Never seen 2/3, but 1/3 runs 24/7 in most CEt properties. For 2/5 running 24/7 I bet your choices are Aria, Bellagio, Venetian, Wynn. I don't understand your comment:

Well if you want to be in the Aria/Cosmo/Bellagio area and want the quality of that level of hotel, the answer is to stay at Aria, Cosmo or Bellagio. PH is a dump compared to those three, Bally's and Paris are worse, Caesars is in fact too old and ****ty in a million other ways, Venetian isn't in the area. And like Prof said, the rooms on the strip with 24/7 2-5NL are going to be Aria, Venetian, Wynn and Bellagio. Period. Pretty much every room will have 1/2 or 1/3 going all the time.

Why not try the Wynn for a change?

The hotel rooms can be situated a long way from the casino floor (so I've been told). Its just a minor annoyance that I wouldnt like. The Aria you literally walk onto the Casino floor from the elevators (despite a long walk if you get stuck at the far end of the hallway but this is minor)

Thats what I thought but I was hoping someone white knight could come in and remind me of a hotel I hadnt remembered. Interesting on the PH comments, been to Vegas 4 times and never walked into PH for some reason but assumed it was pretty fresh by looking from the outside.

Gave this a lot of thought but havent ruled it out. We are both 24 so the crowd is a touch older than us but we would still fit in. Last time I was there in 2011 it was absolutely dead though, had a real fun sucking vibe. Havent crossed it off though. If it was situated where the Cosmo is I would probably take it in a heart beat. I like being in walking distance to all those surrounding Casinos

I've stayed at PH and it has been the nicest room I've had in Las Vegas. But I don't like
spending a lot on a room that I only sleep in. I did not like the PH casino much but I'm 55
and your 24. It seem like a good place for the young crowd. When we stayed at PH all the shows and activities we wanted to do were north of flamingo. Thus PH was inconvenient. I would look at what you want to do and see and take that into account too.

OK I have to challenge that one...where else have you stayed? I haven't stayed at PH but have been in one of their nicer suites, and it didn't hold a candle to comparable suites at other places.

Hotel-Casinos I have stayed in when in Las Vegas are: Main Street Station, Fitzgeralds, Arizona Charlies East, Circus Circus, Sahara, Imperial Palace (Capri building) twice, The Orleans, Bally's and Planet Hollywood.

I think you will have to admit that PH would have the best standard room among these.

I can't recommend the Wynn strongly enough, particularly with your GF in tow. You'll both love it. I stay in LV for 2-3 weeks at time to play so I go cheaper but always book a couple of nights there just to hang at the pool and experience the luxury. Rooms are flawless and the views amazin.. ANd, imo it has the best poker room in LV.

Stayed in the MGM Signature last week. Lovely suite rooms, rubbish pool area but you got the grands pool 5 min away. Going back in Christmas and gonna try the Aria out next.

That's not saying much... what it does say is that you're single, since no one in their right mind would take a woman to any of those hotels.

Wrong. But close. Took my wife to C^2 before I new better and I took her to PH which (the room) was very nice. (The casino not so much.)

Also I don't get what you are saying by the bold. I wasn't bragging, just clarifying for eco.

What I am saying is: You admit to having stayed in every bottom-of-the-barrel property in town; small wonder that PH looks great by comparison.

Now take your wife to someplace decent.

If you've played table games at the properties you mentioned, try getting a reservation higher up on the hotel chain's food chain. If you have play at Orleans or Main St. Station, you'll be welcome at the Borgata. Instead of Bally's/IP/PH, check the CET reservations page to see if you can get a good deal at Rio or Caesars.

If I was traveling alone, I wouldn't care if I was in the Motel 6. But I know better than to make my wife stay there.

I don't mind staying at the IP alone, despite the rap it gets here. But women appreciate luxury hotels more than guys do, IMO, and if I told Mrs. FRGCardinal we were staying there, she'd tell me to GTFO, then change the reservation.

Depends on if it's the actual room itself or the scene/pool or both that the wife cares about. Mrs. Sheik is more interested in the room itself, so she'll tolerate Bally's/Flamingo (must: upgrade to more recently remodeled room with $20 trick) even though we have stayed at the nice places, also. As long as the room is "not gross," she'd rather have the "extra" dough for shopping, etc. Odd because she owuld bitch if we stayed at a Flamingo-level hotel or resot for a "regular" vacation; being Vegas actually reduces her uppitiness, at least as regards lodging.

I think Mrs. ComboProf has the same spirit. She'd rather have the dough for going to shows. Thus location is important and I am basically forced to stay on the strip. Consequently the Rio is a worse choice than say Bally's. Also PH is apparently worse than Bally's again because of location. (This could change depending on what we want to see.) We did check out Flamingo last time and now that its been remodeled due to Margareta ville and the "smokiness" has diminished we sort of like it. Both of us. I should remind you that we are 55+ so there is a lot about fancy resorts that do not interest us. (If we could find one with a pool open in the winter (February) it would make a difference.) One feature we did like about both the Flamingo and IP is that you could exit the Hotel Section without going through the Casino. If there was a Hotel on center strip with no casino that we could afford we would stay there. Realistically we are only in the room for 8 to 10 hours thus location and price are the most important aspects in hotel selection for us. I may give up chasing Total rewards and sacrifice a resort fee and try say TI or Mirage. Or if the shows we want to see are south strip I'd try Tropicana.

Vdara might work for you sometime if you can get a good rate. No casino and close to Bellagio.

Anyone stayed at Bill's lately? Has great reviews from Trip Advisor fwiw.

I was in Vegas two times - both IP- I thought it's shabby but for playing 1/2 with drunken people it was fine enough. Location ++, Pool ok

Now my intentions are to play rather 2/5 - games in the night and getting some pleasant hours in a fine pool area in the afternoon- i like buffet-dinner.
Doesn't have to be as cheap as IP, but Ceasar's Palace is propably my upper limit ( maybe almost exceeding it)

I hope to get some good information about places that fit that description....because i'm from europe and flight costs are high enough

The short answer is book a room at Flamingo. Their pools are decent and you are within walking distance to 6+ poker rooms that regularly spread 2/5.

As for buffets, try the one at Paris and go from there. Most all of the hotels have one. Just depends on how much you want to spend.

NYNY is a dive, and if you want to play 2/5 at the hotel you're staying at it won't be that one- they don't even have a poker room.

And Caesars shouldn't be anyone's upper limit for the simple fact that there are better places priced cheaper.

A am so confused. Could you define dive for us. It seems you almost every hotel is a dive.
