This might seem like a stupid question but how do you get comp room offers? Just play with the casinos reward card and hope that they send you offers? Can you get offers from just poker?

Any hotels on the strip with 2 queens and a sofa bed? I know of the Venetian Bella Suite but anything else that would sleep 3/4 for around 150-200 a night early May weekend.
Cheers

Edit : I don't want to share a bed but some people don't care about that.

I think I read here previously but is there a short walk from the rear of Harrah's to the Venetian and if so how? Thanx

You can usually ask for a roll out bed

The quality differs from hotel to hotel.

HOWEVER, I always recommend downgrading your hotel slightly so people can sleep more comfortably.

Ie. having 4 people sharing 2 rooms at MGM is probably more comfortable than 4 people sharing a room at Aria.

You will have huge bottle neck issues with the bathroom

MGM has the "executive queen suite" 2 queen beds with a sectional couch.

Agree 100%, I'm always baffled by groups of people who book Venetian or Cosmopolitan for 3 nights and try to sleep 5+ people in one room. It's a recipe for drama and discomfort. I'll take my own bed at any cheap CET property instead every time.

These are good rooms for the price. Plus, I hear MGM is where all the cool kids are staying in February

Even minimal play at slots or table games, using your players card, will usually generate future room offers. Play only low -EV games such as the pass line-with-odds in craps, or basic strategy blackjack. YMMV.

In my personal experience, you get Total Rewards comps by getting drunk and blowing a bunch of money at The Quad party pit. YMMV.

I've done this and it is shorter, but hard to explain and not sure I'd remember (friend guided). I'm also not convinced it's that much shorter than the regular way.

That's up for debate, too. Escalator or no escalator? I think no escalator, unless it's post 9:00 p.m. (line outside Tao for the win).

Vdara is nice, but I would choose Aria over it and the others. Aria has the best beds in town and the rooms are great. I always stay here because of the beds and most importantly, they run PLO every day.

Fwiw Aria and Vdara have the exact same beds.

I did not know that. I've stayed at Vdara twice, but it's been a few years. I really liked it when I was there. I also like how there is no Casino in it, making it a little bit calmer than other places.

Good to know.
I always stay at aria when booking with mgm properties. However because i booked late, will be staying at vdara for the first time for Super Bowl weekend because of the cheaper rates + extra bathroom in the vdara suite (for the 4 ladies that will be rooming with me... Humble brag)

You will enjoy that suite, it has a washer and dryer which I think comes in very handy to wash out that casino smoke smell from a jacket or pair of jeans. Ask housekeeping and they'll bring up complimentary detergent.

Vdara fanboy signing off.

Another +1 for Vdara. Usually am comped at Bellagio, but during one of my trips during WSOP last year tried out Vdara and really enjoyed it.

I've searched back ~6 months and haven't found any decent input on Planet Hollywood's rooms other than it is better than the Flamingo---which is a bit of a low bar. Last time I was there, I enjoyed playing poker there because several of the dealers were pretty entertaining & drunks were generous at the 1/2 tables.

Thoughts on the current state of their rooms? Folks on trip advisor give it pretty mixed reviews; some folks say it is trashed & others like it. The location is pretty good IMO.

Thanks!

I'm going to vegas thursday for a bachelor party. Staying at MGM. Staying 5 nights, checking out tuesday.

I'm assuming asking for upgrades or any $20 trick or whatever isn't worth it due to the longer stay? Or is it always worth a shot anyway?

Definitely ask when you're checking in, but pro tip: research a room type ahead of time. MGM has like 150+ room types and about 3 million actual rooms in total so your odds are good there.

Last time I just said, "Last time my friend had a room with a separate bedroom, it was huge, any chance one of those is empty this weekend?" Tip $20 upon success.

Would the $20 trick work to get them to void the resort fees at a low/mid price-range strip hotel?

it could

i recall reading that MGM was one of the least successful hotels with the 20 trick

I have been successful 3/3 at mgm grand. One of those times included a bottle of champagne because I was with my girlfriend.

Actually, MGM is one of the best places for $20 trick because they have so many rooms and so many tiers of rooms for upgrades.

Most of the time, you don't even need to book a normal room if that's all you want. Book a west wing room (cheaper) and just ask nicely and say you want to try the newly renovated normal rooms.

Cheers,

S
