From what I gather, the vast majority of Vegas hookers are like that. They strip for a somewhat steady income, and hook for bonus bucks. They work the guys at the strip clubs, and I have a couple friends that have patronized these types many times. Some nights they will work the clubs instead. The ones I've talked to don't look like hookers at all, just ordimary hot chicks.

BTW, you wouldn't have gotten very far for your $137. Once up in your room, you would have had to cough up a lot more bucks to get much.

My buddy and I booked a trip to Vegas first time to commemorate my newly single status out of a long relationship and first night there we're predrinking and playing blackjack, then hitting the bar a bit and as we are about to go out he cops out, saying he doesn't feel good. WTF. I go out on the town solo.

Wake up at about 12:30 and hit the pool. Proceed to get informed about how he found a number for an escort service, called them up, and paid SEVEN HUNDRED DOLLARS for ONE LADY.
I literally spit out my drink at the pool when he told me. No joke. The girls next to us looked at me with disgust (another loss there).
He then proceeds to show me the pics...
the girl isn't bad looking, but she's not 10...and there's that whole $700 bit. I explain to him how I went home solo but that we were in VEGAS and he could get the same thing and save $700.
Anyways...he proceeded to tell me how the girl said he was "awesome" and the "best ever" and when I kept trying to explain that she says that to all of the 1000 guys a day he wouldn't believe me.

I have a story, and a question:

A few years ago, a friend of mine came to Vegas for some tourneys and cash games during the WSOP. Sometime during the 2nd day of his trip, he met 2 women (presumably hookers) that he partied with all day and into the night.

Details were sketchy, but they all ended up crashing at his hotel room after staying out drinking and partying. When he woke up the next day, both women were gone. As was his wallet. And his cash. And his credit cards.

This guy had to call HIS WIFE and have her book him a flight back home that very day. After all, he had no money, no reason to stay in Vegas, and no i.d. on him. I have no idea what story he told her during that phone call or when he returned home. I know he told her his wallet was stolen, but I think he left out some of the details.

Now, my question: What is it about hookers that guys like so much that they're willing to pay so much money for? Is it a perfect body and face? The experience? I hear all kinds of stories about how guys pay hundreds or even thousands for a hooker (for a few hours!) when they could have as much fun with a stranger they pick up at a club...for a lot cheaper. I have several girlfriends that go out clubbing or hang out at the casino just to meet guys. If they really like a guy, he's somewhat of a gentleman, and reasonably clean, there's a good chance they'll go home with him. And it won't cost him more than a few drinks or a nice dinner.

Because with a hooker, they don't really have to like you, you don't have to be a gentleman, you don't have to be reasonably clean, and there is a 100% chance they will go home with you. And it won't cost any drinks or time wasted having a "nice" dinner.

Think of it in economic terms, spend time and energy finding sloot, getting sloot to like you, taking out for drinks and dinner, acting in reasonable manner, and maybe take sloot home VERSUS pay hooker money, wham bam thank you mam, she leaves.

Or be like a previous poster, and put the money you would spend on a hooker on the 2/5 table, because apparently he gets his sexual satisfaction playing no limit Texas Hold Em.
