Not bad, has refridge and safe, just dont get low floor near pool or you hear loud music hotel plays all day.
Also you can check in like 10am for no charge.

Wondering on staying at Ballys, if I should choose between south tower suite and north tower (diamond) regular room, which one would be the better? I understand that south tower regular rooms are "horrible", but are the suites the same with old tube televisions and old crap but larger?

The south tower room I had was fine, it had a nice view of the Paris swimming pool. I looked into a suite across the hall and it looked nice.

I don't know what the deal is, but 2+2 always says the rooms I stay in will be horrible, but they never are. I guess my expectations are proportional to what I'm paying and I am always surprised, by Las Vegas. The rooms are always better than what I expect. So I guess that's the key, be reasonable in your expectations and be happy with the results.

I had a south tower suite at ballys. here some pictures. I did not care about the old furniture or crappy TV did not use any of it. room was clean, bed was comfortable and water was hot in the shower. all that really matted to me.

Has the construction/renovations of the Q (The quad) finished. Did they renovate the actual hotel space and guest rooms?

By the way I found that the advertisements for the Quad to include "Q the bromance". Thus it seems that CET is marketing the Quad in part for the gay community, which I find interesting. It may be a good idea. A recognition of a growing marketable part of our society, but it seems unusual for Las Vegas. ( I don't really care except it seemed interesting that CET would do this.)

Nope, was still ongoing when I was there this month. What was O'Shea's is still a shell and the outside of IP was pretty stripped down and boarded off etc. Dunno when it's meant to be finished, but it doesn't look like any time soon.

Thanks. I plan to be in Las Vegas again in February. Maybe I'll just avoid hotels near the construction.

You're misunderstanding that (lame) tag line. They're going after bros, not gays.

Yes , I looked bromance up. I guess the photo/image that CET had of two guys dancing together led me to assume more. So now that I know what "bromance is" I think I am disappointed.

I think Paris used to have a separate ad campaign targeted towards the LGBT community. Something like Gay Paris but I haven't seen it in a while.

Stayed at IP earlier this month with no problems whatsoever. If you know your way around (back entrance to Harrah's, secret elevators, etc.) it's super easy. No construction noise at all, either. Probably staying again soon given the ridiculously cheap deals they've been putting out ($150/week, insane).

Fair enough, I didn't stay there, but when walking past and around that area, it was extremely noisy with construction work (and the usual noise from the area between IP and Harrahs) and very busy with people, so it seemed inconvenient to be around there to us. Guess YMMV though.

Also stayed there during construction and didn't hear any noise from construction. Don't let that scare u away from staying there

Mandarin Oriental Stripview Room

Beautiful Room on the 18th floor facing PH, Paris, Harmon. Room a bit on the small side compared to standard Wynn/Encore or Venetian/Palazzo. In particular, the lack of anything resembling a dining table might make those who like to order room service think twice though to be fair, I didn't do this, so they might wheel something in if you do order room service. A decent chunk of area used for the closet/valet closet near the entrance. However, this does allow all your luggage to stay out of sight as well as at a very ergonomic height for when you want to take stuff out/pack.

Furnishings are immaculate with many textures and comfortable seating and spacing planning. There is also a very well stocked bathroom, minibar/snackbar, technology kit. The tv, lighting, climate controls, curtains were easier to control using the standard remote rather than the touchscreen remote.

Double vanity and a sizable tub and separate shower both large enough for 2 complete with complimentary bath salt. Great water pressure in the shower with additional shower wand allowing for 2 streams simultaneously if you should so choose.

Service is awesome and personalized. Something that can be possible due to MO having only 392 rooms. Bags get picked up at the door and whisked to your room. hot towel at the checking, no line at checkin or checkout. Greeting by name at many places I went to in the hotel. I had a very inexpensive bottle of sparkling wine from the limo ride in that I placed in the room and the ice bucket was refilled every day and the wine chilled even though I didn't really drink much from it and clearly just left it there. Complimentary shoe shine was really nice too.

I didn't really have a problem with the location as Aria was really close as was the Cosmo. The walk through Crystals is pretty quick.

For a more detailed review of the dining in the MO, I will write a TR soon.

tell me more about this back entrance. IP is currently the only weak link in my "walk the whole strip without going outside" route.

I dunno about secret elevators, but from what I recall having stayed at IP in the past, you head for the monorail stop and there's a walkway linking IP to Harrahs. I'm sure someone with more detailed knowledge can confirm.

I don't know the path with the recent construction, but it is probably the same. Head through the casino toward the Monorail (follow signs) eventually you will see where Harris route joins in. Make a sharp left and enter Harrahs. (This BTW avoids Harrahs noisy congested outdoor sidewalk sales and pit.) Continue down the stairs and cross the Casino floor and out the farther door. (I think you keep mostly to your right.) Head to Casino Royal and continue to the other side. (Holding your breath because of the smoke.). Then its up the conveyor belt and into the V.

(I assume you are a Vampire and are avoiding sunlight. )

fyp.

mainly something i got used to doing when i only came up to vegas in the summers for the wsop. I don't mind a long walk, but i will literally burn and peel going from the B to the V if i do it outside in a vegas summer.

Its also good for the winter nights tho when it gets pretty cold.

Cosmopolitan

Stayed in a Terrace Studio comped (brag) for two nights. I did have to pay a little extra for the Bellagio fountain view but it was well worth it. I could hear the sound of the fountains from my room, I was on the 24th floor.

Everything about the room was great, the shower was huge, nice tub, and you could sleep out on the terrace if you wanted.

The TVs were awesome, I booked my dinner reservation at Blue Ribbon through it. Also, they have Sirius XM radio and a ton of channels.

One thing I did not like was that they only had one ice machine on the floor and the ice machine gave out small ice cubes. I know that may be nit picky, but its hard to find anything wrong with this hotel.

Casino is very busy on the weekend due to the bars and club, but during the day it can be a little dead. I like that personally. Hopefully, I will be returning before the year end. This place is great stay.

This is correct. And the secret elevators are the ones behind the main elevators. If you are walking from the hotel lobby in IP, when you get to Fat Tuesday's make a left before the main elevators. There are two elevators that appear to go somewhere else, but they don't. They actually end up on the same floors but just behind the other elevators. Many people do not know they exist and they make getting to and from your room much easier during busy hours.
