Blah. Busted a 740 stack with ak. really weird the way the hand played out. 5 handed game at ph, 2 super fishes in the game.

Utg fish opens to 25. la asain calls, i reraise to 100 from button with AKoff. Sb fish flats, bb flats. Super utgfish makes it 280. La asain folds. I ship. Sb calls, bb calls. Utg tank folds A6s muttering that itssuited and he really wants to play. sb has 66, bb has KK. Board runs out QcJc3d2c9h. i had Ac. Bricked 15out river for 2200ish pot. fml. i leave take 200 to bj. (very rare thing for me to do) and proceed to get my 500 back. sucks that i lost the hand but on a side note i was playing well and feel im for sure ready for the 2,5 skill wise. Im going to wait till the roll is at least 15k+ though before i take another shot. Im really excited for when that comes though because i love how the 2,5 game plays compared to the 1,2 and i feel ill do great in it.

I cant help but think you rused into this 2-5 game, Next time look for a good game, your a better player it seems with a full game. And 15k is a long while away, You should be take a couple more shots at it before you get to 15k. And whats up with going right to BJ after this? Thats the difference between a degen and a poker player.

I agree with you in regards to your last statement. This is something i rarely rarely do. And wasnt something that was tilt induced either. Will be quite awhile before anyone sees me in the pit again. just out of curiousity why do you feel my game is more suited for full ring vs a SH game?

Agree 100% here. If you get coolered, whatever. But don't run off to the pits to get your money back. You are a pro poker player now with a family to support. Don't channel your inner Ben Taylor.

When you have an edge in this game, do you not think it would be better to play AK post flop? Many novice players have trouble adjusting their play after the flop and still only pay attention to their own holdings. Shoving AK there is at best a flip against a fish. And why gamble with a bad player when you know you can gradually take their entire stake with less risk? Unless you feel like both players only have AQ/AJ type hands, I'm not sure I like the shove against 2 players.

Good work IMP. Obv you know better then to go to the pit. Calculated shots m8. Keep on grinding and log hours now since you are running/playing well. Take more breaks and enjoy life when you are playing/running badly. This is hard to do, but once you get it down you may be a professional poker player.

As for the shorthanded aspect of your shot. I know it seems you can really hammer in on the fish, but you simply cannot handle any variance increase like this when taking a shot. You would most definately have a higher hourly in the long run, short handing fish, but that is not the essence of shot taking. That is almost like skipping a level.

Would really like to hear more on this from experience live pros as I have similar feelings, but still end up aggro'ing ak pre vs fish.

My shoves was to try and get it all in with the super fish. After his raise to 280 there is: 605 in the pot and I have 640 behind and am facing a 180 raise leaving me with only 460 left going to the flop which just makes it real crappy if I miss. If I just call I let the sb and bb come in also if they so choose.

Thanks for the advice. I agree with you and my next shot will be at a full table for sure.. I just couldn't help myself. I had been talking about taking a shot already on here and happened to walk by and saw super fish call a river bet with J7cc on a 106442 board with 3d. Decided at that moment that was the time to shoot.

I appreciate the scolding from everyone over the bj playing :-P I'm not the type to play in the pit and haven't been there for quite sometime. It was just one of those times where I felt like playing.. Hot chick's at table, super hot chick dealing, just felt good ATM.....

Like said before I don't tilt so there was no tilt involved in this and my self control is awesome. If I had lost that 200 there was zero chance I was going back in my pocket.
But thanks to my 4-5 dad's in this thread I can promise no more pit games for a very long time. :-)

next shot i reccomend buying in for atleast 150bb because of the pfr sizing etc.
