So, was going to go to Vegas with the wife and kids (thanks for the replies in that thread) and my wife's health made that just a bad idea. She's going to be fine, just wasn't able to make that trip happen.

Now, I still have free plane tickets, but literally nobody to go with. Wife still can't go and kids can't get time off work now. When I go it's usually with the wife or meeting friends out there.

I've got the time off work and nothing else planned, how much of a loser does it make me if I go to Vegas by myself?

That's just super creepy, isn't it?

Little-known but true fact: Beck's hit "Loser" and Radiohead's hit "Creep" were both written about single men who went alone to Vegas because their wives got sick and couldn't go with them.

I personally wouldn't travel to many cities alone (just personal preference; nothing against those who enjoy traveling alone), but Vegas is definitely a city I would not think twice about visiting alone.

Last year I had about 10 trips to Vegas solo

Actually took a girl on one this year and hated it, way better going by yourself lol.

General consensus is:
Vegas with a bunch of friends > Vegas alone >>> Vegas with a few friends >>>>>>>> Vegas with significant other

As mentioned, Vegas is a city that soloing-it-up is easy - eat at good restaurants at the bar, gamble and drink wherever and whenever you want, tinder like whoa, and no having to cater to anyone else.

If your primary goal is to play poker going to Vegas alone is the best way to do it. Second place would be with friends who are also hardcore poker players, third would be with friends, and in a very very very very distant fourth place would be with a wife/SO.

This post is a good reminder that the majority of people are not comfortable at the idea of doing stuff alone. But I do remember asking myself the same question the first time I went to Vegas alone. Never looked back since though.

Anyway, if you are going to vegas for poker, going alone is awesome. If you do not play poker however, and just want to see the sights, eat etc... well that's a whole different call. Not sure I would enjoy that.

Don't know why because I usually hate that kind of music, but I really like Loser. Maybe because the literal video of it was so good.
