From the last page: the AK hand is super standard. lol at anyone who is scared to get it in there. We do not tighten up just because we're taking a shot. (wtf LiveActionPro??) I wish you hadn't posted results.

My only problem was with you saying you missed a fifteen-out river when the money was all-in preflop Don't do that to yourself. That's not how it works.

Edit: Sorry for the strat chat, bav! I just got to this page.

Bless you for helping to reinforce this playing style for all the young guns out there. Attack their manhood and courage. What better way to thin the herd before WSOP than to encourage maximum variance. By golly you’re right, the rest of us are just a bunch of weak, cowardly puxxxxs. That is lol super standard

I mean maybe you are confusing me with someone else, but no part of your sentence describes me. I don't get it.

And I'm over-rolled for my current game and well-rolled for anything I would take a shot at, which I will be doing this month. His post was strange.

I don't have a problem with folding AK pre. I haven't done it in a long time, but I did it tonight.

UTG makes it $7 in a $1/$2 game and I make it $15 (I meant to go $20, but dropped a red chip and it didn't count). SB makes it $30, BB call and UTG says, 'the hell with it' and makes it $47 all-in. This opens up raising for SB to repop it, so I decide to fold. Somehow, this donkey only calls, allowing the the BB to call behind. I knew I had UTG crushed (he had TJ suited), but SB had KK and BB had 88 and the hand got checked down.

Sometimes, you have to trust your reads. If the price is wrong and you can get away from AK preflop there's nothing terrible about it.

What are effective stacks between you and SB? I'll make an argument that for $150 and less in Chester $1/$2, AK/JJ should never be folded. If the effective stacks are $250-300 though you definitely do not want to call $47 and then be priced in to call off the rest of stack when you put SB on a good pair.

Don't cater to my whim. IMP says he wants the strategy babble in here. That ok with me, it's his thread. But I'm about done reading it because that's not why I visit LVL. 50 back-and-forths debating a single NL1/2 or 2/5 hand is so totally not turning my crank.

IMP, post more about what is like to live in Vegas everyday. I don't mind crap like I got in my car, it was hot, I drove to the casino, stopping at Jack in the Box on the way. I mean like the crazy crap/degen stuff that you see. That is what is most of us are jealous of, the fact that you get to live it everyday while we are stuck in a cube.

Final Numbers For March:
Sessions Played:24
Winning Sessions:19
Total Time Played:90.5
Hourly Profit: $35.47
Standard Dev: 240.65/h

So the first month is complete. 1st 3 weeks of the month: Awesome. Last week of the month: horrible. I ended the month with a -700bb week. I hate ending months on a downswing but hey it's all one long session anyways and I finished the month up so cant complain really. After discussing some hands with NCJ there are some leaks i need to work on and I'll be focusing on fixing them this week. Also I haven't really been a student of the game since i moved out here so I'm going to start putting in at least 1-2 hours a day of going over hands I played in the low stakes live forum and reading whatever i can get my hands on. I just downloaded like 70 poker books online and while I'm sure not all of them will apply to my situation I'll be going through and reading the ones that will help. I'm going to start with the Let There Be Range book by Tri Nguyen and Cole South.

Im setting some goals for the month of April to help give my self some direction.

1. Play a minimum of 32 hours a week
plan to reach this goal: easy game, just get my butt to the cardroom and log those hours. I'm going to start getting to the casino earlier and that will help a ton
2. Study more:
plan: also easy game. Tons of information is available to me all i will have to do is reach out and grab it.
3. 5k profit
plan. Play good poker, log those hours, and fix the leaks I've found in my game.
4.start working out again.
plan: more then likely my family and I will join a gym sometime this month and once that is done I'll have no problem getting there. Until then i need to start going on jogs or something. Been thinking about downloading Insanity and giving that a shot. In fact ill do that after I'm done typing this up
5. Quit Smoking.
plan: FML i have no idea. I do know i had a cig this morning and will not have one tonight when i go play poker no matter what. So i guess this goal will be done one grueling day at a time.

Ill be updating the thread every couple days with my progress on each goal. If anybody has any good tips on quitting smoking feel free to share. I have no problem not smoking when I'm at home its in the damn casino that its so hard to resist....
