This most recent trip I stayed at the Wynn Tower Suites. I've stayed there a number of times. The Wynn does have one of the best poker rooms. They have almond/soy lattes. Very annoying that Aria does not. But Aria has more PLO games.

The prices at Wynn are high for everything. An almond milk latte from their coffee shop is $9.50. At one point I was going to order room service and the same latte was $18 (with Almond milk). It feels like the price of everything is 20 - 30% more than other hotels like Aria or Bellagio.

I did have some great meals. The best was at Delilah. We sat at the bar and had the Beef Wellington, Carrot Souffle and Broccolini. 10/10, very memorable.

There were a few times where tables limits were raised pretty high. I was trying to find a $25 minimum roulette game and on Sat night there were no tables under $50.

Rooms were nice, service was good. Would always come back but not when I am being budget minded.

Horseshoe or PH for 9 days in June. Travelling solo, playing wsop events. Wants decent quiet room, good gym, pool he can relax at for an hour or two, fridge in room.

worst scenario for him would be really noisy room.

Price is a wash. His assumption is PH is a little better but not enough to cancel out the opportunity for easier return to room on breaks

I can't speak for the gym or pools, but I'm staying at PH just to save money on cheaper/smaller meals.

If your friend doesn't care about that, then I would go with Horseshoe and just pray the elevators are not more crowded than last year now that Paris has taken over the 2nd Jubilee tower that Bally's use to have.

Never stayed at PH, but I have stayed at Horseshoe many times now and can easily recommend it.

- Rooms are large and always in decent shape. Never experienced any significant noise from other rooms.
- Gym is not gigantic but absolutely decent with a nice selection of machines + free weights.
- Only one pool, but reasonably big and has a 'deep' end that is hardly ever crowded where one can do laps.
- There is an empty mini fridge in room free of charge.

Sounds like your friend is gonna play WSOP, so the convenience of being able to be back at the room in 10 minutes would make this an easy choice for me.

The comment about meals is that ..there’s a wsop tax on food at Horseshoe or is it always more expensive food wise

Just checked out of Paris Bordeaux room and it was a disaster. Room was really worn down, and the shower was not working so had to call maintenance. They fixed the shower only for it to be leaking through the glass and flooding the bathroom floor after every shower. Queues were also absolutely absurd

On an ordinary break, there's no way you can get from WSOP to your room and back at PHo. You probably will miss a few hands even at Horseshoe because of slow/non-operating elevators. The food situation is very weak at Horseshoe, somewhat better at Paris (they're connected in case you didn't know), and much better at PHo because of the Miracle Mile.

Man, you need to get Diamond. There's a separate room/line for them. You need 15,000 tier credits, but there's a 5000 daily bonus if you can get 2500 in one day.

Am I the only one that checks in at 8-9am? Just tip them well and you will get a room right then or maybe wait a few hours.... and avoid these lines.

Some hotels let you do that. Others, like TI, have a big sign in the registration area that says if you want to check in before 2 pm, it's an extra 20 bucks. Before noon, it's 40 bucks. I probably have the times wrong, but you get the gist.

I did say to tip well! It also removes the tip to keep your bags at the bell desk.

My relatives stayed at Fountainebleu recently and it seemed decent as far as Strip hotels go. It was easy to get into the parking garage from DI East to Paradise North as a local so I can add a +1 for easy accessibility. Positives were that it is VERY spacious and it had that the new casino "smell" (i.e. no smoking stench has set in yet), negatives were the prices for everything were ridiculous (other than the 2nd level food court).

There is, or used to be anyway, a sex shop next to the Trump hotel. Should be fairly close to there.

Yep, see it when walking from V/Palazzo or Wynncore to Planet 13 for medical supplies.

well we didn't open it or they would have gotten charged. but I suspect (and hope) it wasn't used - you pay for it and it's yours to take with you. Quite a souvenir lol.

not sure what wing we were in but you could see the Sphere if you stood really close to the right side of the window.

Beef Wellington does serve two, but will set you back $185

Had to laugh that, directly under the $350 tomahawk steak, there's a section of the menu encouraging you to "Live a little"

my hot water didn't work the first night, kinda worked next few nights but took 5 mins to get going

I still think the prices are decent enough since you essentially get "free parking" since their lot is pretty big.

not sure if its better than rio tho, rio seems to effectively always be 10-15% cheaper. even had nights at 55-65$ during wsop at rio

Ended up doing the same when a Paris room priced out at $250 a night. The reason I chose Orleans is Rio ratcheted up their prices to almost $100 a night. Also I got a night or two comped at Orleans, therefore no resort fee those nights. Rio felt like they comped me enough this month (last weekend), so by the time I paid resort fees it was quite a bit higher than Orleans. I miss that fridge at Rio though. It's nice.

I felt pretty stupid when I remembered I have a micro-fridge at home. It's meant for your car or home, just big enough for a 6 pack of cans. Or some small water bottles.

BTW in case you don't know, the place to park at Orleans is the parking garage. It's right next to the poker room and shades your car from the sun.
