That's what I would do. You may even try calling to upgrade about week before you get there, too.

My guess is that the casino controls the Panorama suites rather than the hotel, which means you have to either:

A. Be a big enough player that the casino will give you one

B. Upgrade at check-in, like they said

At other places, the casino won't release their block of suites to the hotel until a certain time of day. Not sure what the procedure is at PH.

Hey guys, how safe is it to keep large amounts of cash at Bally's (10k$) ? Will be playing most at the Bellagio and Aria during WSOP, so might have 5k$+ on me at times. Is it safe to walk from there to Bally's ? How long is the walk ? Thanks

I probably won't really stay in the room much except to sleep and use bathroom or whatever. Maybe eat some food there from time to time. Most important things are location (close to Bellagio and Aria), and safety. I was considering the Vdara which is a bit closer to both but also significantly more expensive.

^^^ Yes it is safe to walk, and believe it or not 10K is not that much cash in Vegas. Just keep it on you. Safer than leaving it in the room, even in the safe.

Bellagio is just across the street from Bally's. You're just fine walking. There is a free tram from Bellagio to Aria iirc. But it's walkable too.

Had a quick question for u guys, I'm gunna head to Vegas in June for the wsop and I'm staying at the rio. I saw binions has some events going and wanted to play in a few, I'm not gunna have a car and I was wondering if a cab would be my only real option to get to bionions?

You could also take a bus. Take the free shuttle to the strip and then the SDX or Deuce to Binnions. Check Google maps. About 45 mins this way from Rio to Binions. Round trip would be I think $7. Cab will be quicker, but will cost (I think) $40+ round trip. If you can get a couple of guys to share a cab with you I'd take a cab. Or you can make the 2 hour walk in the suffocating heat.

Thanks for answering combo, bus or cab definitely sound a lot better than walking.

Google maps gives very good instructions on bus trips. There is a also a plan your trip feature at the RTC. Unlike most Americans I am not afraid or too proud to ride the bus. Public transportation in Las vegas is better then many American cities. However the Deuce can get crowed at times.
You might take the free shuttle in the to the strip do something on the strip and then later take the buss to Fremont making the travel time more useful.

Kind of annoying because if we can't get that suite I don't really want to stay there, I don't think they offer adjoining rooms and their standard rooms look pretty small compared to other hotels at the same price point (or slightly more) Oh well.

Treasure island or Harrahs? both same price for me deciding is hard, staying in Palazzo for 1st half and one of the above for second half. I'm leaning towards TI.

Thoughts?

TI is the better hotel, Harrah's has the better location. Depends on what you're looking for.

I'd argue that location is about a wash between the two. I'd pick TI about 100% of the time.

Cab ride cost me $18 from strip to Binions and I think $20-$22 back. Tips not included. Don't know if we got long hauled because it was our first time going downtown. Didn't take too long though, we considered the bus but we didn't want to take all day to get there and back to save $20.

If you will already be staying at Palazzo and used to being on that end of the strip, go for TI. Location is not bad and you can walk to Harrahs in a few short minutes its not that far. TI rooms are very nice and clean. If you will be playing at the Venetian, TI is an obv choice.

I didn't realize until my last visit that Casino Royale has a hotel. I think that's the closest to the Venetian and it absolutely has to be dirt cheap. No idea about quality though.
Thanks for the info.

Another question. Is it walking distance from Circus Circus to the Venetian?

Google says 1.2 miles walking distance.

Not a fun walk especially 3am or so

I walked from Circus Circus to Stratosphere at 3 O'clock in the afternoon, and let's just say it was sketchy at best.

I wouldn't walk from Circus Circus to anywhere after dark.

You didn't get longhauled, that's what it costs.

Everything is walking distance. Would I want to walk it? Hell no.

no. don't stay at circus circus. I went to the steakhouse there once (which is surprisingly good given the rest of the casino) and it's filled with redneck/white trash families.

You'll also end up cabbing it to go anywhere and lose any savings you may get from the dirt cheap nightly rate.

I mentioned earlier I wanted a panorama suite in PH but can't book it in advance etc, I just came across the 2 bedroom suite in Hilton Elara (which is attached to PH) which looks perfect and less than half the price. Does anyone have any experience of this room/hotel? I'm curious because this hotel appears to never get suggested when anyone asks about good places to stay on the strip, location is also very good.
Thx

I haven't stayed there, but I partied there when some friends had it booked. The rooms are great. Up until March 2012 it was called "Planet Hollywood Westgate" so you might have more luck searching it by that name. There are some good Youtube video reviews under the Westgate name.

I've stayed at the panoramic suite at PH back in 2010 for a Saturday night. I enjoyed it very much. We had the two king size rooms attached on both sides. First thing I thought was the room could easily sleep 15 people comfortably. The view at night from the 180 degree view is awesome. If ever I get a chance for to stay in this room again, I would try for the Star Trek room.

The room isn't bookable online. It would have to be booked at check in as an upgrade. between me and my buddy, we payed 200$ on top of an already 2 compd rooms for the suite to impress the GFs.

Anyone know if it's worth anything to log into Identity before trying to book at Cosmo?

I would just try it, but their website really blows and won't let me register online after getting signed up at The casino

Fwiw I only have around 500 identity points, but that'd be worth a free room over at CET lol
