That request falls squarely in the "ask nicely" category. If they have it available, they will give it to you. If they don't, they won't. They're not going to be holding out for a bribe.

Once a year I stay at Caesars for my industry's convention, so here's my annual report on how Caesars sucks.

1. They closed the Augustus/Octavius check-in area, so you now have to check in with the plebs at the main desk (unless you have status). Annoyance level: minor.

2. There was dried up dog **** in my first room. Literally. Annoyance level: major.

3. I leave the room at 10:30am and ask the maid in the next room to please have my room done by 2pm because I'll need it. "Absolutely sir, we'll have that done". Take a wild guess whether it was. Annoyance level: medium.

But they do still serve decent booze in the casino, which is more than I can say for the MGM properties. Can't decide which company is winning the race to the bottom.

LOL 100$ if you got too much money you can send it to me if you like, PM for details. As previous posters said asking nicely will give exactly the same results

CP (unlike all other CET properties) has reintroduced $10 3/2 BJ, which is something to be encouraged. The only other Strip casino offering this is SLS. Maybe CET will put 6/5 out to pasture once and for all.

If they completely got rid of 6/5, and huge resort fees, they'd be sold out every single day of the year.
Oh, and Steve Wynn, please get rid of 2X odds on craps.

planning on staying from 05/29 through 06/11. Getting a place at the Palms Place Hotel for $1650 total for 13 nights - is that a good deal?

Ideally would like a place on the main strip for that much, is that possible? I've tried Kayak but with resort fees and taxes it generally ends up being $2000+.

Went straight to MLife and was quoted $1699 for those days at the Monte Carlo, all inclusive. I believe Palms Place is nicer but Monte Carlo is central and its a short walk to the Aria poker room.

But Palms Place is walkable to the Rio if he's playing the series

yeah planning on playing @Rio, Venetian, and PH. All 3 of them are running tournament series during the time I'm staying. Don't know Vegas well enough so not sure if being walking distance away from Rio is better than being on main strip. Rio offers shuttle service to all major casinos right?

Shuttle from Rio to Harrah's and another from Rio to Bally's.

Bally's is not far from PHo.

The problem with shuttles is they only come every 30, and crowds can get very large. If you don't push your way to the front like a douchebag you might have to wait twice, in 100+ heat. It's going to be rough playing at 3 different properties relying on shuttles. You have to plan way ahead, and never count on getting somewhere in less than an hour.

Rio shuttle absolutely blows during peak times. Not even worth the hassle. Better off waiting on the longggggg cab lines which also blow during WSOP busy times. Best bet is rent a car if you expect to be mobile.

Agree with above. The shuttle is a decent option to go from your on-strip hotel to the Rio in the morning before a WSOP tourney (but at least an hour early). It sucks as any kind of transportation option where you think "oh I busted the WSOP, let's get over to Venetian to late reg the DSE" or whatever.

Thoughts on rooms at Rio? Website gives me $75 a night for a classic suite. Seems perfect for my trip the last two weeks of June, most of my playing will be either there or downtown and I'll have a car.

yeah, f those Rio shuttles. way too hot, way too slow and just no good for getting your mind ready for a donkament

if you're spending 1.5k or more on a poker tournament, spend an extra $12 on a cab

Do they have uber in vegas? Last time I was there my uber couldn't find any signal so I wasn't sure. All I saw was cabs standing around.

Got Monte Carlo booked for a five day solo trip at $700 all in plus $100 resort credit.

Just saw an offer on Aria that'd be $1087 all in for the same dates with $250 resort credit.

So after taking account of the resort credit, would most people say Aria is worth an extra $50 a night over Monte Carlo? My inner nit is stopping me from pulling the trigger just yet.

Depends on how much time you plan to spend in the room. Monte Carlo is connected to Aria by an enclosed bridge, so you don't even have to leave the hotel to get to Aria and can spend all your time there. Since they are both MGM properties you can also charge anything you do at Aria to your Monte Carlo room. So unless the quality of room is really important to you (and admittedly Aria's are nicer), I would save the money.

I just stayed at Monte Carlo about two months ago, it is a complete dump...only good thing is location.

Aria is literally 100 times nicer also has the best poker room in Vegas...Very much worth changing it up if you can.
