Harrah's or RIO ? Harrah's or RIO ?

I'll be in Vegas from the 25th of June to the 4th of July.. cant decide between Harrah's Las Vegas and Rio All suite.. for a lil background.. the 10 day stay should set me back about $320 at Harrah's and $720 at Rio ( i'm only payin for 3 days the rest are comped)

My question .. are there noticeable differences between the 2.. to warrant paying the extra $400 for RIO.

I've only stayed at Paris, which is really nice, but if you're going to be at the Rio for the WSOP, it might be worth it. Rio might have a little nicer and larger room, but for the WSOP, it wouldn't be worth twice the cash.

thanks for the input .. I was just playing around with the reservation system and found a way to get the whole stay comped if split it into 2 separate trips (with 48hrs 'cool-off' period). So at 0 cost for harrah's, Paris, Rio or caeser's which do u recommend (I'm primarily there for the WSOP)

Caesars is def. the nicest but theres a lot to be said for avoiding taxi lines/commuting before/after tournies; so I'd stay at the Rio if you're playing a lot of events and Caesars if not.

The rooms and hotel is not as flashy at Harrah's, but it's a lot more convenient. So much so that I would rather stay there than at Caesars if I was going for 10 days. The Venetian is right next door. The parking garage is a short walk. It's easy to get in and out of via Koval Road. There are cheap but nice restaurants nearby, like Outback.

I'd stay at Harrah's if I was concerned about price. Rooms are clean and Harrah's location is very convenient. You aren't walking to the Rio, anyway. Stay at the Rio only if you plan on playing there every day.

The weather is almost always nice, but it won't be under 100 degrees any day. We already hit record highs at 108 last week.

Yeah "nice" means its not boil your blood hot too... like either just in the low hundreds or early/late enough so its comfortable. Last year was pretty terible but the year before i was at ceasers most of the time and made the walk pretty regularly.

I just got 2 free nights at the Rio (I had a choice of Paris, Bally's, and Harrah's as well) comped through my Total Rewards points. I'm a gold member as well and always show my card when I enter the poker room. I also make sure to let them know that I'm leaving the poker room so that they actually count the points.

Also, if you are a degen and play table games always make sure you give your card to the dealer to give to the pit boss. When the pit boss walks over, start a short conversation, bet a bit bigger, tip the dealer well, and just be an overall fun player who they would want to have back. Leaving a good impression will help when they enter your info into the computer, thus earning comps.

Curious...48hr 'cool off' period, so you have to be out of hotel X for 2 nights before moving to Y? What are you doing those two nights? Or, am I misinterpreting 'cool off period'?
