How good is LV Veteran's Hospital? How good is LV Veteran's Hospital?

I'm a 100% disabled vet and am looking to relocate to LV for better weather (from Minnesota everywhere has better weather). Was wondering if anyone was using the VA.

No clue about the veterans hospital but i had to go to the ER and stay a few nights like a month ago and it was horrible. Had to wait for like 5 hours in the hallway before they could even check me into a room. Then it was as if none of the nurses or doctors talked at all because i mustve had to explain at least 20 times what i was even there for and what had happened to every nurse and doctor i saw. This was St. Rose Dominican which i thought was supposed to be a newer nicer hospital but it was laughable how unorganized and horribly ran it was.

Thanks, but doesn't apply to me. I only go to VA where I get all my care for free.

Unless you've lived in a desert before, you might want to rethink moving here for the weather.

It seriously hits 120+ during the Summer, usually during two weeks or so and 100+ overnight. Think a microwave, with a fan in it.

Sorry, can't help re the VA hospital question.....

Las Vegas: 2/5 stars, significant improvement in past year
Minneapolis: 4/5 stars, unchanged.

Speaking broadly, say what you will about Minnesota and its weather, but on balance it tends to have pretty good medical care, even if you venture past the Mayo Clinic.

OTOH, the general rule here in the past has been that the best place to go seek quality medical care in Las Vegas is Departures @ McCarran Airport.

I've been here 5 years and I've never had an issue. They have a main hospital in the north side of town and smaller clinics scattered around the city for smaller procedures.

Usually takes about 2 weeks to get an appointment whether it's through the VA or a referral.
