Can someone elaborate on this resort fee waiving? Do you have that option always at TI? Anywhere else? What do you lose/not get by waiving it?
From my understanding it was a deal they had for a certain period, book with us between XX and XX dates for this XX price with no resort fees

When I booked last year it was just one on the deals on their website. "Tv ad special" if I recall. There wasn't any date restrictions, at least when I booked.

I assume you lose on whatever "perks" the resort fee provides: wifi, parking, fitness room access, that stuff.

I've also never had a problem with getting incidental holds waived, which is helpful.

Parking is free at TI, and resorts that do charge for parking, it's never included in said "resort fee"

Can anyone compare the California vs Fremont vs Golden Nugget? I'm guessing the Fremont is nicer than the California and the Golden Nugget is much nicer than the Fremont. I just have to figure out if the difference in quality is worth the extra cost.

I'm usually a no-frills traveler, but I am going with someone who likes a little bit fancier than I need (an elderly parent who just wants to play slots and will appreciate being able to walk to different casinos). If you want to compare to other locations, I have stayed at the Plaza and Golden Gate downtown and at Orleans and Gold Coast for other Boyd casinos.

The only things I saw that you lose by waiving the resort fee is you don't get a bottle of water to your room daily, the newspaper, and internet in your room. I don't care about any of that so I like it.

It is the only place I have found that waives the resort fee. Most are starting it new like downtown or are increasing it.

Also there is no charge for valet parking there, as I always rent a car. Most are now charging for that and also for garage parking.

They treat you good there and I don't give them much action as I play very little slots. Just mostly poker.

Just stayed at harrah’s in their recently renovated valley tower

Can’t comment confidently on what the rooms used to be like, but the valley tower was definitely a win for the price (less than flamingo or linq in CET world)

Had 2 queens, room and bathroom were both quite spacious (walk in shower)

Never waited more than 30 seconds for an elevator

Right above the diamond lounge and super close to valet

Valet was super speedy

I’d highly recommend to anybody looking for a bargain at a CET property

Can anyone rate Ellis Island? It's off the strip, but it's price for 3 nights on SB weekend is $170 at booking.com (7.3 rating). Looks like a 15 minute walk to Bellagio.

Do you mean for the food/brewery? The hotel part gets decent reviews - but I get suspicious when rooms are 60/night and the average is like 150.

Yeah just to elaborate a little...The room wasnt all that clean when I entered. The Heat/AC unit barely worked either way. The elevator took forever. The security guard at the time was a prick.

The positives were the Cobb Salad I ordered through room service, and the boobs.

Well it's pretty much what you'd expect for that price.

Stayed for 2 nights on march madness for pennies compared to anywhere else. Rooms were pretty lol, smelled like **** and cigarettes (no smoking room obv) but on the other hand we were super lucky that they started renovating room next to us both mornings at 8am. Toilet broke 3 times but was quickly fixed.

I kinda liked the casino even though it's a ****hole, but those beers are utter trash and i have no idea why they keep getting praises, restaurant was pretty solid for that price point.

After that it might seem odd, but yeah i'd recommend it if you're on a tight budget, dont mind little walk for the strip and only need it for place to crash for couple hours.

So i'll give it perfect 5/7.

^ thanks for review - I figure these dirt cheap rates could put you in the non-renovated part of the hotel - or some other type of catch.

I ended up going with Tuscany Suites - for like $100/night.
