I am horrible about procrastinating writing these trips up. The past year has been really something. Got some time with the quarantine so might as well relive some old stories

In the Fall of 2016 I noticed Matt Ryan was 50-1 for MVP even after a great start. Peyton was gone, I needed someone new to pull for so I dumped on Ryan for MVP and Falcons for Super Bowl. I bet on em all season long like I did the Broncos before. By season's end I was looking at 80k if Ryan won MVP, around 50k for Falcons S. Bowl.

Went to Vegas in Feb. of 2017 for the big game, MVP announcement was the night before. After everything that happened with the big swing of the Broncos the year before, here I was back again, crazy. Brought a bottle of fancy champagne to pop if/when MVP was announced


Because of west coast time delay, we had to watch MVP announcement via laptop to catch it live. Ryan was a heavy fav but I was so afraid of losing, being crushed. Nervous for sure





How fitting that Peyton was the one who said the words that assured me of the 2nd biggest win of my life. Couldn't get the sound but could read his lips saying "Matt Ryan" Thinking about it, writing this now, I just tilted my head back and smiled for a bit. What a great moment



For the big game a friend got us into what has to be the best super bowl party on earth. I was wondering how good it would be at first then I saw Toby Keith beside me in line. Had actually met him playing B jack a year earlier



Steve Wynn, many other famous people were there. The criteria for getting in was blowing 100k a trip I was told. Everyone in there is super wealthy. I have said being in there feels like being Leo Dicaprio on the Titanic with all the first class rich folk. I had also bet a lot on Ryan for S Bowl MVP. At halftime the game and MVP sure seemed like a done deal, man was I happy. Went to pee, walked up to a urinal and a man with a Julio Jones jersey was next to me. I yelled nice jersey or something. He started talking and I recognized his voice from hearing it on the news so much. Around 5 years prior Herman Cain was 300-1 to win president. I put 1k on it for 300k. He eventually became the fav for the nomination and odds went all the way to 6-1. I still think he would have won if some dirt hadn't have been dug up. I told him about my bets, he didn't say much about that haha. He was cool though


I'm a big Coming to America fan.... Some other people had gotten a pic with him also. I was already pumped, then kinda giddy after that. Some girls asked me "Who is that" I smiled awkwardly and in my best Akeem accent said "just the man I met in the restroom"





That day definitely went downhill after that lol.... 28-3 will always haunt me worse than anyone. The winnings would have went straight to crypto, been close to a million dollars at the end of that year which I'm sure I would have cashed out Jan. 1st at the peak... that however is another story.

One night during the Derek Jeter golf turney I hit nice video poker hand





Went into high limit thinking why not try and run with it. Brian was at the table, ended up playing with him for 5 hours or so






A lot of the celeb crowd was there



I know I had ran it up to well over 30k that night





Must have been around 5am when I decided to play progressive loser, lost, doubled wager... lose, rinse, repeat





I remember going back to the room that night and seeing all the toiletries I had nitted away after that horrendous loss haha



The rest of that year was one heckuva crypto ride, with the quarantine going on, I'm more likely to update soon

Were you ever close to hedging that Falcons bet? If you did not; why didn't you hedge?

What about in-game wagering; when the Falcons were up 28-3, you probably could have got a great price betting on the Pats. Did you consider that?

I don't mean these as insults at all; nor do I mean to insinuate you should have hedged.
Hedging obviously limits your win, and there is nothing wrong with letting it ride and going for the big score.

Atlanta native here, where Herman Cain was on the radio with a local talk show for a while.

He absolutely had a moment for a minute there, in like 2014 before the rise of Trump, with a popular talk radio show... successful, accomplished businessman, on a bunch of boards and committees,

but he got Me Too'd before it was cool to have public opinion turn against him for sexual assault allegations, and he stepped out of the limelight since then

Also, I share your sentiments about the 2nd half of that Super Bowl

Almost as if on cue, read this awesome trip report 2 nights ago and then yesterday fox airs the replay of the NE/ATL super bowl lol. Obv i watched it again and still cant believe how atl gave the game away in literally every way possible and how everything had to go exactly perfect for NE to even have a chance at coming back. Also lost a bunch on that game and also stubborn and dont ever hedge in game, thanks fox!

Been a huge Pats fan since the beginning of the AFL, but genuinely feel bad for your loss.

apparently the nfl rep called it and wanted to go home early so they ended up handing out a lot of ATL superbowl champions schwag after the game

really surprised there isn't a big market for all that stuff given companies often produce both because the sales market is so short lived and the margins so high it's better to have both bases covered and eat the loss on the failed team

Now that I look at it, it makes perfect sense. Obviously a Bronco can beat a Colt. And a Lion could beat a Bengal . . . after all, the lion is king of the jungle. And I took the Bills over the Chargers because no matter how much you keep charging, sooner or later . . . you have to pay the bill.

when Giants won in 2007, someone leaked Pats 19-0 SB champs official jersey on eBay a couple of hours after the game ended

I really wanted it but I'm sure so did countless New Yorkers, the bidding got insane right out of the gate. I never checked what it went for or if eBay killed the listing but if it got sold I imagine it went for no less than $3K
