How Much Cash do You take with you to Vegas? What do u spend it on? Curious because i have never gone to vegas as im not 21.

Please Break down how you spend your money

i.e.

50% gambling, 25% hoes, 10% food, 15% shopping...

depends on the length of stay and who I go with. Go with my girlfriend, I bring around 1000-1500 and I mainly spend on gambling and clubs. Go with my friends, around 2000 and probably 1500 of that is for gambling. But lately, all I've needed to bring is like $300 because I've been coming up the last few times I've been there.

$500 per diem for gambling...$100 per diem for miscelaneous expenses.

Meals, I eat wherever I want, whenever I want and charge it...f*ck it, I'm on vacation.

I only shop if the mood really hits me or if I came to town looking for something specific.

As a young person who hasn't been yet, take my advice...have a STOP LOSS for every day you're there, otherwise things can get real sh*tty real quick. I've seen lots of guys blow through their bankroll 2 days into a 5 day trip, and then what? Lots of hotel room time (unless their hitting other people up for cash). And that person isn't a whole lotta fun to be around either.

I have gone on 4 LV trips in the last 2 years, mostly bachelor parties. Around 2K is standard for me for 3 nights, $500 in cash and $1500 in an ATM card.

I budget for $300 for bottle service one night at a club.
$200 for strip club (This is not a lot of $$$, I don't get a lot of dances)
$500/day for gambling. I start with 200nl at the beginning of the trip and take it to 500nl if I am running good.

Drinks are pretty cheap out there. If you are doing it right you are drinking for free, and if you need booze for the room there are multiple gas stations or misc. stores that sell beer on the strip.

Hanging out by the pool is the best way to save $$$ if you have blown through your per diem.

$0 alloted for shopping or shows. I'm sure this will change as I get older.

Food = fast food or whatever my comp $$$ will buy at the MGM cafe by the sportsbook.

Nothing worse than busting through your roll early. I've been there. I stash oney in the hotel safe, give another wad to a reliable friend and leave even more money on my atm card whichI also leave in the safe.


Also... gas your car up ahead of time and leave money in your rig at the airport to pay for parkin when you get back.... worst case senario.


When I hit big I've bought money orders and sent them back home to myself so I don't blow it back.

I drive to Vegas when I go. So a lot of my money goes to things I spend on every day. Coffee and beverages, gasoline, newspapers/magazines, groceries, etc.

I eat almost exclusively in restaurants in Vegas, but I'm not into fine dining. I'm probably spending as little as $20-$25 a day. One buffet, one maybe two fast food stops.

My lodging is paid for before I arrive.

Sometimes I shop for clothing or electronics while in Vegas. This goes on my credit card.

Tipping is essential in Vegas. I always have a bunch of ones in my pocket. These go to servers, cocktail waitresses, restroom attendents, housekeepers, and anyone who gives you good service. Tip liberally. There are also a lot of street people looking for handouts, a few dollars to them is easier than feeling guilty. Tips and handouts can be $10-$20 per day, or much more for high rollers.

The biggest expense is obviously gambling. I'd plan my bankroll around two gambling sessions per day. For negative EV games like slots or table games, I'd plan on 80% losing sessions, 20% winning sessions, where a loss is one session buyin, and a win is one session buyin. Your EV per session is therefore -0.6 buyins. Your daily EV is -1.2 buyins. So, for example, if you plan to gamble $500 per session you will need to bring about $600 for each day you will gamble. If you run bad, you may need to lower the amount of your session buyin to stretch your bankroll. Poker players may have a higher EV but I would still figure the buyins the same way.

To sum it up, I'd say $100 per day for out of pocket expenses and food, and 1.2 buyins per day of gambling. If your typical buyin is $500, then it's about $700 cash per day.

Wow...If you have to gas up your car before you start gambling and hide money in the safe/with friends, don't go to Vegas. There are too many temptations there and you will go home broke. Just set a stop loss for the day and if you lose that, go out and enjoy yourself for the rest of the night. If you're going in expecting to make money(other than poker) in the casinos, then that's another reason not to go to Vegas.

I read your getting scammed post...I thought you said you were only worth like 40gs? Where'd the 100gs come from.

I normally bring 1500-2000, and spending depends on how much I am up.

I usually only bring about $1500 in cash, which is basically strictly for gambling for 4 days. I also bring my bank card, in case I happen to lose all my money, and I also bring my credit card for any purchases that I make - clothes, or gadgets or whatever else. This works out really well for me, and I've never actually had to pull out more money.

I guess as a girl wandering around Vegas, I don't really feel comfortable carrying much more than that in cash, and it's rarely necessary for me to have more than that on any given trip.

I'm going to Vegas 18-26 of April and I will bring about 10k with me.
5k is for poker
3k is for shopping
2k on food, shows, transport and tipping

Well, since I have a past of being a degen roulette and BJ player,

I haven't paid for rooms, shows, or food in years, all that is comped.

Otherwise, I bring $1K per day for poker, $500/day for degen games (I have separate degen bankroll), and about $200 per day for miscellaneous other stuff like going to the club.

I normally do four day trips and bring about $6K +/- $1K

And if I hit something really big, I go to the bank and make a deposit. I don't like to have more than $3K in bills on me at any one time.

Like the 12th time I went to Vegas I got real tired of carrying wads of cash in my underwear. To make life easier I opened a BoA account for my poker roll.

So I'll bring a couple of grand in cash, and easily supplement at needed.

As opposed to here in NYC the BoA staffers are real friendly and helpful out there.

Day trip?

I'd say mine is roughly

$5-700 a week for incidentals

$1k for a mad night multiply for each according to lenght of trip in weeks

$xk poker bankroll as required.

$500 for each intended strip club trip

+ whatever you do in blow

For my WSOP trip every summer, I go for 9 days, and bring about $9,000.

Going for 3 days for March Madness (arrive thurs AM... depart sunday afternoon). My room is comped, flight was paid for with FF miles so that doesn't count for these purposes...

• Low stakes poker player (3/6 or 4/8 and 1/2NL mixed in).
• Will likely be playing 25/game on the tourney to start.
• Some Floor Games (blackjack/craps) at lowest limits ($5-10)
• Love some nightlife (prefer bars to clubs)

Weekend Breakdown:
$300 Hoops Budget - (12 bets...should hold over unless catch a massive cooler)
$600 Poker Budget - (4-5 buyins... should be fine unless catch massive cooler)
$450 Floor Games - ($150/day... mostly for filler. Add excess Poker/Hoops winnings here)
$400 Bar/Alcohol - Covers / Drinks. Again, not planning on clubs or strip clubs (except maybe seamless)
$150 Tips/Taxi - drinks, taxi fare, etc
$100 Food - I'm fine with Subway & Comped meals

Total: $2000 Budget for 3 days

Stop Loss at 1/3 of each budget (Hoops/Poker/Floor) per day unless one of three hit for a nice win, then juggle balances accordingly.

The Envelope System:
Someone once told me an interesting system: When you get there, have 3 envelopes (For 3 day trip) and seal up 1/3 of your roll in each envelope. Day 1 take your envelope and lock the other 2 in the room safe (with your ATM card). Keep Amex on you for emergencies (can't swing cab fare back to room, meet 2 burners who want to hit Tao, etc)

At the end of the day, put any remaining winnings in the safe and the next morning crack the next envelope (leaving the winnings as a backup fund).

Sure, you can always busto, go to the room and crack an envelope a day early. But it requires more work than simply having your whole roll on you, then waking up the next AM having blown through most of it on day 1.

I bring a little over 8k for a 4 day trip and since i'm among the older of the degens on here, I'm sure I spend it a little differently.

Not counting hotel expenses, which are usually covered because I'm going with someone who has a free weekend for one reason or another.

50% poker - playing anywhere between 10/20 - 30/60 limit, mixed games. whatever is running. Usually one long session a day.
25% food - me loves the fine dining. This includes liquor
25% other - show's if I'm with the wife, golf and other stuff if I'm with other men of a certain age.
0% - shopping. No one should ever buy anything in Vegas, ever.

Wow, reading your posts it really makes me reconsider my planned budget for my 11-day-long-trip to LV this October. Its my first time going there.
