Stayed in Flamingo Fab Deluxe room for $10/night, sweet deal and nice rooms.
Air condition almost completely silent, some type of hard wood floor that is much cleaner than old carpet, nice big window, high floor with view.

I'm staying there again in a few weeks for $7.50/night for 9 days including weekend, lol.

Is this for the 9 days leading up to Christmas Eve? If so, I got the same offer. Mine is $8.50 a night though since it was $10 minus 15% discount.

They just posted new codes for CET properties using CYBER12 u get between 20% off to 35% off. Quad is the only one offering the 35% off though.

Yea those days, maybe it was $8.50, Because it was $9.52/night incl tax.
Yea I used the cyber coupon to help me close a weekend gap at Rio, staying there for 12 straight days, $20/night weekdays and like $63/night for weekend.

Just used booked Quad for 1st time for 3 days leading up to NYE for cheap.

First I want to say thank you for all the great information in this thread.

I'm looking into taking a relatively short (6-8 days) next week into Vegas. I've never been there and will be traveling solo just to play poker. My girlfriend has her sister coming into town for a few days and she will be staying with us so I'm going to get out of town for a few days.

a.) Hotel? I'm a total rewards platinum member and am about 80 hrs from being diamond (all from poker). I will be travelling from Dec. 5th to Dec. 11th or 12th. I noticed I can get a room at Bally's for like $140 total. Is this place a **** hole? Would I be better off going somewhere else?

b.) Poker? I just want somewhere I can play 1/3 around the clock. I'll probably be playing like 10-12 hours a day. I will probably meander around to other rooms but I would like to be close to a room where I can just go and get seated. What room has the best comps? It would be nice to use the comps for food as I will be eating all/most of my meals out.

Thanks in advance everyone!

I tried booking a bunch of reservations going forward but they are blocking me from the system now. How many reservations are we allowed to have? Is there a way to get around this to book for several months ahead?

Also, how long will that cyber deal be around? Can it be used over the phone? The online system pretty much has me blocked out now since I have outstanding reservations already made.

Bally's is cheap and so is Flamingo and the Quad (the hotel formerly known as IP). Bally's is your best bet since it puts you across the street from Bellagio's $1/3nl game with a $300 max buy in or a short walk or tram ride from Bellagio to Aria's $1/3nl game with a $500 max buy in. Both games run 24/7 and have $2/hr comps with Aria still doing $3/hr during off peak hours I believe.

Food wise, Aria buffet is closed and other places are pricy. Bellagio lunch buffet is still a bargain at $20 which is 10 hrs and their snack place isn't bad either for the money.

If you want to finish off the 80 hrs for Diamond, Caesar's is your best choice for $1/3nl. Now sure how the game is these days but used to be great when I played there few years ago. I don't play there now for several reasons, bad floor people and poor customer service being one of the reasons.

Rio is also $1/3nl and might have cheap rooms but Caesars almost certainly had better action and more games running.

I'm also trying to get to Diamond right now but I got more hours to do than you. Only from poker of course. I plan to milk that card for all of the free booze, chicken wings, veggies w dip, desserts, and free show tickets and gym access that I possibly can.

iirc, the system won't let you book a check in on the same day as a check out.

So, lets say you book ballys from dec 1 to dec 8,

then you try to book something from Dec 8 to dec 15.

It won't let you do that. You have to book from dec 9th and then call and manually have them change it.

that might be your problem. or maybe not... i experienced this several years ago.

I believe it's 5 upcoming reservations max(that you used your logged in card for)
When you book deals unlogged in such as the cyber deal and an email for 30% off thru Febuary, those don't count toward the 5.

Also a trick is to call them up when your at max, they will usually give you same rate your seeing or sometimes better but they charge a 1 time per reservation $10 processing fee but tell them there is a glitch and it won't let you book on your computer, they don't know about the max reservations most times and ask them to waive the $10 and they will.

btw mrducks, did you not receive my PM last week or are you just ignoring me? lol

Hi All,

I could use a bit of help;

Good News: I'm coming into Vegas for the most baller time of all. New Year's!
Better News: I have wifely clearance to get my poker degen on and plan on playing 2-5/5-5(and maybe a little 5-10, or 500/600BI PLO if the game looks super-juicy) for about 10-15 hours a day for 5 of the 6 days I'm there.

Help: I'm trying to find a better hotel deal.

Presently I found a room at the Gold Coast for my wife and I for 110 a night. 12/28-1/2/2013

Anywhere/anyway else I should be looking?

I'm really excited; its my first time in Vegas!

110 a night is about as cheap as youre going to find for NYE.

Keep in mind though that GC is not on the strip, and not really walkable unless you really like to walk.

However, from Gold Coast you can walk across the street to Rio and take their free shuttles to the strip. It's also a very quick walk to Palms which would be a fun place to be on NYE.

Would you guys consider the Venetian overpriced?

I know the price will always very but it seems like whenever I'm booking my trip the total for the Venetian is always about $300-$500 more than Aria. I've stayed at the Aria and Wynn already and from the reviews it doesn't sound like anything special compared to those. Granted the Wynn would probably be another $500 on top for my next trip, and the Aria always seems to be pretty cheap for what you get.

I have a hard enough time paying for these expensive rooms as it is. I love the Venetian poker room/restaurants which is the reason I want to stay there. I just kind of feel like I would be paying more (and getting less) just for the location.

As noted, Gold Coast has a free shuttle which runs until 12:30 AM. Starts in the morning sometime. Be aware that on New Years its difficult to get around and from what I understand some casinos will not let you in if you aren't staying there. You may have trouble getting back to the Gold Coast on New Years eve. Someone from Las Vegas could chime in on this.

The Gold Coast is about as low priced as you can get and still have a decent room. Its sister, Orleans is somewhat of an upgrade and has a poker room( no poker at the Gold Coast). You might consider there but the caveat about New Years still stands.

Vdara and Aria

Spent two nights each with my girlfriend in October.

We got decent prices for both hotels(roughly 65$ per night and person, including resort fee). Thought both hotels are awesome. Aria will probably be more appealing to younger folks because everything seems to be more modern and the whole thing is a lot busier due to the casino.
Rooms were clean and comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful. Good location (especially Aria).

I only have two small complaints:

1. The pool area in the Vdara is very small unfortunately
2. The dinner buffet at Aria is relatively average, given its steep price.

Verdict:
If you wanna take your wife/girlfriend/mum to LV, both places are very good choices, especially if you can get a good deal.

On a related note. I would rather bring a tent than staying at the Imperial Palace. I dont mind staying at cheaper places but jesus christ, the place looks, smells and feels filthy.

I'ts certainly not $300-500 better than Aria, but then again whenever I'm price-checking they're not that far apart. It's certainly a better value than Wynn (particularly since they've decided to turn that place into a douche factory). Just get the poker rate if it's that much of a concern.

I am envisioning an assembly line from "How It's Made" with douches rolling off the line one by one and being mechanically inserted into little bags.

Seriously, what exactly did you mean by "douche factory"?

Spontaneous generation is the belief that living things can appear suddenly from inanimate matter. When those lifeforms are observed to be of the douche genus, the matter and objects surrounding them is known as a "douche factory". Based on recent increasingly frequent observations of spontaneously generated douches in and around the Wynn/Encore, some have begun to label the hotel complex as a douche factory.

OK, a serious answer (a rarity from me)-

Wynn/Encore has made a concerted effort to start marketing their resorts toward the club-going, fedora-wearing, $500-bottle-of-vodka-consuming customer. They used to be more about the older, richer, classier crowd- the guys who prefer high-end scotch to Grey Goose and Red Bull and expensive hookers to bottle whores. Wynn made such moves as bringing in all the resident DJs, changing the very classy Daniel Boulud into a douchier restaurant, closing their highest-end restaurant (Alex) to turn into another club (which was at one point to be called "Climax", for maximum subtlety), and making more modest changes to other restaurants to appeal more to the crowd they're looking for. It's a somewhat different vibe in there than it was a few years ago, and personally I muuuuuuuch prefer the older one. There should be at least one ****ing place in Vegas that actually cares about people over 35 who have money and taste.

I would suggest MO, Aria Sky Suites, the 4 Seasons once they get remodeled, and maybe The Hotel if you don't mind being further away.

I think for a standard room though, MO is a no brainer.
