Hi all, I will be travelling to Vegas end of september for the first time and I will stay for 2-3 months. But since I am expecting to be making a lot of cash money, I would like to know if there is a way to deposit my cash money since I don't have an American bank account. I am also interested in the cheapest way to trade my cash dollars into some euro's, since I can deposit those at home.

Sell it to other tourists for bank transfers or PokerStars transfers.

But maybe you should cross that bridge when you get there..

U can do a bank account in 30min. Even as a European. I have it at Wells Fargo which has stores all around the country. You just need an address. Take shipito.com or something else as a mail forwarder.

To get it over to europe you can withdrawal it to transfer wise global account and exchange it to € for a cheap fee. When you don't like to get tracked use cryptos.

If you just want to exchange your dollars to euros, best place would probably be "Foreign Money Exchange" at 101 Convention Center Dr #101. Stupidly good rates (have done business there twice and been very satisfied both times).

Are there any international banks to open an account before you leave? Alliant, Barclays, Citi, Chase, Mellon? Seems like it would be the easiest thing to do.

If you make a big score just have the cage write you a check, then mail it to yourself back home.

Cashing non-bank checks in Europe is usually a huge hassle and expensive, cashing bank checks is usually just a big hassle. For example, I'm 36 and I vaguely remember my mom using checks couple of times when I was 7 or so, and the one time I had to cash a $450 check from online casino it took two months and cost me about 50 euros to do so (and this was 10 years ago).

I can confirm that. Europe moved away from checks before I can even remember and the one time I had to cash one, my bank charged me 30€ which came out to more than 10%.

Unfortunately, wire transfers from the US to Europe are pretty expensive too, but at least significantly more convenient.

I don't know what you mean by that, but as you can see I first referenced remember my mother using checks when I was little kid, and then having to deal with one myself later in life and it being horrible.

I think the thing that always gets lost in these threads is that electronic transfers are generally the best both in terms of safety as well as exchange rate. You don't have to physically move bills and the bank doesn't either.

The only drawback is that there's a record of your transaction, which is only bad for people with something to hide.

Getting charged 50 euros for a check isn't the end of the world. If you're transferring less than 5,000 euros just move it in your pocket (you'll lose more than 1% on the exchange) and if you're transferring more it's less than 1%.
