If you can switch to Linq, their mini suites have fridges

I thought, but may be wrong, that most of the casinos will provide a fridge for as an example $15/day. If you didn't , it would good to call and ask.

Softsided folding coolers work great for travel. I pack one for most trips, whether Vegas, Grand Canyon, or Boston. It's the best way to keep cold water, healthy food and snacks around. You could also pick up a cheap Styrofoam cooler locally and leave it in the hall for the next random tourist looking to keep his room beer cold.

I've found a minifridge once in a Harrah's room, but don't count on it since most rooms do not.

Tx guys. It's 4 nights so I'll just bite the bullet and eat at the food court. I'm staying at the Linq in Aug for a bachelor party, thought I'd try a different place now.

Actually that's BS, I went with the best deal I could find.

When at Linq in August, go for the $20 trick for a possible upgrade to a mini suite with 2 queens. They have a fridge in there!
Worked for me last January trip

I registered two nights in a row but ended up doing it separate transactions. Are they going to make me change rooms or can I just call them and sort it out? Really don't wanna change rooms would be a hassle.

I've booked a single stay at multiple casino hotels many many times over the years for different reasons (gaming discount codes/coupons, adding additional nights to the stay etc). Never have I had to move rooms during the middle of the stay. The only exception to that might be if you booked two different room types on the separate reservations but even that can be sorted out at check in.

My advice is to just be sure and tell the font desk clerk you have two reservations for consecutive nights and they will handle it. It should be no big deal and they see it all the time, it's nothing new to them.

This. Worse case you need your keys re-coded on the day of your new reservation. Even though many resorts have told me it's no prob and my keys will stay active, 8 out of ten times they don't do it or it doesn't work and I have to go down to the front desk and have the cards reprogrammed

Staying at Vdara for 10 nights starting June 4th, even if a real upgrade is hard to do for that many nights still worth trying the $20 trick right? It's such a lol percentage of the bill that it seems appropriate
We have stayed at Vdara every summer for the past 5 years and the only time the $20 worked was when it was during my birthday (May 31) for a 1 week, first time stay from the Deluxe to the Exec Corner Suite-major hookup. Every return visit as Gold or Plat status later months in the series we have booked the Vdara Suite (1.5 baths, great for your sofa bed guests and guaranteed to have bigger kitchen and washer/dryer) they have offered to upgrade at $20-$25 per night plus taxes. The word on this gem is out and they seem less inclined to give any upgrades. Even as Gold and Plat status we are supposed to get "free" room upgrades but that has happened 1 out of 11 visits for a short Oct stay. Still, best hotel for long stays during the series if in your budget.

I would guess calling ahead would be wise. More hassle for them to move you as well, if the room are the same.

Staying at the Flamingo for three nights in June (comped). Trying to learn about the best rooms in case the $20 trick works. Current assigned room type is "Deluxe King". I know they have Go Rooms and Fab Suites, but I don't know where they are. When I stayed there last (Superbowl 2012), we were in a Go room. It was fine, but I remember an interminable walk from the Poker Room. I'm thinking thus it must have been in tower A on my map. Seems like a good choice would be a decent/updated room high up in the C Tower, for access in and out of the casino and to the poker room. Does anyone know where the better rooms are and what the best choice might be? I do plan on hitting the pool as well, but poker and easy room access from the Strip would be higher priorities.

Fair point, I have had that happen too. It's a pain at 2 am when you get to your room and the key doesn't work.

Decided to try something different and will stay Downtown this trip, 3 nights, weeknights.

Four Queens - $50 (includes $15 food credit)
Fremont - $50
Golden Gate - $60
The D - $75

Golden Nugget - $120

Those first 4 at least are close enough as to be pretty negligible price difference. Any compelling reasons to choose one over the others? (i'd default to not staying at Golden Gate just on principle since they price out at $35+25 resort fee). D is 50+25, not much better, but at least but looks newly remodeled which i dont think the others can say.

Golden Nugget is double the rest...more expensive cause it's nicer and just a matter of how much i want to spend? Or is it still pretty much the same as the others and I should just save the money?

If you're by yourself/with a guy friend the cheaper places should be OK (with the probably exception of the Golden Gate) if you'd be happy with a holiday in express type of place, but older.

OTOH, the Golden Nugget is actually pretty nice, about level of TI or so. If that helps.

Thank you this is useful. My last 3 trips, I've stayed at Excalibur, Luxor and Tropicana - so that's a representation of the price/quality point that has suited me at the time. I'll probably just take one of the cheaper options.

Beware of staying at the Aria if your wife will be with you. After sleeping in one of their beds, we had to buy a new layered latex mattress to match theirs as well as possible. Of course we do love the new mattress and it didn't come out of my poker money.

I wanna buy the ancient Chinese illustrated sex-positions book that was in my nightstand at Cosmo. Forgot how killer the rooms are there.

Anyone recommend any suites for 5 people ideally everyone got their own bed price range $500-700 a night ? 2 bedroom suite with 4 queens and 1 sofabed also cool.

Have read 10 000 hotelreviews and every post on this site last 3 weeks but finding it hard to find a perfect option for 5 guys travelling.

At the moment its between Aria, Venetian/Palazzo or the cheaper option in Planet Hollywod. We all play a lot of poker altough not higher than 2/5

Preferences for hotel is

1. Pool-area
2. Location
3. Poker

I would go for Aria here in this scenario. Tons of nice people by the pool, good action in the poker room and the location is good.

How many days? You could always rotate through the sofa bed, draw straws or whatever so no one has to spend too much time there. Two bathrooms would be helpful though.

It's cheaper to rent 3 rooms than a suite with 5 beds.

Thanks for advice. Going 13 days so thinking 6 days Planet hollywood then 7 days Aria..

We would really like a loung-area/sofa with a table for playing cards aswell in the room/suite so that is why we are willing to pay a little extra to get this. Dont really need a suite just a room with a medium sized table and sofa/chairs. Some rooms might have this without being a suite?

I have come to ask you the same question you always get asked...be forewarned.

So my wife springs on me that her best friend is doing some trip to Vegas for her blah blah blah who cares why, I'm in. I currently play at the horseshoe b'more so I'm kinda stuck with a Harrahs property. Unfortunately this will be more of a party trip with me sneaking off to go play when I can. I can get everything harrahs free minus Caesars. So, I'm looking for a nice, clean, fun place that is in a good location Vegas wise, not so much poker wise. Right now the front runners are:

1.PH. seems youngish funish. unsure about the rooms. fountain view nice?
2. flamingo. how old is this place? does it show?
3. Paris-red room?
5.ballys. looks like a budget spot.

thoughts?
