Nice!^^^^^

I booked myself in late next May a Palace Tower Deluxe Room @ Caesars. How nice is this room, has anyone stayed there before? I'll just be in town for the WSOP before I move to more humble accommodations. Did I make a nice booking? It's free and normally the Caessar's Palace rooms for me are not. See pic below.

Anyone stayed at the Flamingo FAB Deluxe or Luxury rooms? I have a couple nights comped there in late January and was wondering if they are decent.

The reviews I saw online said they are basically a slight upgrade from the standard rooms. Same old bathroom as well.

Compare the cost of a Go room, the difference in quality is massive in all aspects especially the bathroom. Also I really liked the pool view I had.

See if you can upgrade when you get there to an Augustus or Octavius room. Palace is nice but not their nicest.

Am staying in a GO Deluxe room for 8 nights next month, will let you know how it is if that helps.

I stayed in the GO Deluxe last January. It was solid. Comfortable beds, re-done room, bathroom, etc. Nice room for the price(usually)

The FAB Deluxe/Luxury rooms are the new standard rooms they have.

I began using Excalibur exclusively as i'll play poker at MGM (a nice walk across 2 bridges) and watch/play games in the Ex sportsbook during non-poker hours. I've really began to enjoy this routine, am happy with the rooms at Ex, however had a terrible experience last Saturday night when i arrive to my room to take a shower before bed (i hate sleeping smelling like smoke) to find my bathtub/shower covered in ****, for lack of a better term. Here is the email i wrote and have yet to receive a response. Do 2+2'ers feel i am making a reasonable request based on the effect this had on my day and overall trip?

I visit Las Vegas 2-3 times per year and last year began staying at your resort at Excalibur regularly. Overall i have been very happy as it is clean, is of close proximity to your sister MGM Grand casino, and provides me with a great value. This past Saturday i left my room (#22122) at 9am returning at roughly 3am with the plan of showering and getting a good 6 hours of sleep before meeting friends for the breakfast buffet and to watch the Sunday 10am NFL games in the sports book. I have attached the pictures of my shower when i realized that it was backed up with well.....i will let you figure out what it was backed up with when you view the pics. I am a very reasonable person so i contacted the front desk who transferred me to another department, possibly housekeeping. My request was also reasonable.....i asked that nobody come up now as i needed sleep and would prefer to sleep covered in smoke now rather than wait an hour or more for someone to come clean the room. Not ideal but the better choice of the two that i had at the time. I stressed the importance of someone to come clean and disinfect the shower between 7:30 and 8:00am as i did have plans to meet people for Sundays NFL games which was the highlight of our trip......the lady on the line told me that whe would include this in her notes. At 8:30am a man arrived to "repair the shower door" which is exactly what the notes on his Work Order had said (there was NO note about the timeframe that i had requested and stressed was very important!).....there was nobody there with chemicals to clean the shower. I then contacted the front desk to find me a room where i could shower immediately and the bellhop arrived at my door 20 minutes later with a room key for another floor where i could shower. This caused me to have to carry my accessories with me to another floor, shave/shower, then return back to my room to pack to check-out for the trip. Needless to say i was not pleased at all, rushed downstairs to check out and the supervisor checked me out immediately while removing my Saturday night visit from my folio which was absolutely the correct thing to do.

As i had already missed breakfast i then had to wait in line to store my bags as i had a late evening flight. I also was unable to wager on the 10am NFL games, and had to miss nearly the entire first half waiting in line to grab food that i did not want to eat anyway (i wanted the buffet with my friends) because i simply had to eat something. Needless to say i was/am very upset at what occurred, the lack of importance to my experience that was shown by the lady on the phone and this was the talk of our day on Sunday about how "poor Rhody Guy" didn't get to eat nor could he wager on the games he wanted to......but i didn't have a seat to watch either until one of my friends insisted that i sit so he is the one who stood up the entire second half of the game.

I am in a customer service business myself and stress that i did not ask for anything at time of checkout for the simple reason that i was already late enough and hungry. Not charging me for my Saturday night stay was obviously the correct thing to do however i was still charged the resort fee for that night. At this time i would like to state my request for the inconvenience and stress my stay placed on not only myself but my friends as well. Please respond by granting my request or kindly state your view as to why you feel i am not being reasonable in said request. Fair enough? I would enjoy remaining a customer at Excalibur and would love to share my story about how i was done right in the end as we all know that these things can and do happen.....what is important is being fairly compensated for the inconvenience. My friends also stay at Excalibur on their visits and are very interested in the response i receive as well.

* refund of $15 resort fee for Saturday night stay
* One complimentary Saturday night stay on a future visit within next 12 months.
* One complimentary breakfast buffet
* One complimentary dinner buffet

Again, i am not asking for anything unreasonable and i'm certainly not the type that is looking for something for nothing. My request is based on my management experience and what i would feel is a fair compensation to make this customer happy and want to return for future visits. I look forward to a response either via email or phone.

What a great example of what can go wrong, happens. Here's what I'd do.

Immediately call front desk and ask for new room, do not wait on maintenance for an issue this serious and move or work out a deal where you can leave your stuff there. This prevents stuff from escalating like it did

In this case if they couldn't fix this asap I'd go down to check-in and describe the problem.

So while I could not make any room charges (and this helped lighten my bill), it allowed me not to have to use my credit cards or debit cards for a hold on the room and gave me free use of any available funds I might have.

The room was nice and clean with 1.5 bathrooms (no tub though) and a separate living area with a large flat screen TV and couch in the living area. This included a DVD player in both the living room and bedroom areas. I wish I had brought my own porn to watch however. The room had good climate control and was very comfortable. Overall I was happy and the price was right...free!!! I am diamond so I guess I'm a degen.
I think that's why you didn't pay a deposit. I've stayed there in the past with a free room and paid no deposit, but I'm going in a few months and got a GO room rather than a free cheap one. I had to pay somewhere around a 40% deposit on my credit card.

I think he means the amount a lot of places charge in advance to your card per night and then refund at the end of your stay (I forget what it's normally called), rather than a deposit for the booking itself...

Exactly, I didn't have to put a credit card down to pay for the room for incidentals. I just walked to the front desk and got my keys.

hey guys, planning a January trip to Vegas with some friends 4-5days. Looked on Expedia and got these rates, what is the most +EV hotel given the price? My friends don't play poker that much, they are tourists.

Excalibur $455
MGM Grand: $594
Stratosphere: $435
Circus Circus: $436
Flamingo: $487
Tropicana: $526

Given those prices:

1. Flamingo: $487

2. MGM Grand: $594 (would be #1 but they're going to smash you with a daily resort fee making this about $700 in the end)

3. Tropicana: $526

4. Excalibur $455

...

478. Circus Circus: $436

479. Stratosphere: $435

you couldn't pay me $436 to stay at circus circus

I think both Excalibur and Tropicana charge resort fees too. At those prices you can't beat Flamingo or MGM Grand.

[B]Golden Gate Hotel
Wife likes boutique hotels. Have been to Vegas many times. Stayed from Bellagio and Aria to Golden Nuggett and Luxor. Anyone tried Golden Gate since the newly completed renovations. $39.00 nite great price but
kinda scares me. She wants to try. Reasons to or not to. Thanks.

circus circus is decent, but the amount you're going to spend on cabs is going to be insane and negate any savings over anything else. Flamingo, if you can get a GO room would be my choice. Okay hotel and great location (you'll be right in the middle of the strip where the casinos open up to the strip and there's a ton of low limit gambling). MGM, as has been stated, is going to have a hefty resort fee, and it's pretty far away from everything.

The Trop is great value and everything has been newly renovated

MGM will also have nice newly renovated rooms.

I would choose between those two.

I haven't stayed there, but it just screams "sketchy" to me, and just because it's small doesn't mean it's a boutique. I'd be highly skeptical and do some serious research on it first. Two things I have heard- tiny rooms, and there could be a drug deal going down outside the window.

Had a few quick questions, how far is the signature at mgm grand from the strip, and have any of you stayed on hotels on the strip that have jacuzzis, the old lady wants to stay at a place with a jacuzzi.

Depending on which tower you are at.

Th back tower is quite a walk to MGM....

Not sure would trust cleanliness of tub / jacuzzi, even at a nicer hotel
