Resort credits almost always work at check-out, they'll reduce room charges by the resort credit amount. You can do crazy room charges sometimes too. I was able to room charge the Aria buffet back to Vdara and use resort credits. Also I've done food at Mandalay Bay back to an MGM room. Even those little convenience stores at every hotel you can usually do a room charge and you can at least use them to stock up on some booze.

I'll be looking up some of the hotels talked about here like the Cosmopolitan and the Wynn but my initial thoughts were the New York New York, Mirage, Luxor. I'm open to information anyone has about what would be good during this specific time of the year.

Requirements
On the strip
We'd like to spend $1300 together on the room(s)
Gambling doesn't matter
Clubs do matter
No cabs, we want to walk
Location is more important than view
Please DO NOT stay at TI, etc.

I suggest staying @ a nicer place wkdays and a descent place weekend to save $.

Since gambling doesn't matter, stay at Cosmo or Aria on the weekdays.

On the weekend, you can do Tropicana (newly renovated!) or MGM (Also newly renovated!). PH is good too.

Please avoid TI, Luxor etc at all cost.

Cheers,

Ok help. Which "free room" for 5 days during early WSOP action. I'll prolly play deepstacks or wynn summer classics and cash games at RIO.

Harrah's petite Suite
Paris Red room
Planet Hollywood mountain lux room

Thx for any advice. I'm fairly familiar with PH rooms been a long time since Ive stated at either Paris or Harrahs.

Harrah's if only because it's a quick walk to the Venetian and just a little bit more to Wynn. I've only stayed in the base room at all three properties though.

Paris is a nicer hotel, but the walk to V and Wynn is farther. On the other hand, you can hop right over to the Bally's shuttle to get to Rio.

For where you want to play I would rule out PH since it's pretty far from all the places you want to play poker. I've never stayed in a petite suite at Harrah's but given its close location to the V and Wynn it seems like the best move.

My basic question is: roundtrip airfare for two (Omaha to Vegas) and 6 nights at the Bellagio in mid-June for $1303 total. Seems like an oustanding deal. Is it?

Am I stupid to pass this deal up? My wife and I are going out to Vegas for 6 nights/7 days in mid June. It's her birthday that week and I plan on playing some tourneys (including a WSOP donkament of two that weekend). We are on a budget, but it will be my wife's first time to Vegas and only my third. So, I am no Vegas expert. Last year I came out solo for a long weekend during the WSOP (my first time playing the WSOP) and I stayed at Flamingo to save dough but was not impressed and want to stay somehwere nicer with the wife. We want to stay somewhere mid-strip'ish (I know I can catch Harrah's shuttles to Rio) since she has never seen the Strip. Originally I planned on staying at something in the Caesar's/Paris (with help from Total Rewards) or Mirage price line, the thought being if we stayed somewhere like Paris we could eat at nicer restaurants, etc. Venetian was gonna be my "long shot" (I stayed there my other time and loved it) if I happened to find a really sweet deal. But then I stumbled onto this package from Southwest, which is roundtrip airfare for two from Omaha to Vegas (live in Chi but will be flying from Omaha--don't ask) and six nights at Bellagio for $1303 total. I know it's just the standard "resort" room and it doesn't include resort fees, etc. Still, are we crazy to pass this deal up? On one hand I have a limited budget, but on the other hand, my wife and I haven't taken many nice vacations in our 15 yrs of marriage. It's a little more than I wanted to spend on airfare/hotel combo, but I didn't want to pass it up if it's something I should jump on.

I'm checking into Caesar's rates, Mirage etc in the next day or so as well. I can tell you that as far as this Southwest package deal goes, Bellagio is actually cheaper than Caesar's for some reason.

Thanks in advance for your advice!

That sounds amazing. Too good to be true tbh. Did you add the price of the room for one night or for all 6 nights? If I remember correctly to stay at the Bellagio for a week would run you about 2k.

You're basically getting the flights for about $200 combined, so yeah that's a good deal. Rack rate for the week you're probably looking at is $159/$299.

Has anyone stayed at the Platinum Hotel? Travelzoo has what looks like a really good deal. $99 for a 950 sq. foot suite with a full kitchen including weekends with no resort fee and free wifi.

Is the Platinum similar to the Signature or Palms Place?

How far is the walk from there to Ballys? and is it safe to walk at night?

I did a search for Platinum but I didn't see anything about the Hotel, just about Platinum rewards.

Also, Sorry this is my first post under this alias. I'm a long time member but I forgot my password and I think they have my old email address on file.

I got a comp at Caesars Palace, which rooms are the best for soaking in the hot tub/jacuzzi?

Roman Tower
Forum Tower
Octavius Tower
Palace Tower
Augustus Tower

Don't care too much about the view. Preferably closest to the Forum Shop since I'll be taking a shuttle to other places. Do I have to pay resort fees if the rooms are comped? Thanks in advance.

Palace closest to forums. Good rooms. Tub size for 2 with jets.

Augustus are the best rooms imo.

To the Platinum question:

I have stayed there. It was by far the best room I have ever stayed in while visiting Vegas. I have stayed at the Wynn and the Aria and as far as the room is concerned, I preferred the Platinum.

I was not in the base level room, it was one up from there. It was 1150 square feet with four rooms. There was a large living room, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom. I also had a washer and dryer. Since it was where I stayed in the middle of my 35 day long WSOP trip, I was very pleased to be able to do laundry.

I paid a promotional rate of $99.00 a night. I have never seen that rate offered again.

Now for the bad news. It is a sizable walk to the strip through an area that I would never walk through at night...probably not during the day either. Also, you must valet park (no charge) as there is no general parking available.

I hope this helps.

Gonna try the Augustus as it's the best dollar/free comp ratio lol.

Augustus and Octavius are both on par with each other, the nicest in the joint.

And...

I actually thought the walk to Octavius rooms were slightly better than to Augustus, since it's a shorter cut-through to the casino. If you're coming from the strip though, yeah it's a haul. The good thing about both towers though is if you're cabbing in, you can get dropped off on that side of the hotel and avoid the whole mess.

Does anybody know if the construction/noise around the Flamingo will be finished by June? Thinking about staying there but I'm terrified I'll end up beside a jackhammer.

Might stay at Bally's if you guys think Flamingo will be too noisy. Or I'll "splurge" and stay at Mirage haha. Any advice?

^Stayed at Flamingo two weeks ago and there was no noise problems while staying there. I was "upgraded" to the second to highest floor though. In fact I parked at the Bills parking lot without any issues.

I'm at Bally's in a North Tower room facing Flamingo Road and I'm finding the normal road noise tiresome even from the 23rd floor. I'll stay here again but will request a room not facing the street.

Last time I stayed in Bally's was 2011-02-04. My room was in the South tower and overlooked the Paris pool. I had no noise problems, room was clean and fine. I see in this tread that the North tower is always recommended. Your post and my experience raises some doubts I think.

Thnks

So I waited a night to book because my friends are lazy ****s, and now the rates I was going to get at Flamingo have gone up. Last night was $300 for 5 nights in June, today was around $370. I'm annoyed. For like $100 more I can stay at Mirage and book a room with volcano view - Should I just do this? Or is it not worth the extra money? Both have nice pools, and are in good locations...I don't know. I'm pissed I missed the deal last night.

EDIT I'm stupid, it's the Monte Carlo I can stay at for $100 more, not Mirage. Getting my prices mixed up. Blah.

i checked in, got upgraded, and had use of the bedroom on the right and the parlor - it was pretty sweet!

just curious if there are any similar setups at bally's

So I ended up booking this for the price I mentioned (not counting resort fees). Just found it through a random email regarding air/hotel package from southwest. A little out of my budget but couldn't pass it up.

I've stayed in the North tower facing the street dozens of times (literally dozens) and have never had any problems with the noise level. The windows don't open so it's pretty damn quiet. You hear more noise from people in the hallway than from the street.

I think a more important thing than noise level is how well the drapes block out the sun.

i know bally's has a shuttle to rio for sure, but does harrah's have one too? i'm assuming quad doesn't have one but could just walk over to harrah's if needed.
