just go to expedia and sort by price. that's your ranking.

at a minimum it is gonna sort everything into the correct general tier.

depending on exactly what sale is going on at the exact moment you sort, a few hotels may shift up or down a few spots from this list. But generally, the expensive hotels are more expensive because they are better, and cheaper hotels are cheaper because they are worse.

If the cheaper hotels were good enough to charge more - they would. if the expensive hotels aren't worth it, people won't pay, and price will adjust accordingly. (it's obviously more complex than this, and there may be exceptions, but it mostly explains most of it).

I'd look for decent rates from places like Bally's, Harrah's, Orleans, Gold Coast, Treasure Island, Linq, Flamingo, Rio.

The properties that are off strip (Orleans, Gold Coast, for instance), must charge less to lure people to the room. Gold Coast is right next door to the Rio, and Orleans has a pretty good poker room in its own right. I've always enjoyed my stays at Orleans (the renovations have smartened the rooms up quite a bit), and am going to try a night at Gold Coast while I'm out there next month, too.
The biggest negative of both is you can't walk out the front door and be on the Strip. But if your focus is poker, they are both good options.

I like that they offer a variety of decent/good food options, sports book, etc., although no poker at GC. I had crazy good offers from GC/Orleans and the non-luxury Caesar's properties. Any of those are way better than Excal, Circus, Strat, etc.

Right, but the motive for staying at GC is when the WSOP is going on since it's right next door. Otherwise, I'm not inclined to stay at GC at all.
Since I degened it up in the pits at Orleans on my last stay, I'm getting comped this summer, so I'm happy to give GC a whirl at $0.

damn thats crazy. im still gonna boook excal next year and soak it all in, the price is too damn good.

easily at end of day 200-300$ cheaper than harrahs or ballys if youre stayin gfor 4-6 nights

first time booking vegas to play in wsop.

mid february or late feb when the tourneys were released i looked at round trip flights and hotels for 4-6 nights

excal, luthor and curcus circus were easily the cheapest I can find for a 4-6 night stay BY FAR.

GC, orleans were just as much as rio, harahs ballys and yes even the linq

i know the first 3 i mentioned are evryones nut low on the strip but I have to believe that excal and luxor are beter than circus circus and you can def save 30-50$ a night. i was surprised at how "costly" harrah and ballys and glamingo and linq where, for 5 nights they were about close to 700-800$ range, i didnt expect them to be THAT high *shrugs*

Those Caesars properties nail you with their resort fees, for sure. I'm sure you'll have a nice time.

Do you have a card for Caesar's and/or Boyd? You can get some really good deals just by having the cards.

I would guess Luxor is best out of those places you listed, but at least Excal is near NYNY. I've heard some iffy reports about Flamingo. I stayed at Linq a couple years ago, elevators were jammed then broken, and didn't enjoy that thumpin bass from pool into late night. Circus & Strat are in ghetto.

If excal is at these rates there must be some big convention or smth. Normally that s***hole is like 60/nt or less and that is incl resort fees. As other have said tuscany, gold coast, orleans or ellis island normally good value slightly off strip, on strip TI, PH or (more downmarket) Harrahs, Tropicana, Flamino, Luxor, depending on the rates you get. Excal is pretty much at the bottom, maybe slightly above Circus Circus, only recommended if you bring stuff to seal your entrance and never spend a minute in it outside sleeping, showering

Circus Circus built the Excal to a pretty low standard, resembling the CC Manor.

Was still working in March for my wife and I. Get on their website and download their app now though. It's pretty nice considering and the buses were very nice and updated.

Are you getting some kind of compensation from Excalibur?

Nothing wrong with you staying there if budget is your main concern. But by now you should have realized through other postings here or travel websites like Expedia that Excal is at or near the bottom in every single relevant metric among Strip properties. Except for price obviously.

I would suggest you complete your summer trip to LV and when you get back home you decide if you liked it enough to go the hardcore budget route again next year.

Excalibur is almost the nut low of all the Casino hotels in Strip, but at least for me it is good enough (and earlier I have stayed also in Aria, Venetian, Ceasars Palace and Bellagio).

Only reason I don´t stay there more often is location.

I come every summer during the series for between 10 and 14 days. This year the strip hotels seem much more expensive than usual. The weakness of the £ against the $ will account for a part of that, but I’m wondering whether there’s some huge convention in town on my dates (June 24- July 8)?

I’ve stayed at the D, Luxor, Harrah’s and TI in recent years and they were all absolutely fine for me. This year I’ve booked the flights but have yet to add on my hotel to the package. I have a reservation (cancelable at no cost) for the first week at the Stratosphere, which I understand has changed ownership and has been partially remodelled. I still need to book somewhere for week 2. As long as the rooms are clean and everything functions well, I don’t much care about the amenities of the hotel, especially as I’m doing the trip somewhat on a budget this time. The price was £168 = approx $210 for the week (plus resort fees), which is a terrific price. But the reviews I’ve read on Tripadvisor and Expedia are very polarised - ranging from ringing endorsement to dark warnings about sewage-laden bathrooms, cockroaches, filthy linen etc etc.

I can still cancel - any thoughts/ advice.........

Thx

It’s u clear which resort you’re asking about?

Strat is a long way out and I wouldn’t stay there. I’d probably stay downtown before staying there and you’d get better value for money there too

I’m at polo towers, just got in my room and I can hear people right next to me...walls are kinda thin at least mine are. Super ducking disappointing imo. I don’t want to hear. neighbors.

Are all low rate rooms/hotels like this?
