It's worth looking at the history of the OP. Maybe we can find some clues to help us understand this mystery.
Here he is. Maybe someone has seen this guy?

"Like many, heading to Vegas for the first time at the end of FEB!" Which is weird, it's not like late Feb is a huge time for traveling to Vegas (Super Bowl, NCAA Tourney, and WSOP all come to mind as "like many" opportunities).
"I have a good knowledge for poker. I have been playing cards for ever, Euchre, hearts, spades, tonk, so on and so on. Poker games my entire life, but mainly .5-50 home games with friends."
"I love everything about this city. I have thought about moving out here but wanted to check it out first. I may start a blog soon about my journey to move out here after I think a few weeks when I get home."
Then a few months later he started a blog, which he posted as a Trip Report, entitled: "A year to make it happen: My plan to move to LV"

"My personal life is pretty simple. I live alone in a townhouse. I have no kids and no wife/girlfriend. It is a pretty good situation for me to move. I have nothing holding me back."
"Yes, I understand there will be those who doubt me. But I am going to make this happen. 2016 has been nothing but hell for me and it can only get better. In fact, it already has. After I got back from Vegas in March, I was so ready for the move. Then two surgeries, robbed, bank account hacked and various other things, we are now here. December 28, 2016. The year is almost over and I couldn’t be happier."
then this thread in Spring 2017:"2nd trip to Vegas, First solo trip for Ohio boy"

"Vegas just about took me. I left a couple days early. Up a good amount for the trip and satisfied with my stay.
It was definitely love at first sight and not just the lure of what the city has to offer. This is definitely the place for me to live. I felt more like I was at home then when I am sleeping in my own bed."
