The location is just horrendous.
when i stayed there about a year ago they had new pretty nice flat screen tvs. was in a tower room, not a pyramid room. I thought the rooms were pretty nice.
that said its probably close to a mile and a half from luxor to CP.... definitely long enough to be irritating either coming from or going to a significant tourney. the walk is through one of the most typically crowded/congested areas of the strip.... so basically its 1.5 miles of shouldering your way past families of fat people walking 3 abreast and standing still on the moving walkways. You can take the tram for some of it (monte carlo to the B) but IMO you save yourself pretty much no walking milage because of the boarding locations (you have to walk from the front of monte carlo all the way to the back to get the tram. Then when you get to the B you have to walk from the absolute back of the B to the front to get access to casears. Ironically enough, once you get to casears, you have to walk all the way to the back again to get to the poker room)
Which is to say, youre probably going to want to cab it both ways, which im guessing would be in the range of 25/ish a day with tips.... if you can get ballys for close to the same (IMO they are comparable in quality... ballys a bit better), i think you might save yourself some headache.
