I would be booking the room in my wifes name and afraid I would get drunk, play there, them find out, and how no where to stay..

Kinda leaning towards the Luxor or just spending the extra 250$ a person and go with the Aria.
I love how you've gone from Luxor, to Flamingo, now to Aria within the span of a few hours. If Aria is in play, so is 90% of other strip casinos.

monte carlo is about the same price point as the luxor (it should be close at any rate) and in a uch more convienient location.

Au contraire: when I was but a wee 17 with a sweet fake ID (early 90's, you know, when some of you weren't born yet) my two best friends and I ended up in a hotel room in Downtown Vegas in the middle of the summer. I suggested that we take the bus (a buck in those days) to the strip and one of my friends refused, pointed to the not-to-scale tourist map we had, and demanded that we walk.

Which we did. It took several hours and involved a bottle of SoCo, a sixer of Budweiser, and a ton of stops at porn shops and record stores. Pouring sweat and pretty drunk, we walked into the Mirage, looked around for 5 minutes, and then my cheap friend said, "let's take that bus back to the hotel."

Oh man. I did that with six other people in our late teens/early twenties for the heck of it. We were so high and drunk by the time we go to stratosphere , I remember renting a couple rooms and having a blast that whole night. Fun times.

Yep, I made the walk from Circus Circus to Fremont in August when I was 21 and took the bus back. We were "counting cards" at the $1 BJ table next door at Slots A Fun. Good times.

Luxor/ Monte Carlo were like 780.

Worth the price differnce?

Depends on who's going, plans, expectations, can the $200/person savings do something for you that might not have ordinarily done while you are there e.g. eat at Picasso, spring for bottle service at a club, etc

That sounds like a lot for Aria. What would flights cost you? Aren't they under $400 round trip these days? What would Aria cost off their website?

And if it's a lot for Aria, it's waaaaaay too much for Luxor/Monte Carlo.

Between Luxor or MC game MC. Also keep in mind net net your overall cost will be leas at MC by virtue of their food court. Dining at Aria will cost more overall for those simple meals like breakfast and quick lunch
Not sure if resort fees are different between Aria and MC

I can't be the only one that wants to know the long story of how your dumbass felt the need to be excluded form online NJ CET gambling. Regardless of the fact that you unintentionally excluded yourself from land based properties.

Do tell.....

flights are expensive from NYC 465$ non stop round trip.. how are the rooms at MC? Stayed at Harrahs last year and the wife was not happy with that one at all.

I remember you now. I check that thread a couple times a week. Are you going to do a trip report? Should be epic if you do.

We need help. My wife and I are finalizing a trip from June 14 (Sat) - June 17 (Tues) with my Sister and Brother in law. We've nailed it down to either TI or Caesars. We can nail a 4* bid on priceline for $83-$85/night that would almost guarantee us TI (with a small chance of Caesars or Mirage) or we can book directly with Caesars who have a small sale now for $114/night

Both locations are pretty close to where we want to be. Casinos don't matter much to me since I can access any casino I can walk to on the strip. Pools are a big deal and I've read that Caesars' resort >>> TI with 8 pools over 1. Though I've heard better money can be spent than Caesars.

We're trying to stay on a budget (the TI bidding price would be perfect) but if the Caesar's experience is going to blow us away then we're happy with the extra ~$100.

Is TI really that bad? Is Caesars really that much better? Are there resort fees at both? Tell me what I should do, we're going to be booking today or tomorrow
Thanks

@cowboy I 100% intend to do a TR. That said with 3 pool parties and 3 nights of Electric Daisy Carnival I'll be happy just to be able to string a sentence together.

Then she will only be marginally happier at MC. Try and do Aria.

Call Aria, ask for "casino marketing" and get quote to see if better to buy air and hotel separate.

BTW, There is a good Travelzoo deal just released today for MC. $40-$60/night with $35 resort credit

So you're paying $200 a night for Aria with this deal. That isn't such a good deal, and you can probably do as well or better if you book through them instead, and you'll have the advantages of not booking third party.

And if she wasn't happy with Harrah's, she will not be happy with Monte Carlo.

So you're going on a trip to Vegas but sweating $100? You're doing it wrong.

But anyway, yes Caesars is that much better than TI (far more than $100 better). Yes there are resort fees at Caesars and I assume they have them at TI as well.

Eco, he did say he was working with a budget.

Not sure if Caesars still has a wide variety of room conditions (some renovated recently and some not) but I also think it may be worth the extra $100.

I wasn't super impressed with my TI stay and I think we did pay resort fee. No walkin shower there which to me deducts one star

Any Vegas budget that tight is not a good budget for Vegas.

Best line ever.

If you can only afford to stay at the Quad or Luxor, you need to get your priorities straight and you shouldn't be in Vegas

I remember comments like these the first time I asked questions like this.
Since when does the phrase "staying on a budget" mean "we can't afford it?"

Not everyone wants to spring for the Bellagio for $600/night (ldo exaggeration).
My wife and are planning multiple trips this year. We're sticking to a budget so that we're still contributing a good amount to our savings. Can't really believe I have to explain this to you people

not to mention some people prioritize spending in other ways. if i am going to Vegas for 2 weeks to play WSOP events and poker all day, my personal goal for my room is someplace that is inexpensive but doesn't feel dirty, that has comfortable beds, and a good shower. Can I afford to stay at the V, Cosmo, Aria, Wynn the whole time? Yes. Is it worth losing a $1500 event buyin to do it? No.
