And even in Caesars, the quality of the rooms vary greatly depending on which tower you are staying at.

Vegaschatter has a pretty compressive write up on which are the "bad" towers to avoid.

Also, they have a DVD player with an iPod plug in for your music so you can listen using their speakers and subwoofer. Well the cord for the iPod wasn't in the room and a call told me that it was "back ordered". The DVD layer broken 1/2 way through my Redbox movie one night and I was too lazy to call in since it would involve waiting who knows how long to fix it. Maintenance guys come whenever they can I learned from waiting 4 hours to get heat in my room at 2am.

One night I was without hot water. The bathroom was awesome though. Stand up shower was excellent and had two jets in addition to shower head. There was a TV in the bathroom mirror. Although the lights in the bathroom was partially out during my stay. It was bright enough without problem but I guess they get brighter.

The headboards were this paddled rubber white thing like an insane asylum and it was awesome because it was super soft and kinky. They also give you a mini fridge with was key. The room also has drapes operated by a light switch by the bed allowing you to open in the morning without getting up. The view was of the Bellagio fountains from my window! Winning!

The design, look, and feel of the room was excellent. The service brought me back down to earth. On 2 days, it took me 4 calls to get my room cleaned and each time you call housekeeping it's a 10 minute hold time for some reason.

I recommend the GO rooms but the Flamingo is still the Flamingo

I also stayed in the same class of room . . . in December. Had no probs whatsoever. Decent room, tbh. Nice view.

Octavius/Augustus = great
Palace = decent enough
Forum = haven't seen but I think this one is OK
Roman = avoid
Centurion = the one that they're turning into Nobu and it was definitely the oldest/worst tower. No worries now, it's closed.

Booked an Octavius tower room thanks to this. Am I imagining things, or is there a separate check in area/entrance off flamingo for Octavius tower rooms? Been awhile since Ive been to Caesars, and never stayed there

There is a separate check-in, it is for Augustus and Octavius towers and indeed is off Flamingo. If you're cabbing it, get dropped off there. There is no valet on that side though.

I would like to try Nobu, Cosmopolitan or the Mandarin Oriental when hit vegas in June. During past trips I have stayed at Aria and Vdara. Have yet to try the Wynn, Bellagio or Venetian. They seem to be outdated.

How are Aria's pool(s)? I've only stayed at the Bellagio, and both times it was kinda meh. I expected more. I'm thinking of an Aria corner suite this time around.

I haven't been to the pool at Aria, but I've heard it's nice. Although if it's not a busy time I'm not sure how great any pools are going to be.

I stayed in a corner suite there a few months ago and it was very nice. I will be there in less than two weeks and will be staying in another one.

You won't be able to get the poker rate in a corner suite. I've stayed in a Deluxe room and a corner suite. The Deluxe was just fine for a solo trip, and you save tons of money.

Great point. If you are wanting the poker rate you have to call ahead and stay in a standard room, if they have any available. The standard room is very nice as well and has plenty of space. If money isn't an issue then by all means try the corner suite.

I got my corner suite by doing the $20 trick and got upgraded for free, but don't do this if you are set up with the poker rate. You will get charged the full suite price.

Ehhh... the 3 you named are not really comparable.

Nobu...not sure if you want to trust them.

Mandarin Oriental is a LEGIT high end hotel... that will make the Wynn look like a joke. Do that if you want a TRUE high end hotel experience.

Cosmo is more like Aria... it's a "Vegas" high end, but not a TRUE high end.

Cheers,

S

Thanks for the advice fellas, but I'm not too concerned about the poker rate. I'll be going with a bunch of people who don't really play the pokerz, so I always end up degening in the pits.

But I will definetly keep this in mind when I'm on a solo (play poker til my eyes bulge out of my head) trip. Thanks again for the info.

That's about what I was going to say. I'll add that since the Nobu tower is the old Centurion tower (with small rooms), it probably won't be all that. I can't imagine they're knocking down walls and making rooms bigger.

If it's true luxury you want in Vegas, it goes Mandarin>Four Seasons>Wynn/Encore>Cosmo/Aria/Bellagio/Caesars/Venetian.

Additional note.

Agree with Eco that 4Seasons is a great hotel...however location is not as good as Mandarin b/c 4Seasons is by Mandalay Bay all the way south... where as Mandarin is more mid strip.

Cheers,

S

I don't see why they wouldn't knock down walls to do a high end renovation. The plaza renovated, but their idea was too put new fixtures and tiles in the bathroom, repaint the walls, and buy up furniture from the bankrupt fontainebleau. I stay there when I go on the cheap for solo trips. When I take a girl, its Aria and Vdara. The plaza isn't bad. Not sure if it's cheaper than IP/Quad, but I'd stay there before 4 queens or golden gate.

CET maybe broke, but they teamed up with outside investors so we will see. The pics of the Nobu king room look promising.

CET never gets the benefit of the doubt with me. My guess, the same crap-ass 350 sq. ft. room it was before, with better design. Bathrooms will have to get bigger though.

Actually, they ARE knocking down walls.

Centurion Tower had 180 rooms and Nobu will have 81 rooms at 3,250 square feet each (plus a few suites and baller rooms).

3250 square feet? That seems high.
