The Westin property is nice and u won't have to deal with the Strip crowds if u stay there. It's a resort and they have plenty of resort-like amenities. Having said that, the whole Lake Las Vegas area was much nicer in the early 2000s before is got soooooo overbuilt.
Thanks. Yes, I meant Lake Mead for boat renting, staying at Lake Las Vegas more for the scenery and to avoid the crowds I guess and it's the closest by Lake Mead.

Palazzo pools are available with an approximately 7 min walk from the normal V pool entrance and there’s also the small one in the Venezia Tower.

July 4 weekend is a good estimate

2) makes changing hotels WAY easier. I usually am out 10 days or so and often switch hotels to get comps or a change of scenery. Being able to toss your stuff in a rent car after checkout and before checkin is a lifesaver.
3) similarly, gives you a spot to store your stuff after checkout on your final day without having to mess with lines/tipping at bell desk or checking valuables with them etc.

Benefits of rideshare over rent car:
1) no parking fees
2) I always end up doing rideshare sometimes even when I have rent car for drinking nights
3) not having to mess with the rent car shuttle and center lines and the rent car insurance hustle. Took me almost 2 hours from touchdown to get in my tourney this trip. Of course without a rent car, I would either have to go to my hotel first etc.
4) no risk of hassle/costs/etc if you are in a wreck or some imbecile hits you in a garage etc.

So I would answer these questions if you’re debating between the options:

Are you going to go outside the Vegas metro?
Are you going to drink often or infrequently?
Are you able to check into your hotel when you arrive?
Are you going straight to the airport when you check out?
Are you changing hotels?
The other thing is a car frees you from having to think about how much it costs to go somewhere. Like if you get a sudden hankering for In N Out, it's not a $9 burger it's a $25 burger. Or you want to make a Walmart run for soda, beer, water, etc, you don't have to worry about what waiting costs are for the half hour you're in there.

If you have a sudden hampering for fast food, you can have that delivered to your door (or hotel ride share drop off) in a couple of minutes. In & Out is a little tricky and you need a workaround because they are not listed on delivery apps but it’s still possible. And everything else is on UberEats, Grubhub or Doordash anyway.

Same goes for groceries, but if you really feel the need to go to Walmart, you Uber there and order another Uber when you’re done. No need to have a driver wait for you outside.

ok yes then your plan is a good one.

There is an entrance to Lake Mead literally a mile down the road from Lake Las Vegas so very convenient.

...and then there is the Rio, which is a bit more bothersome to some guests:

That would be the extreme example-and yet another reason not to stay at the Rio (does show the overall level of maintenance at the facility)

Does anyone happen to know if any of the "entry level" to mid-level suites at any CET properties have a bedroom separate from the living space? Looks like it's a no, but I'm continually frustrated at how hard it is to find room details/pictures on the Total Rewards site.

Probably at Caesars. The ones in the old towers are huge. Or you could spend more money at the Ballys/Paris type of place.

This is why there is a CVS or Walgreens on every block - for your beer, water, etc needs.
Yeah, it's marked up from Walmart prices, but cheaper than getting an uber.

I’d be amazed. I had a good look at it today. No flooring, no lighting, no tiles, the whole outdoor bar area hasn’t been built and I’d expect there’s gazebos too. Plus the inside of all the new cabanas

I’d say August earliest

Google more pictures and floor plans. But yes, generally the entry level “suite” is not a suite at all.

I stayed at the Venetian for 5 days until Tuesday. It’s my third time staying there and it remains a really nice hotel.

I had a luxury suite and they really are huge. I have to stay in touch with work while I’m in Vegas and I really appreciate the sunken area with a good sized desk and I also used the lounge area every night for chilling out and reading.

Bathroom is great, maid service was prompt and thorough and the check in was quick and efficient.

There’s plenty of food options - I ate at Grand Lux, Bouchon and the new burger/shake place and each was exactly what I was hoping for/expecting. I even managed to enjoy a slice from the food court.

I like the location, close to the Wynn and Fashion Show mall

The fitness centre is about the best hotel gym I’ve ever used with good free weights, plenty of other equipment and machines and a climbing wall.

I’ll also give a shout out to the poker room which takes a lot of **** on this site. There were generally at least 8 2/5 games going and most of them were above average and some of them were great. The room has some strange rules but it’s really convenient to be able to see the lists in your hotel room TV and call down from your room

The major disappointment was that the main pool deck is still closed for renovation when it was due to be completed by late Spring. It does look like it’ll be awesome when finished though. In the meantime you scan use the Palazzo pools to which there is a 5/6 min walk through level 4 and there’s also the Venezia tower pool which is a lot smaller. Neither have the vibe (or viewing) of the V pool deck

I prefer the styling of some of the other premium properties but the V is significantly better than any of the ‘good’ mid range ones and is currently priced quite a way below the other premiums making it a really good choice.

stayed at polos towers for my first time in vegas every, was kinda of cheap for 5 nights, i think came out to $675 total> beteen 600-750$ basically I cant do the math right now

anyways, my room was a studio, came with fridge mini kitchen no burners. I won tlie it was small. but size wise was PERFERCT, the only ****ing problem was that I was next to a room that had kids and in the morning they woudl eb up at 9am ****ing talking and **** and I can hear them, imagine coming back from a lon gsession at 6am and waking up 2 hrs later due to ****ing peopel in the next room, was not a fan of that, would have been perfecct if I didnt hear them. as location si super good across from aria.

I assume at most hotels in vegas on strip you cant really hear noises from the room unless it comes from hallways

I always sleep with earplugs at hotels - there will just be some noise before noon even at nicer places

Not a good assumption.

Those would be useful hopefully at cutting down on the noise from Da Club too, but what do you do if you have the alarm set?

Ear plugs cut out about 70% of the noise but you’ll always still be able to hear an alarm

Yeah I'd even say like 90%

The main problem with earplugs isn't the alarm but is them falling out or pissing you off while you're trying to sleep

Depends on the hotel and noise level. In general, cheaper hotels have thinner walls but even at Wynn you hear your neighbor if he’s smacking up a couple hookers and they’re vocal about it at 5AM.

If we travel by car, my wife always brings a large fan to combat hotel room noise. If we fly and stay more than a couple nights at the same place, I order a fan for her from Amazon and have it shipped to the hotel.

Re: earplugs, even if you don’t hear the alarm sound from your phone, you should definitely hear/feel the vibration if you put in on your night desk.

i just use a white noise app + a small portable speaker and I'm good to go. noise is never a problem with that running.

Same. I bring along an old-school 'sound machine', just hit the 'waterfall' button (same as white noise). Helps me out a lot in hotels. As noted, there are free apps with similar sounds...

Oy, waterfall noise would have me up every hour to pee.

thats crazy that even at wynn or bellagio walls are somewhat thin. damn

my prob was that the door was right next to the other room, if there was a wall then it would have been ****ing perfect. maybe not perfect but hall noises still heard but prettty good overall.

Hi guys,

Going back in September to Las Vegas

Every time I go (5x total) I love to stay at a new place.

So far I’ve been to Bally’s, flamingo, Linq, and Aria, resort club thing

Looking at either Vdara or Park MGM

It looks like vdara is definitely nicer but 200 dollars more for a 5 night stay than park is

Do u guys think it’s wortj it? I’m a single guy and play lots of poker when I’m there usually at bellagio and aria

Richard - if you need a kitchen and want a few extra square feet Vdara is choice. If you just need a room without a kitchen, and based on your other stays that's what it sounds like, Park might be better. It's newly renovated. I like Vdara for proximity to Bellagio and Aria poker but no casino and quiet rooms. I haven't stayed in one of their basic rooms in a while though, mostly try for upgrades. Still think there's reasonable value if you find yourself eating leftovers or wanting a place to prepare a simple breakfast.
