Hello Vegas Locals,

I'm going to be staying in Vegas at a rental and will be on my own for internet service. I'm considering The Cox prepaid (straightupinternet), which I know there are numerous access points in the area and will work. Does anyone have any experience with it? In the area, they don't market or offer the $50 monthly service, so I'm stuck w/ the $20/week plan which is technically for one device - does anyone know if a router can be that one device?

Also, if anyone knows of a better plan, I'm open to suggestions. Verizon 5g not offered at the address.

Thanks in advance!

AT&T works well for my travel to create a mobile hotspot.

I am surprised Verizon does not have a competitive service.

I hot spot on Verizon frequently. I suspect it his like a army days Of broadband where cable companies tried to limit to single device but simple software on a cmputer computer easily defeated this and was effectively unstoppable so they gave up.

As to V not having 5G. If is my understanding where V has 5G it is resal with real 5G speeds. Other carriers claim to 5G and are technically providing it but not with full benefits if 5G. V opinion is roll out slower but better. YMMV.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

Turns out I "defeated" Cox's stupid systems. I think they wouldn't sell me the prepaid internet b/c the prior owner of the place had cable w/ them and the address was in the system - I presume they don't like people avoiding contracts and going by the month on a cheap plan. By typing in the address slightly differently (unit 123 instead of just 123), I was able to order it online even though calling them directly and typing the address in w/o the work "unit" didn't work b/c of the address matching a prior account.

Crazy.

Cox is pretty bad, dishonest and genuinely disingenuous .... on a good day.

"We're not afraid to call a spade a spade...We're Cox."

I don't get it why I didn't succeed in marketing.

"We don't suck. Cox."

It's all in the punctuation.
