Unless you're going to play solitaire you're going to need a big suite. Even if a room comes with a table it's only going to have 1 chair, 2 at the most. So you're going to pay hundreds, maybe thousands, of extra dollars for a big suite so you can play a home game in your room when you're in the middle of dozens of casinos. Brilliant.

The Bella suite in Venetian had a big enough table for 6-7 people and a large sofa and decent price with poker-rate. $129-$179 so something like this would be perfect but not found similar in any other hotel.

We enjoy playing cards for a couple of hours and drinking before going out.

location wise on your list flamingo , also harrahs. easy access to ceasars, bellagio, venitian, etc, not bad mandalay or mgm either

Ok, but the bella at Venetian is a room, not a suite. It's just an oversized hotel room that has two beds, a sofa, a coffee table and a small regular table. Is that what you want or do you want an actual 2BR suite, one that has two queens in each room? Because that is hard to find, most suites aren't built that way. Actual suites usually have one king in each bedroom.

A normal room would be fine as long as it has a sofa-lounge with a big enough table for 5 people.

I have never researched any trip as much as this as we are 5 people who all want their own bed. Also the 4 others have never been and wants me to sort everything and I dont want them to be dissapointed.

The $ is also up about 60-65% towards my currency the last 5 years since my last visit aswell so not helping.

Our hotel budget is $6000 for 5 people for 13 nights. Would have been $9000 a few years ago

I have only been to Las Vegas once in 2011 and only stayed at Venetian so have no experince of any other hotel. I have read every post in this thread and just tought I would see if anyone knew of another room-options in some hotels wich also has a sofa-lounge. ( like the one in bella suite)

I heard rumors that it gets you your own check in and perks in Vegas? Any truth? Also what do most folks do with their luggage if the check in is so late. and 20$ game worth it at flamingo? I didn't see too many "extra" type of rooms therr

You're not going to be able to get an actual suite the way you want for anywhere near that, even in a dive hotel. You should look to see if you can get adjoining Venetian suites. They have 3 sleeping places each. Also you can combine playing hours and get the poker rate for some of the days and knock a lot of the cost off.

1. Loud and rowdy. Plus: short walks to/from room, casino, front desk (unless you self park). Spa bath with view available.
2. Avoid the Flamingo. For example, no chairs or desk in room. Very limited room service. Limited dining options.
3. Never had a red room, but your SO will like it. So will you (unlike Flamingo, you'll get a desk, an upholstered chair, and an upholstered love seat).
5. Meh.

Anyone tried polo towers? Decent reviews. One of the lower cost alternatives

I wanted to book a solo trip for June 30 to July 4, not stay at a dump, have a convenient location for WSOP action, and not spend a fortune.

I guess Rio isn't the most highly reviewed as a resort, but seems like it can't be beat for WSOP convenience. My initial thought was to stay at Gold Coast, maybe slightly nicer, and a lot cheaper, right? But Gold Coast was coming up at about $650 total, and Rio came up at $522 total (was ~$600 through priceline.com). I went ahead and booked it, but of course I have plenty of time to change it if I've made a horrible mistake? What do you think? How did I do?

Taking a trip with the GF in early July, so I'd ideally like a nicer hotel/pool area than when I'm going there for a sports betting or poker trip.

I can stay at any of the non-Caesars/Cromwell properties for free, Caesars is $40/night, Cromwell is $120 a night. Is it worth it to stay at the Cromwell or Caesars, or should I just stay at Bally's/Linq/PH for location and pool area?

Tuscany Suites

One week stay (~$550)

Spacious room. I had the executive suite, king size bed. The room has a very small kitchen area, not equipped with anything other than a coffee maker (pods) and a fridge. No utensils, plates, nothing. No stove. A small table for eating for 3, one two seater sofa and a chair, coffee table. Desk with a chair, good size for a laptop and stuffs.

Bathroom is also spacious. Separate shower and bathtub.

Bed is comfy and big. Cleanliness is more than decent. The only issue I can think of now is the noise from the AC unit and the fan in the WC.

The area is less than stellar, but I've stayed in worse. Parking area (free) patrolled by guards on bikes and golf carts. Convenient location if you have a car. I'd say a car is needed here for extended stays.

Staff is nice and friendly. Dining options; I only tried the coffee shop and Marilyn's Diner or whatever. Decent food, but there is no 24 hour room service even though Marilyn's is open 24 hours.

The really tilting part is the 27 dollar resort fee. It includes WiFi, fitness center and the pool. The WiFi is not very fast, but stable. Fitness center I did not try and the pool looked okay enough, but not very big.

All in all I can say that I will stay here again. They have a 4.3 rating at hotels.com, which is maybe .3 too much, but who's counting.

Rio is average for most people and a dump to people who stay at Wynn/Aria/Bellagio. If it's cheaper than Gold Coast, it's the choice.

Take Cromwell completely off the list.

I'd probably book Caesars in your spot. Not that I love the place or anything but it has the best pool and best rooms of the bunch.

You may have screwed up. Did you account for the resort fees? Rio will have higher resort fees than Gold Coast.

Yeah, its crazy, I fully expected Gold Coast to be cheaper, but I was looking at totals, after fees and taxes, and this is what I found. I've got time, so I'll check back once a week or so to see if there are any rate drops.

Gold Coast is not "nicer" than the Rio. It's an old, small hotel. It's gotten such a reputation as a good alternative to the Rio over recent years that price inversions like this happen. Don't get me wrong, many of their rooms have been remodeled in the last couple years compared to Rio's maybe in the last decade?

I just always count on having wheels for the WSOP. That allows for a ton more flexibility on where I stay, plus there are so many series going on that it doesn't make sense to limit yourself only to the WSOP.
