taxi to Freemont.

The chiefs are in town and the party atmosphere is buzzing!

After getting some food we head back to Ceasars where the group wants to play the tournament there and then head to Omina as we have tickets. Still being massively tired from earlier I pass on the nightclub (not really my thing anyway), skip the tournament and playing some 2/5.

The poker room is buzzing with 3 full 2/5 tables, tons of 1/3 and it took me around 20 mins to get a seat. As tables go this was one of the worst. There was a crazy Asian kid who had 4k Infront of him and a few pretty serious and miserable regs. Nothing really to report apart from one hand that summed the way the small session went.

Crazy Asian opens to 15. We look down at JJ on the button and go ahead and 3 bet it to 45. The Sb and bb flat because of course they have a chip in the pot and it's not a time to fold. The opener calls as well.

Flop QTT two spades.

Bb leads for 20
Sb calls
CO pumps it up to 145

Of course someone has a Q and I am miles behind so I fold. BB then goes all in for 700 to which is snapped by CO.

Hands I am shown are Q4 in th BB and T9 for the CO.

After a few more raises by myself which completely whiff every flop and betting like the previous hand I decided to take my 145 loss on the table and call it another day.

Asleep by 11pm! What a baller

Sunday was a far better day. After a great sleep I go for a walk and message the group that I would like to go to the American football game and 3 of the group want to go also.

We book 4 tickets, go to Ellis Island and have a spot of breakfast before heading to the stadium. I have not really eaten much this trip and that habit continues when I cannot eat my pancakes I ordered (portion sizes far too large)

After breakfast we walk to the Flamingo to get a taxi to the stadium but instead we are directed to a bus that will take us to right outside where we need to go. It was one of the party buses and with free beers in it the bus was buzzing

The Allegiant stadium is huge and one of the best I have been to in a long time. I follow soccer (proper football) back home and go to alot of grounds and not seen one as nice as this.

The beers flow, the atmosphere is electric and despite American football being so slow to watch due to the sheer amount of breaks in it we all have a great time and was an amazing first game experience.

I am pretty drunk by the time we get back to the Cromwell and make the decision to join the rest of the group for the 8pm donkament at the horseshoe as I want to carry on drinking and having a good time. While I wait for the others to get ready I play a bit of free bet blackjack at the Cromwell and win around 500.

The tournament at the horseshoe is one of worst structures out there with 20' min levels and huge blind jumps. I don't care as I am seeing it as an excuse to drink and play a stupidly aggro but fun style of poker. Clearly the players could not adapt to this mixed with a bit of run good and I managed to take down the tournament to the tune of 1600.

The night finished off with more drinks and a very late dinner in Paris with a lady I was speaking to at the table. We chatted for ages about our lives and around 4am decide its time to get some sleep as she had work at 6am! Good luck her.

Not sure what to do now today. Don't fancy staying in but also don't want to go gamble. The group are all playing still so I might find out what they are doing this evening.

congrats on the tourney win - just read the entire thread...swingy!

now that you've been at the Cromwell...what are your thoughts? I've heard that it's really noisy...both from the club and also the street - is that true?

what is the resort environment like...places to eat, gym, pool etc?

Oh the swings do get better. Not had the chance to update the last couple of days as they have been non stop and I broke my habit of note taking. I promise to update later today though as we had alot of fun!

@Feel wrath The Cromwell I do not suggest one bit. Its so so noisy with the tram making a noise every 10-15 mins, the club and the walls being paper thin (I did hear some dude give a chick the best 45 seconds of her life). It is not really a resort either as there is like one bar and one takeaway cafe. The gym was tiny as it had one treadmill, a rowing machine and a cross trainer. The funniest if not scariest part of the room I had was the mirror by the shower was a see through one so if you are showering anyone else in the room can see you doing so from the bedroom!
