Sounds like someone needs to turn that frown upside down
.
Jokes aside, it is really more about who you are with. I love Vegas as a holiday destination as I am always with a group of friends or my spouse and we have a great time.
I think Vegas can feel lonely if you are not connected to friends and family locally.
Strictly as a location I think Vegas is a pretty fun city: live music, world renowned DJs, pro sports, casinos, live comedy, various other shows, and high quality restaurants.
If I lived in Vegas I would need a swimming pool and an AC in my house to survive the summer. I would also want to park my car in the garage to precool it prior to driving around.
I think if you setup your life properly it would be pretty good (AC office job and AC car and AC house). You pretty much just avoid being outside during the summer months except in the evening.
As someone who lives in the pacific northwest being in the rain for 8-9 months of the year also sucks in a different way. Every place can suck or be awesome depending what you make of it.
