I know they'll be running a series alongside the WSOP, but don't know if they're still doing any day to day stuff.

Is there any hotels that seem to have mostly older people stay there (55+)? A guy at my work in his 60s is wanting to take his wife for first time and looking to stay somewhere that "drunk 25 year olds wont be screaming and running up and down the halls all night". Thanks.

Wynn, Bellagio. We usually stay at those spots and haven't had issues. But you're gonna pay for the privilege.

Red Rock might work - it's like 10 miles west of the strip and a little more subdued than a normal Vegas hotel

Bellagio yes, but has the clubdouche crowd infected Wynn the way it has Encore? Other than those- Vdara and Mandarin Oriental are good choices, even Venetian/Palazzo. Most of the lux hotels won't have the screaming 25-year olds problem.

I've stayed there quite a bit and don't really think it would fit what they're looking for, at least on weekends. Rooms would be fine, but casino crowd gets kind of young and trashy (but with locals, not tourists). Also, it's a place I would never recommend to anyone but a seasoned Vegas visitor since it's so far off the beaten path.

I haven't had that same experience. Maybe the drunks weren't 25, and not quite as numerous, but they were there.

His best shot is probably off-strip like Tuscany or that Marriott place. Or big bucks like at Four Seasons.

on strip no

off strip either the Suncoast or the JW Marriott/Rampart Casino in Summerlin. those places are basically like retirement homes, no joke.

The obvious answer hasn't been given yet.

The idea that Vegas hotels are "drunk 25 year olds screaming and running up and down the halls all night" is ... inaccurate.

I've stayed at Aria, V/P, Bellagio, NYNY, MGM Grand, and Planet Hollywood. I don't think I've ever once been woken up at night by drunken people doing that. And I go during spring break/MM/Superbowl/fun weekends.

This concern is way overblown and a stupid reason to go stay somewhere ****ty.

Maybe you were one of the drunks?

I've seen and heard plenty of them in Strip hotels.

Clearly there are drunk people *in* Strip hotels.

No, they are not such an issue while you're trying to sleep that you should go stay at ****ing Red Rock.

Maybe you're a hyper-sensitive complainer who likes to give bad advice on the Internet?

Nope, just someone tired of loud drunks. There are a lot of us.

I have stayed at most strip hotels. I have seen/heard drunk behavior in hotel halls on several occasions but never enough to consider it more than a minor annoyance. That said; Wynn, Encore, Bellagio, Cromwell, and Vdara would be on the recommended list. Mirage, Planet Hollywood and lower level CET properties would be on the no go list.

I get offers from TI a lot and they are all "resort fee optional". Yes you don't get gym access, wifi, etc if you waive it. The resort fee also adds a few other benefits like a free coffee, a free cocktail etc.

For St Patrick Day weekend (3 nights), do you think Balleys/LINQ @ $800 is worth it over Circus Circus @ $500?

Timber,

Depends on budget of course, but another possible option to get the Vegas experience without any of that is to stay at one of the nice non-casino resort hotels on the strip.

Some friends and I are doing Arizona Charlie's for $48/night that weekend. No reason to pay three times as much for the swanky environs of Circus Circus or Ellis Island.

Among the cheaper strip hotels, harrahs doesn't seem to have much of the drunken 25 year olds.

My wife and stay at TI in every trip to LV and I’ve heard a single loud noice besides the cleaning ladies in the hall. Heck the hallways are so quiet that on the rare occasion that you even see someone else people are usually whispering or at least talking really quietly. We were there last month for 5 nights and I can’t think of a single time we saw anyone in the hallway going or coming to our room.

Granted, I’ve only been to LV one time that was outside of January so that might have something to do with the crowds there but I have been during early spring break once and the hotel experience wasn’t any different.

I’m guessing that going during the fall and winter months would probably move the average age up some what.

If one is that concerned about drunk fools in the hallways (which I think is a generally silly concern), just ask for a room at the end of the hall.

Anyone stayed at Southpoint by the airport? It gets great reviews for hotel quality, but wondering how it would be ubering back and forth to the strip.

Went there to see Joey Diaz last summer, and it was about $30 in a cab from Cosmo.

Nice enough hotel, from the little I saw of it. Miles away from the strip, though.

Yeah, not very close to the airport either. I think they have a free shuttle to the Strip but it doesn't run very often. I think I'd feel like a geriatric taking one of those junkets.

As for the hotel itself, it's basically the Orleans but newer. It was built by the same group that owned Orleans.
