Just booked 14 days at Treasure Island starting on June 13th. Total cost included all taxes was $1239.25. The rooms are nice and the beds are great. I think that is a great price.

Stayed in the newly renovated Resort Tower (old Indigo Tower) at Ballys for 3 nights last weekend. Had a two queen room. Perfectly fine room, it isway more spacious than the 2 queen Linq rooms. Fridge is standard with the room too which is nice.

Elevators were great also. The Resort Tower rooms start at floor 16 and go to floor 20-something. There are 8 elevators servicing these floors. if you are on floor 16 you basically have an express elevator that spits you right out into the casino, and a 3 minute walk to either Paris or Cromwell. I never waited for more than 30 seconds for an elevator the whole weekend.

They ain't working so great this weekend. My guess is only 2 or 3 out of the bank of 8 going to the upper floors is working.

What would be a good hotel for a 3-4 week stay (for the WSOP)? Preferably near/on the strip.

Depends on your budget. You can check the standard travel websites to get a better understanding which hotel is in which price range.

I've spent a considerable time at Encore over the years and the average age of people staying at Encore has to be 45+. If you're facing the North side, it's one of the quietest places on the Strip. Doesn't mean you'll get a great nights sleep since their mattresses are questionable quality given how much they spend on a room.

I was able to get 6/10 (Sun) through 6/14 (Check out Fri) comped @ Harrahs thanks to TR, resort fee for 5 nights was 190 so not bad. Unfortunately it is in the Mardi Gras room, which after watching some recent YouTube walk throughs, it looks like an absolute dump. I could have gotten a 500 sqft suite @ the Rio for the same price but chose Harrahs instead and it is too late now.. I am thinking of trying the 20 dollar trick or maybe just asking if Valley Tower is available.. I have heard rumors of a lad telling the front desk that he was planning on proposing to his GF and they gave him an upgrade, worth a shot I suppose lmao.

The GF is actually coming w me and we are flying out Sat 6/9 (Nice.) for the Blink182 concert @ the Palms, so I have to get a place somewhere for that saturday night which is going to cost more than the entire 5 nights @ harrahs lol. She is leaving Monday so I am thinking of staying somewhere nice.. I've always had such a crush on the Elara but there are no rooms available that night already which seems sketch but whatever. Will prob just go w Palms Place since the Blink concert is there.. looking forward to this summer! It is my 5th vegas trip and second WSOP trip.

Fwiw I stayed @ The Palms last year and I though it was a great. Its only like 70 bucks a night during the week. The rooms were awesome. Great bed and shower. Dark and quite when you wanted/needed it to be. I think it is a great choice if you have a rental car. Rental car is worth it regardless or where you stay imo.

Just back from the latest trip, stayed at Mirage and Linq this time, have stayed at both before.

Started with 3 nights at Mirage, Thu-Sun over march Madness weekend. Arrived around 10.30pm and went straight for a nap following the best part of 24 hours travelling. Was aware of quite a few doors slamming and shouting from the corridor but nothing out if order. Got up around 2-3am for a poker sesh and back in bed around 9-10am. Adjoining room was now in full on party mode, constant door slamming and EDM booming, couldn't sleep even with earplugs so went to the lobby and switched rooms. Clerk was v helpful and sorted me out a room on the same floor but different wing. Nice and quiet for the remainder. Rooms themselves were starting to feel a bit tired. Bed was v comfortable and room a good size but peace and quiet was my main priority given I'd be sleeping odd hours so it was a shame I had to switch. No fault of Mirage though and they handled it well. I play mostly in the Mirage poker room so it was super convenient for that and nice to be away from all the **** going on on the strip.

Sunday I moved to Linq for 6 nights, which I was not looking forward to even though I stayed there in 2016 and was impressed. Tried to check in around 10.30 and they wanted to charge me, said come back at 1pm and it would be waived. Came back around 4 and self check in said room not ready so queued for the desk. Asked for quiet room at end of corridor which she said was no problem but when I got in the lift noticed I was room xx001. Clearly this was right by the lifts, so people going by plus constant lift noise. The room safe was locked shut so I called down and she said I'd need to stay in and wait for an engineer. Someone arrived after about 20 mins and said he'd need to drill it. No way I was waiting any longer so rang down again to request a new room. Queued another time to pick up key and this time room was as requested. I slept some odd hours, 3pm-10pm, 7am-12pm etc, mostly things were quiet, only real noise was housekeeping knocking on doors, but they respected my do not disturb sign completely. Room was exactly as before, quite small for Vegas but plenty of room for what I needed, comfy enough bed, decent shower, clean/new bathroom and dark enough to sleep during the day.

Really struggled choosing between the low end hotels as they were always similar on price. In the end I'm pleased I picked Linq. I think having to walk through Flamingo, Harrahs or Ballys casino easy time to get to room would more tilting, even if rooms might be slightly better. Linq casino feels very clean and is small so easy to get past everything to the lifts. Fridge in room is a huge plus for me.

If (when) I do another grind trip Linq will still prob be first choice.

Drill the safe? Did it have a mechanical dial lock on it? If it was electronic you should have just found a youtube on how to open it.

I'm having security shut down the EDM party next door rather than going to the trouble of getting a new room, but hey your choice.

I recently stayed at the Fremont Casino. The hotel room safe actually had a physical key.

I know the poker room is great.

No, they are not such an issue while you're trying to sleep that you should go stay at ****ing Red Rock.

Maybe you're a hyper-sensitive complainer who likes to give bad advice on the Internet?
Just to be clear - you're accusing people of giving bad advice when your argument boils down to: I've stayed at 6 hotels on the strip and never heard loud drunk people in the hallway, so therefore it isn't an issue.

Is that an accurate summary of your position?

I am staying at the LINQ for the first time this trip. Location for someone playing poker is excellent. You are a very short walk away from the Caesars poker room. Bellagio and Venetian are quite close as well.

There are a bunch of restaurants between Flamingo and the LINQ which is a big plus.

However upon check in we noticed towels, bed sheets and pillows had all stains on them. The bathroom looked done but there were quite a bit hair in the bathroom floor when looked carefully. Unfortunately, cleanliness isn’t one of their strong suit. If the room was clean, I would have really liked the room even though beds aren’t very comfortable (it’s comfortable enough) and pillows are of poor quality. The room is compact and well designed and the bathroom is adequate. There is also a fridge in the room. The AC is right next to one of the double beds and blows right at you. You can’t change the direction of the air flow which sucks.

Overall, it’s a good value for the money. We asked them to change all the sheets and towels and they did it promptly. So kudos to them.

I have stayed at most strip properties. If the LINQ is $140 (with resort fees) a night and Wynn, Venetian, Aria, Bellagio are about $200-250, I would pick them in a heartbeat. I think the extra money you are paying to those quality hotels are well worth it especially if you are with your girlfriend/wife.

Summary of Below: Keep checking hotel rates as they fluctuate a lot and can save you money. It cost nothing to cancel and rebook.
===========================

When booking a hotel it is important to get the best deal for most people. More money saved on hotel and food means more money can be put down on the table. At least for me that is so as I have a budget I like to keep.

When booking hotels it should be important to keep checking hotel rates as they can fluctuate wildly.

On Friday I booked a 10 day Vegas CET hotel for the best price I could find. The price came out to be $1300 for an average $130 a night with all taxes included.

Soon after I booked the hotel stay I refreshed the hotel rate page and noticed a massive difference in what I just booked for. I called and canceled my reservation and rebooked. The new cheapest price was $800. That saved me $500 in just a few minutes of work.

Over the weekend I have kept a tab on the current prices. It has went up to over $1700 a few times. It has also went down to $760 once so I canceled my current reservation and made the new one within minutes. Total savings now $540 from my original reservation.

I will continue checking the hotel rates multiple times a day but at this point I do not think I will find it much cheaper. They may have new promos between now and my trip though so I will keep tabs on the promos.

I would also check all the promos carefully and figure out which is the best deal for the price.

Stayed at SLS and the room was actually really nice, i say actually because it has pretty average at best reviews. My gf liked it so much she said it was nicer than Encore rooms. I wouldnt go quite that far but i was actually really surprised at how nice it was after reading the reviews beforehand.

I went to a conference there. At the least it has easy access to Sahara, which allows easy traverse down Arville all the way to Tropicana. It's also on the monorail line.
