Sorry, didn´t know where to put this question and feel this is the best place...

Question:
What is the Flamingo of Macao? Relatively cheap with very good location...

Maybe the Lisboa? I stayed at the (old) Wynn for a bit, and Lisboa was right across the street. The problem with Macao casinos is that they're completely spread out with no central "Strip" like you'd find in Vegas. There are clusters, but you may need to travel no matter where you are. The good news is that cabs are dirt cheap so don't sweat it too much.

I wasn't there for poker. My wife was there for a month for work, so I went and joined her for a couple of days before we continued on to Thailand for our honeymoon. I did get to play at the Wynn for a bit but jetlag took over after an hour or so. There wasn't really much to report.

I do, however, have a Vegas trip report that's long overdue for an update. Should have one coming this weekend. It's somewhere in LVL.

There is nowhere cheap. However, most places will be within walking distance of everything. I stayed at the Grand Lapa (pricey but one of the cheaper options) And the rio which was around 200 US a night.

Rio can definitely be had for USD$75/night, like all hotels everywhere it just depends on what dates you need and if you're able to book at least 2 weeks in advance. Lisboa and Grand Lapa are also solid options that are usually a bit pricier.

Taipa side, probably gotta give the nod to Broadway Macau for pure value. Although I think that Galaxy and Hard Rock are in better locations, especially for someone looking to play poker. Those two often are not budget friendly, but do sometimes offer good deals.

Assuming you are planning to stay more than just a couple nights, I'd recommend splitting your trip between both the Macau side and the Cotai strip on the Taipa side

If you want info about poker in Macau, Live Casino Poker is your forum. Take a look at the top where it is divided into regions and locations. Poker is generally soft there, but the rake is incredibly high (capped at like 15USD) and the lowest games tend to be the 2/5 range. On top of that, there are only a few tables here and there. Chinese people really love to gamble, and gamble fast. I'd say in general it is only worth it to play there if you are a playing high stakes.

Meh, 15 US would be great. Unfortunately it's at least 200 HK, which is like 25 US. And the softness of the games is not that great either, certainly not compared to the US.
Yes, poker in casinos is rare. Except for the Wynn, which has a somewhat active scene, and to a lesser extent City of Dreams, when tourneys are running. Tourneys are relatively good value in Macau, they are not raked much higher than in the US.
Most casinos don't even have poker. A typical scene, say Saturday night in the AMs, maybe 1 or 2 lone poker tables going, about to break up, but high stakes baccarat or blackjack, tons of action.
Edit: And to answer to OP: I have found the Sheraton to be relatively good value. Centrally located to the Taipa rooms (and the mainland is only a 10 US taxi ride), and can usually be had for around 100 US/nt on ctrip which is cheap for Macau. Also it's surely much better quality than the Flamingo. On the downside it is owned by the Adelson empire (like much in Macau)

I spent the better part of 3 years in Macau and haven't been for 5 years. Grand Lisboa is a great hotel that is reasonably priced compared to the others (at least when I was there). Don't mistake it for the older Casino Lisboa, which is old and ****ty. There is also a place called L'Arc which had nice rooms.

The best room in town is the Wynn, and both of these places are right across the street. In Macau "across the street" is more akin to downtown LV distance than Strip. It's like a 1-3 minute walk from each hotel lobby to the actual Wynn poker room.

As mentioned above, if you find another place to stay don't sweat it because taxis are going to be $5-$10 no matter where you go.

And yes, the rake is high. Back when poker started there in 2008 it was a great scene with tons of fish and easy easy money. I know more than one kid who came in, ran well off the bat and worked their way up the super fishy high stakes games and made millions. But the games tightened up pretty quickly. Don't expect a lot of fish unless you're rolled for the nosebleeds.
